I.
Scopeandimplementation
Scope
2. ThisAgreementshallbeapplicabletotheservicingofconferencesand meetingsorganizedbythepartiestotheAgreement,byanymodeof interpretationandonaworldwidebasis,pursuanttotheirmandated activities.2ItshallbeopentoallexistingorganizationsoftheUnited NationsCommonSystemandshallbeextendedbymutualagreementto otherorganizationsoftheCommonSysteminvitedtojointheAgreement duringitsperiodofvalidity.Thelistoforganizationsthatarepartytothe AgreementiscontainedinannexF.Amoredetailedlistoforganizational entitiestowhichtheAgreementappliesiscontainedinannexG.

Mandated activities of organizations party to this Agreement are defined in, or derive from: (a) The UN Charter, statutes and treaties or other international instruments as applicable, which establish the respective organization with its object, purpose and functions; (b) Decisions of their policy-making organs/governing bodies set up by these international agreements; and, (c) Decisions by their respective Executive Heads on implementation activities of the organizations.

8. Offersmadebyanorganizationtoaninterpreterareoftwocategories: firmoffersandoptions.
(1)Definitions
(i)AfirmofferisanofferofworkthatisbindingbothontheOrganization andontheinterpreterwhoacceptssuchanoffer. (ii)Anoptionisaproposalofworkthatisnonbindingforboththe Organizationandtheinterpreter. (iii)Arequestforavailabilityisnotanofferofworkbutmerelyanenquiry bytheOrganizationconcerningtheavailabilityoftheinterpreterfora periodofwork.Itisinnowaybindingoneitherparty.
(2)Firmoffers
(i)TheOrganizationshallendeavour,wheneverpossible,tomakefirmoffers withoutresortingtooptions. (ii)Theinterpreter,inacceptingafirmoffer,therebyundertakestofulfilthe ensuingcontractandonlytowithdrawfromitiftheOrganizationhas consentedtoasuitablealternative.
(3)Options
i)TheOrganization,ifitisunabletocommititselfimmediatelytoafirm offer,mayproposeanoptiontotheinterpreterandmaintainthatoption untilsuchtimeastheinterpretercallsuponthatOrganizationtoconfirmit asafirmoffer. (ii)Theinterpreter,inacceptingsuchanoption,therebyundertakesto accordprioritytotheOrganizationfortheperiodconcerneduntilsuchtime aseithertheofferisconfirmedasafirmofferorcancelled.

(4)Competingoffers
(i)Theinterpreter,ifofferedworkelsewhereforpartoralloftheperiod coveredbyanOrganizationsoptionshallrequesttheOrganizationto confirmitsownoptionasafirmofferbeforeacceptinganyotheroptionor offer. (ii)Whenaninterpreterrequestsconfirmationofanoptionasafirmoffer, theOrganizationshall,within24hoursofthefirstworkingdayofreceiptof theinterpretersrequest,providearesponseandshallendeavoureitherto confirmtheoptionasafirmofferortocancelitandtherebyreleasethat interpreter. (iii)IntheabsenceofaresponsefromtheOrganizationbythedeadline referredtoabove,thatoptionshallautomaticallybedeemedtohave lapsed.
(5)Paymentofindemnity
Onlyafirmofferthatisacceptedbytheinterpretershallgiverisetothe paymentofindemnitiesasprovidedforinparagraph12(Cancellationor terminationofappointment).
Lettersofappointment
9.
WhenacceptingworkforanOrganizationoftheUnitedNationsCommon System,ashorttermconferenceinterpretershallbegrantedatemporary orshorttermletterofappointment.Thetermsoftheletterof appointmentshallcomplywiththeprovisionsofthisAgreement,tothe extentthattheydifferfromtherulesoftheOrganizationgoverning temporarystaff.Thecontractsgrantedtoshorttermconference interpretersshallindicate:(a)theplaceofwork;(b)thedatesof engagement;(c)theapplicableremunerationrates,whetherdailyor monthly;(d)areference,whereapplicable,toaCaisseand/oraccident andsicknessinsurancewhentheregulatoryframeworkofthehiring Organizationprovidesforthisoption,andthecorrespondingpercentage tobededucted;and(e)whethertheshorttermconferenceinterpreters

