TFS Investments to perform groundbreaking ceremony for revitalized Fultonia complex

Mayor Swearengin, and project leaders to speak on the importance of private and public partnerships

(FRESNO, CA) TFS Investments will cut the red ribbon to expose the finale of their two-year project to revitalize downtown. The company is building phase two of their 32-unit, state-of-the-art Fultonia complex starting in late December. The community is invited to attend the groundbreaking ceremony Friday, December 20, 2013 at 10:30 AM at 541 N Fulton Street (project site). The site is vacant land on the west side of Fulton Street and south of Thomas Ave. The ceremony will feature Fresno community leaders, elected officials such as Mayor Ashley, Swearengin, District 3 Councilman Oliver Baines and TFS Investments Owner Terance Frazier. Community members will have the opportunity to put the shovel in the ground and break ground for this new project. South Tower is the heart that connects downtown to the Tower District, said TFS Investments Fultonia project manager, Chris Foxen. To be involved in an effort, that not only brings housing to a place where homelessness and poverty is greatly present, but also brings the community together to renew what is ours, is an amazing accomplishment that improves the downtown lifestyle. TFS Investments dedicated the revitalization of the Fultonia complexes to recreate impoverished and failing units into contemporary, stylish apartments. They began the revitalization process in early 2011 with the drive to push for improvement in the neighborhood and surrounding areas of the Tower District. Once completed, Fultonia West will consist of 32 newly constructed mixed-use affordable housing units. The units will range in size and offer one- to three- bedroom apartments. The complex will also consist of eight live/work units and stays consistent with the City of Fresnos initiative to go green. Rents will vary depending on bedroom size, household incomes, and certain units will be affordable to families whose income is at or below 80% of the area median income as established by U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Caf Aroma, a newly opened coffee shop in the Fultonia community, is hosting the soft groundbreaking reception at 11:00 AM, featuring sensational specialties such as sweet potato pie and peach cobbler from local vendors Glorias Catering, Gloria Hall, and Mamma Ellens Sweet Potato Pie, Jeanne Logan.
