1.INTRODUCTION A sign of Allahs !od" Almighty mercy to#ards His creation lays in the fact that He send heavenly $oo%s, s&ch as the commandments received $y Prophet 'oses peace $e &pon him, The (o$le )&ran received $y Prophet 'ohammad peace $e &pon him. *n all of these $oo%s Allah !od" Almighty #arned people a$o&t their main enemy i.e. +atan". Ho#ever, d&e to the fact that the ma,ority of people deserted Allah !od" Almighty and His messages to people, the ma,ority of people do not %no# the first thing a$o&t their main enemy i.e. +atan" and the mechanisms $y #hich He affects them #ith. (o#adays, if yo& as% a person a$o&t +atan and ho# does He affect him- most pro$a$ly yo& #ill hear one of the follo#ing ans#ers. !n !theist" He #ill tell yo& that +atan does not e/ist. ! #hristian" 'ost 0hristians thin% that +atan is a mystical fig&re that e/ists $&t it does not affect people #hat so ever. ! Muslim" He $elieves that +atan e/ists, ho#ever, he does not %no# the mechanism $y #hich +atan affects him #ith. This ignorance regarding the mechanism $y #hich +atan affects people $y is very dangero&s and destr&ctive as it #ill $e sho#n in this article. *n addition it #ill $e sho#n in this paper #hy Allah !od" Almighty #arned people in every heavenly $oo% a$o&t +atan and His deception. 2.The Noble Qura Allah !od" Almighty thro&gho&t the ages sent revelations to g&ide people to the right path and to lift them thro&gh %no#ledge to a dignified stat&s. The c&lmination of these revelations is seen in the last revelation of Allah !od" Almighty to man%ind #hich is the (o$le )&ran. messenger 'ohammad peace $e &pon Him. *n it Allah !od" Almighty states in clear details the mechanisms $y #hich +atan affects h&mans #ith. +&ch that people #ill not $e fooled $y +atan and $e saved from His destr&ctive infl&ence. The fact that the (o$le )&ran is a $oo% of %no#ledge and mercy to people is stated clearly in it in chapter 12 verse 34.
The translation of the abo$e $erse is" 34. And Allah !od" Almighty sends do#n from the )&ran that #hich is healing and mercy to those #ho $elieve, and it increases the #rong5doers nothing $&t loss.

*t is %no#n from the st&dy of the (o$le )&ran and the teachings of Prophet 'ohammad peace $e &pon him that every h&man has the follo#ing. 1. The (o)"e o& o e$el&* The voice yo& spea% #ith #hich is referred to as the voice of oneself. This voice has a characteristic fre6&ency that disting&ishes it from the voices of other people. And #hen a person thin%s 6&ietly he or she hears this voice in his or her head i.e. the same voice the person spea%s #ith". This is called the voice of oneself #hich is the voice yo& spea% and thin% #ith. 2. A "o'+a )o De()l* *t is also %no#n from *slamic teachings that a companion devil is assigned to each and every h&man at $irth. This devil strives to mislead and to ca&se pain to the person he is assigned to. The p&rpose of assigning s&ch a companion devil is a test from the creator to people, to see #hether &nder all these temptations a person #ill t&rn $ac% to his creator and follo# his commandments or not. The manner $y #hich the companion devil +atan" affects h&mans can $e %no#n f&lly from the (o$le )&ran $y thin%ing and reflecting &pon the follo#ing )&ranic verses. Allah !od" Almighty states in 0hapter 12 verse 78 the follo#ing.
The first step in ans#ering the 6&estion as to ho# yo&r companion devil can #hisper to yo& and at the same time hide from yo& can $e ded&ced from the statement made in the a$ove verse #here it is stated that the devil is an enemy for h&mans. And th&s an enemy can inflict ma/im&m damage if he made yo& thin% that he does not e/ist and this is &s&ally done $y the enemy camo&flaging himself. And share their money and children and ma%e promises to them. B&t +atan promises them nothing $&t deception. Allah !od" Almighty teaches &s that +atan tries to $efool and to tric% h&mans #ith His voice. The 6&estion no# arises as to the nat&re of the voice of +atan. Allah !od" Almighty gives &s the ans#er to this 6&estion in verse n&m$er 8 in chapter 118 of the (o$le )&ran, as follo#s.

This man 'ohammad PBUH #ho is acc&sed of so many things, if people only &nderstood His message and the infinite mercy contained therein they #o&ld love him and revere Him. >ig&re ? states a story #hich happened #ith Prophet 'ohammad PBUH.
F)4ure 2* 0omparison $et#een the ideas +atan #hispers to h&mans #ith and those e/perienced $y people s&ffering from mental illnesses and dist&r$ances. >ig&re 4 sho#s a scientific proof to the ded&ction from The (o$le )&ran regarding the manner $y #hich +atan affects people $y. +&ch that Allah !od" Almighty states in The (o$le )&ran 4.173" that +atan is an open enemy for h&mans. Any enemy #ants for his opposition to feel degraded, s&ffering, despair, and eternal p&nishment. +ince +atan is an enemy for h&mans th&s it can $e concl&ded that He #ants people to s&ffer, feel pain, and have eternal p&nishment. *n concl&sion it can $e ded&ced that +atan is the sole reason for mental dist&r$ances of h&mans. To bla$+he'e a4a) $# Allah 17o%2 Al')4h#.* +atan #ants people to earn the anger of their =ord and to end &p in Hell. *n order to achieve this the companion devil of every h&man #hispers ideas in his or her mind telling the person false ideas a$o&t his creator. =i%e for e/ample, that Allah !od" Almighty has a son Jes&s Peace $e Upon Him", #hich is something that earns the anger of Allah !od" Almighty to the person #ho $elieves it. For4e#&ul e$$* +atan #ants yo&r life to $e a sham$le, th&s in order to achieve this He %eeps placing meaningless ideas in yo&r head, there$y ma%ing yo& forget the important events in yo&r life. The translation of the abo$e $erse is" 173. : people eat of that #hich is la#f&l and good on the earth, and do not follo# the footsteps of +atan. ;erily, he is an open enemy to yo&. *n the a$ove verse Allah !od" Almighty instr&cts &s not to follo# the steps +atan lays do#n $efore &s, #hich means that %o o# perform the action +atan #ants yo& to perform as He instr&cts yo& to #hen He #hispers an idea in yo&r mind telling yo& for e/ample to commit ad<ery, to harm yo&rself or others, to $laspheme against Allah !od" Almighty, etc. This advice is f&rther reinforced in the teachings of Prophet 'ohammad peace $e &pon him, #hich states the follo#ing. %ahih &o'hari (! boo' containing a collection of narrations of Prophet Mohammad P&)*+ Narration No. ,-./" %atan comes to 0ou and tells 0ou who created this1 and who created this12 until *e sa0s who created 0our 3ord1 %o if 0ou e4perience this then see' refuge with !llah (God+ !lmight0 and stop. Th&s it can $e concl&ded that the correct manner to deal #ith the #hispers and ideas of +atan is to firstly, remem$er Allah !od" Almighty and remem$er also that these ideas containing harm, l&st, $laspheme, and dist&r$ing imaginations, are all from +atan and that yo& sho&ld not ponder a$o&t them nor go in a vicio&s cycle of $laming yo&rself for these intr&sive ideas and that yo& sho&ld go on #ith yo&r life ignoring these false ideas and #hispers and that yo& sho&ld thin% #ith yo&rself the ideas yo& #ant to thin% a$o&t not those of yo&r companion devil.