engagementinvolvestravelandwhetheradailysubsistenceallowance (DSA)ispayableand,ifso,inwhatform.
Privileges,immunitiesandresponsibilities
10.
WhenworkingforOrganizationsoftheUnitedNationsCommonSystem, shorttermconferenceinterpreters: (a) Byvirtueoftheircontract,shallhavethestatusofofficials,3pursuant totheConventiononthePrivilegesandImmunitiesoftheUnitedNations, theConventiononthePrivilegesandImmunitiesoftheSpecializedAgencies andrelevantagreementswithhostcountries,asapplicabletoeach Organization,andthereforeenjoytheprivilegesandimmunities,andhave theresponsibilities,pertainingtothatstatus; (b) Shallbeboundbythestrictestconfidentialityandsecrecy,whichmust beobservedtowardsallpersonswithregardtoinformationgatheredinthe courseofprofessionalpractice.
Professionaldomicile
11. Thefollowingprovisionsareestablishedwithrespecttoprofessional domicile: (a) ForthepurposeofthisAgreement,theprofessionaldomicileofthe shorttermconferenceinterpreteristhedomicileforwhichthatinterpreter declaresher/himselflocal; (b) Theprofessionaldomicileofshorttermconferenceinterpreterswho aremembersofAIICshallbepublishedintheAIICYearbook.The OrganizationsshallrequestaninterpreterwhoisnotamemberofAIICto declarethatinterpretersprofessionaldomicile,whichshallbeapplicableto everyOrganizationthatispartytothisAgreement.Anysuchinterpreter mayhaveonlyoneprofessionaldomicileatanyonetimeandmaychangeit onlyforconsecutiveperiodsofnofewerthansixmonths.Employment conditionsshallbegovernedbytheprofessionaldomicileoftheinterpreter atthetimeemploymentisoffered,irrespectiveofthatinterpretershome addressoractualplaceofresidence; (c) AIICsprofessionaldelegationsshallliaisewiththeOrganizationsto ensurethatAIICslistofallshorttermconferenceinterpretersdeclared professionaldomicilesiskeptuptodate.Organizationsshallprovide informationuponrequestandwiththeconcurrenceoftheinterpreter concerned,butcannotassumeresponsibilityforanyinaccuracies.Any

Cancellationandterminationofappointments
12.
WhenanOrganizationterminatesorcancelstheappointmentofashort termconferenceinterpreter,thefollowingprovisionsshallapply: (a) Forreasonssuchasillhealth,4abandonmentofappointmentor assignedfunction,misconduct,unsatisfactoryserviceorthediscoveryof factsanteriortotheappointmentofthestaffmemberwhich,hadtheybeen knownatthattimewould,undertheprinciplesestablishedintheCharter andtheStaffRegulationsandRules,haveprecludedher/hisappointment, theshorttermconferenceinterpretershallbepaidsuchindemnitiesasare providedforintheStaffRegulationsandRulesoftheOrganization applicabletoshorttermortemporarystaff; (b) Foranyreasonotherthaninsubparagraph12(a),andwithout prejudicetosubparagraphs12(e)and(g)below,ifthecancellationofa monthlycontractiscommunicatedmorethan15daysbeforethebeginning oftheappointment,ormorethan30daysforadailycontract,theshort termconferenceinterpretershallbepaidanindemnityequalto50percent ofthesalaryfortheperiodsetoutintheletterofappointmentorother documentwhichwouldbeissuedbytheappropriateauthoritywithinthe Organizationconcernedatthetimethattheengagementoftheshortterm conferenceinterpreterisconfirmed; (c) Foranyreasonotherthaninsubparagraph12(a),andwithout prejudicetosubparagraphs12(e)and(g)below,ifthecancellationofa monthlycontractiscommunicated15daysorlessbeforethebeginningof theappointment,orfewerthan30daysforadailycontract,theshortterm conferenceinterpretershallbepaidanindemnityequalto100percentof thesalaryfortheperiodsetoutintheletterofappointmentorother documentissuedbytheappropriateauthoritywithintheOrganization concernedatthetimethattheengagementoftheshorttermconference interpreterisconfirmed; (d) Foranyreasonotherthaninsubparagraph12(a),andwithout prejudicetosubparagraph12(e)below,ifthecancellationiscommunicated afterthebeginningoftheappointment,theshorttermconference interpretershallbepaidanindemnityequalto100percentofthesalary derivedfromthatengagementinrespectoftheunexpiredperiod; (e) Asaconsequenceofthecancellationofmeetingsowingto circumstancesofforcemajeurewhichpreventeitherparty,forreasons beyondtheircontrolandindependentoftheirwill,fromfulfillingtheir

obligations,5theOrganizationshallpaytheshorttermconference interpreteranindemnityequalto50percentofthesalaryfortheperiod setoutintheletterofappointment,ifsaidcancellationiseffected30days orfewerpriortothescheduledstartingdateoftheappointment. (f) TheOrganizationshallreimbursetheinterpreterforcosts,authorized bytheOrganizationwithinitstravelpolicylimits,thattheinterpretermay haveincurredindirectconnectionwiththatappointment; (g) Asageneralprincipleinrespectofcancellationindemnities,theshort termconferenceinterpretershallmakeeveryefforttofindequivalent employmentfortheperiodinrespectofwhichsuchindemnitiesare payable,andifemploymentisobtainedwithanOrganizationorthirdparty, theindemnitypayableshallbereducedbyonedayforeachdaythereof.
III.Remunerationpolicy
13.
Theremunerationofshorttermconferenceinterpretersemployedby OrganizationspartytotheAgreement,whetheronadailyormonthly basis,isspecifiedinAnnexAhereto. Appointmentsshallbeformalizedbytheissuanceofacontractby Organizations.Thecontractshallindicatethespecificperiodof engagementandthenumberofdaystobepaid,aswellastheapplicable remunerationrate. SubjecttotheprovisionsofthisAgreement,specificallyparagraph32 (Workload),onedailyrateshallbepayabletotheinterpreterforeach contractday,adaybeingdefinedasa24hourperiodfrommidnightto midnightorpartthereof(includingpublicholidayswithintheperiodof contract). Byreferencetothesevendayweeklycalendar,thesixthandseventhdays shallalsobepaidtointerpreterswhentheyareundercontractoutside theirprofessionaldomicile. Similarly,suchsixthand/orseventhdaysshallbepaidtointerpreters undercontractattheirprofessionaldomicileiftheemploying Organizationhasrequestedthem,eitheratthetimeofthefirmofferor thereafter,tobeavailabletoworkonthosedays.Suchdaysshallbepaid irrespectiveofwhetheranysuchinterpreterisactuallyassignedtowork onthosedays. ThesalaryratessetoutinAnnexAarenetofbothincometaxandstaff assessment.

Dailyremunerationrate
19.
Monthlyremunerationrate
20.
Thefollowingprovisionsshallapplywithrespecttomonthlyrates: (a) AshorttermconferenceinterpreteremployedbyanOrganizationfor acontinuousperiodof60daysormoreshallbeemployedfromthefirstday onthebasisofamonthlyappointmentandthemonthlyrateconditions; (b) Themonthlysalaryundersuchappointmentshallbedeterminedusing themethodologyindicatedinannexA; (c) Whenaperiodofemploymentatdailyratesisextendedinsuchaway thattheextension,togetherwiththeoriginaldurationofthecontract, exceeds60days,theprovisionsgoverningmonthlyappointmentsshall applyfromthe61stday; (d) Forshorttermconferenceinterpretersemployedonmonthly appointments,leaveshallaccrueattheratespecifiedintheStaff RegulationsandRulesoftheemployingOrganizationandprorataforeach partofamonth.TheOrganizationmayindicatetheperiodsfallingwithin theemploymentperiodwhentheaccruedleavemustbetaken,provided thattheshorttermconferenceinterpreterisgivenatleast15daysnotice; (e) Attheendofanappointment,theunusedleavedaysshallbepaidin accordancewiththeStaffRegulationsandRulesoftheemploying Organization.
Remunerationduringtravel
21.
Thefollowingprovisionsshallapplywithrespecttoremunerationduring travel: (a) Thetravelrulesapplicabletotheregularstaffofanemploying Organizationshallbeapplicabletothetravelofshorttermconference interpreters; (b)Whenashorttermconferenceinterpreterisrequiredtotraveltoaduty stationawayfromher/hisprofessionaldomicile,s/heshallbeequally entitledtotheapplicablesubsistenceallowanceinaccordancewiththe policyandpracticeforregularstaffoftheemployingOrganization. (c) ForthepurposesofthisAgreement,authorizedtraveltimeofshort termconferenceinterpretersisworktimeforallpurposes,asforregular staff.Thetraveldatesshallbespecifiedinthecontractwheneverpossible. Accordingly,exceptwhereitisagreedinadvancethatanynecessarytravel

IV.Travelconditions
General
22.
ExceptasmaybeotherwiseprovidedinthisAgreement,thetravelrules applicabletotheregularstaffoftheemployingOrganizationwhileon officialtravelshallbeapplicabletothetravelofshorttermconference interpreters.Incasesofnonlocalrecruitment,travelshallbeprovidedfor theshorttermconferenceinterpretertoproceedfromher/his professionaldomicile(orfromanotherplacewithinthesamecost)to her/hisplaceofworkandreturn.Thisprovisionshallnotprecludeany arrangementwherebycostsmaybesharedbetweentheemploying Organizationandapreviousorsubsequentemployerininstanceswhen theperiodsofemploymentareconsecutive.TheOrganizationsshallmake everyefforttoensureuniformityofpracticeinrespectoftravelrules. Notravelshalltakeplacewithoutatravelauthorization,includingprior medicalandsecurityclearanceswhereapplicable.ThehiringOrganization shallnotbeheldliableintheeventthatashorttermconference interpreterdoesnotprovideappropriatemedicalcertificationpriorto her/hisengagement.Failuretodososhallresultinthewithdrawalofthe offerorterminationofappointmentwithoutcompensation.The employingOrganizationshallinformtheshorttermconference interpreteroftheserequirementsatthetimeoftheproposalofwork. WhenanOrganizationofferstheshorttermconferenceinterpretera contract,itshallinformher/himofthetravelarrangementsitintendsto make.Thisinformationcanbeprovidedviatheofferofappointmentor otherofficialwrittencommunication,suchasemailnotification.Ifthe shorttermconferenceinterpreteracceptsthecontract,s/heshallalso acceptwhatevertravelarrangementsaremade,unlessher/his professionalobligationspriortoorsubsequenttoher/hiscontractare suchastorenderimpractical,intheopinionoftheOrganization, participationinsucharrangements. ApplicableDSAshallbepayabletotheshorttermconferenceinterpreter duringthelengthoftheassignmentwhileontravelstatus,includingany traveldaysinadditiontothenormallengthoftheassignmentwhichs/he

Stopoversandrestperiodsduringairtravel
26. Inschedulingthedepartureofaninterpreterforameeting,theemploying Organizationshallensurethatwhentraveltakesplacebyair,ormostlyby air,thedeparturetakesplacesufficientlyearlythat(inthecaseofa journeywithnointermediatestopovers): (i) Ifthescheduledtraveltimeforthejourneyisbetweensixandten hours,theinterpreterisnotrequiredtocommencedutywithin12 hoursafterarrivingatthedutystation; Ifthescheduledtraveltimeismorethantenhours,theinterpreteris notrequiredtocommencedutywithin24hoursofarrivingatthe destination;
(ii)
Dailysubsistenceallowance
27.
Ashorttermconferenceinterpreterengagedtoserveinadutystation awayfromher/hisprofessionaldomicileshallbeentitledtoreceivethe applicableDSAinaccordancewiththeDSAratesestablishedbythe InternationalCivilServiceCommission(ICSC)andinaccordancewiththe traveladvancespolicyoftheemployingOrganization.Theconditionsfor thepaymentoftheallowanceshallbethoseapplicabletotheregularstaff oftheOrganization,includinginrespectofadjustedrates(e.g.,when accommodation,transportationand/ormealsareprovided)and supportingdocumentationrequirements,aswellas,wherenecessary, recourseprocedures.

31. (a)Atnotimeshallfewerthantwointerpretersbeassigned6perbooth. (b) Nointerpretershallbeassignedastheonlymemberofateamcapable ofprovidingrelayfromagivenworkinglanguage. (c) Inthecaseoftwolanguagemeetingsservicedfromonebooth,at leastthreeinterpreterscapableofworkingintobothlanguagesshallbe assigned. (d) InthecaseoftheArabicandChinesebooths,specificallyreferredtoin paragraph33below,atleastthreeinterpretersshallbeassignedtothe booth,ofwhomatleasttwomustbecapableofworkingintotwoofthe languagesused. (e) Moreinterpretersshallbeassignedwhen: (i) Thelanguagecombinationsaresuchthatfewerinterpreters wouldnotbesufficienttocoverthem; (ii) Numerouswrittenpresentationsaretobegiven; (iii) Thetechnicalorscientificnatureoftheconferencecallsfor extensiveinsessionpreparation. (f) TeamsincludingoneormoreGroupII7interpretersshouldcomprise enoughexperiencedpivotsinthesameorotherbooths.GroupII interpretersshallthusnotberequiredtoproviderelay.

Workload
32. (a) ItshallbetheresponsibilityoftheemployingOrganizationtoensurea normalworkloadforinterpreters.Inthiscontext,anormalworkloadisone thatcomplieswiththeconditionsstipulatedintherelevantresolutionsof theUnitedNations,pursuanttothe1974reportoftheJointAdvisory Committee,whichestablishedtheseworkloads. (b) Accordingly,nointerpretershallbecalledupontoworkatmorethan twomeetingsperday.Thereshallbeabreakforaperiodofnoshorter thanoneandahalfhoursbetweensuchmeetings. (c) Similarly,nointerpretershallbeassignedformorethantwoandahalf tothreehoursfromthetimewhenthatinterpreterisrequiredtobeon duty.Aninterpreterwhohasbeensummonedtodutyandhasarrivedat theplaceofassignmentatthescheduledtimeofassignmentshallbe deemedtohavebeenassigned,evenifthemeetingtowhichthat interpreterhasbeensummonedhasconcludedorhasbeencancelledinthe meantime. (d)Similarly,nointerpretershallbecalledupontoworkmorethaneight meetingsonaverageperweek,aweekbeingaperiodofsevenconsecutive days.Forperiodsofemploymentoffewerthanfivedays,anormal workloadisfivemeetingsinathreedaycontract,oramaximumofseven meetingsinafourdaycontract.Themaximumperiodoverwhichmeetings maybeaveragedshallnotexceedtwoconsecutiveweeks.Foreaseof reference,atableindicatingtherespectivenumberofassignmentsis attachedasAnnexC. (e) Shorttermconferenceinterpretersshould,wheneverpossible,be givenreasonablenoticeofmeetingsoutsidenormalworkinghours. (g) Exceptonthelastdayofcontract,forthepurposesofworkload calculation,andwithoutprejudicetothemaximumweeklyworkload establishedinthisparagraph,alatehourmeetingstraddlingmorethanone dayshallcountasonemeetingonlyandtowardsdayone. (h) Interpretersassignedafter20h00shallhaveabreakofatleast12 hours. (i) If,inagenuineemergency,anOrganizationisunabletoimplementthe aboveprovisionsregardingweeklyworkloadandifadequatetimeoff cannotbegivenwithintheshorttermconferenceinterpreter'speriodof employmentinaccordancewithsubparagraph32(d)above,itshallgrant thatinterpretercompensationinaccordancewiththetermssetforthin AnnexD. 33. Exceptfortwolanguagemeetingsservicedfromonebooth,thereshallbe onebooth,workinginonedirectiononly,fortheofficiallanguagesofthe Organizationconcerned.However,owingtoashortageofmultilingual interpreterswithArabicandChinese,itmaybenecessaryinthecaseof

Disclaimerforbroadcasting
34. ForthepurposeofthisAgreement,thetermbroadcastingrefersto transmissionbytelevision,radioandwebcasting8foronlineuseorfor downloading,asappropriateunderarrangementsforaccess,in accordancewiththepolicyoftheemployingOrganization. 35. TheOrganizationsshallconsulttheProvisionsgoverningBroadcastingof Interpretation(AnnexE).Intheeventofwebcastingofinterpreted sessions,thefollowingdisclaimershallbeprominentlydisplayedontheir respectivewebsites: Theinterpretationofproceedingsservestofacilitatecommunicationand doesnotconstituteanauthenticorverbatimrecordoftheproceedings. Onlytheoriginalspeechisauthentic. 36. Anaudio/videofileofinterpretationshallbethepropertyofthe employingOrganization.Whensuchfilesarebroadcastorotherwise madepubliclyavailable,anyresponsibilityorliabilityshallbevestedinthe Organization.

VIII.Settlementofdisputes

Everyeffortshallbemadetoresolvedisagreementsbetween Organizationsandshorttermconferenceinterpretersinaninformaland expeditiousmannerwithaviewtosettlingthemwithoutrecoursetothe proceduresoutlinedinparagraph40below. Disputesbetweenashorttermconferenceinterpreterandan Organizationarisingoutoftheapplicationofanindividualletterof appointmentshallbesettledthroughtherelevantproceduresandunder thesameconditionsapplicabletotheregularstaffoftheOrganization concerned,oranyotherprocedureprovidedforintheletterof appointmentorinthisAgreement. DisputesbetweenAIICandanOrganizationorOrganizationsarisingoutof theinterpretationorapplicationofthisAgreementshall,inafirststage, bethesubjectofdirectconversationsbetweenAIICandtheOrganization orOrganizationsconcerned,withaviewtosettlingthedispute;ifno settlementcanbereached,thetwopartiesshallreferthematteras rapidlyaspossibletoajointlyagreedthirdpartyforanopinion.Onthe basisofthatopinion,thepartiesshallendeavourtofind,withina reasonabletimeframe,amutuallyacceptablesolution.

Listsofeligiblecandidateswhohaveappliedforreclassificationshallbe circulatedtoallparticipantsandAIIConemonthpriortoeachmeeting. 1. Paragraph32oftheAgreementspecifiesthenormalworkloadofinterpreters,andall Organisationshaveagreedthatitistheirresponsibilitytoimplementitsprovisions.Ithowever alsorecognisesthatgenuineemergenciesmayarisewhenthisisimpossibleandenvisages compensation,preferablyintheformoftimeoff,forinterpreterswhentheyhaveworkedmore thannormal. 2. Thereisnosuchthingasaplannedemergency.Therefore,whetherintheformoftimeoffto compensateforextendedmeetings(whenareliefteamshouldhavebeenprovided)orincash tocompensateforanexcessiveweeklyworkloadwhennootherinterpreterswereavailable, compensationshouldbelessattractivethanadequateadvanceplanning. 3. Compensationshouldhowevernotbepunitive,norshoulditbebasedonaonceandforall flatrate(suchastherestrictedteamrate)butshoulddependontheamountofextrawork requiredoftheindividualinterpreterandthedegreeofplanningerroronthepartofthe Organisation. 4. Excessworkloadmaytaketwoforms:eithertheinterpreterhasbeenrequiredtoworkat meetingslastinglongerthanthenormaltwoandahalftothreehoursfromthetimewhenthe interpreterisrequiredtobeonduty,orhehasbeenrequiredtoworkmorethan8meetings onaverageperweekstipulatedintheAgreement. 5. Extendedmeetings:anextendedorlongmeetingcanbedefinedasameetingorseriesof meetingswhichhavelastedmorethanthreehours(plusagraceperiodof5to10minutes)since thetimewhentheinterpreterwasrequiredtobeonduty. Compensationforextendedmeetings: 6. Anytwoextendedmeetingsworkedduringtheinterpreterscontractperiodshallcountasthree meetingsforthepurposeofcalculatingtheweeklyworkload. 7. Insuchanemergency,ameetinglastingformorethanfourhourswouldcountastwomeetings, whileallnightendofnegotiationmeetingswouldhavetobecalculatedprorata. 8. PROVISIONSGOVERNINGBROADCASTINGOFINTERPRETATION
1. Allmeetingparticipantsshallbemadeawareofthespecificcircumstancesfacedbyinterpreters intheeventofbroadcastingandshallbeinformedoftheimportanceof: a. makingwrittenspeechesavailabletointerpreterswellinadvance; b. deliveringstatementsatareasonablespeed. 2. If the Organization deems that an audio/video record of a meeting is not of sufficient quality or accuracy,theOrganizationmayeither: a. refrainfromreleasingsuchrecord;or b. arrange, in exceptional circumstances, for rerecording of the relevant parts of such record,providedthatitistechnicallyfeasible. 3. If an interpreter is required for the rerecording of any part of the proceedings, such re recordingshallbeundertakenonthebasisofmutuallyagreedconditions. 4. Interpreters shall be informed, at the time the offer of work is made, that their work may be broadcast,itbeingunderstoodthat,inprinciple,GroupIIinterpretersshouldnotbeassignedto broadcastmeetings. 5. If numerouswritten presentations areto be given, an additional interpreter shall be assigned in eachboothforbroadcastmeetings,pursuanttoparagraph31(e)(ii)ofthisAgreement. 6. Tothe extent possible,Organizations should ensurethat recordings ofthe interpretation clearly relatetotheimmediatecontextofthemeeting. 7. Organizations wishing to make such recordings available on their websites for an unlimited period of time shall ensure that appropriate verification and correction measures are in place, suchasthosedescribedinparagraph2above. 8. RecordingsshallbeusedonlytofurtherthemissionoftheOrganization(s)concerned. 9. To the extent possible, written verbatim records shall not be discontinued in favour of recordingsofinterpretation.
