Safe Working Environment
With safety and ergonomics as key issues together with latest tehnology the Explorac 220RC is made the safest and most user friendly rig of its type.

Rotation unit
The through the head system and above head swivels and blowback are all designed and built for optimum performance, low wear characteristics and easy maintenance.

Remote controlled drillers panel

The control panel can be set up at a distance of 10 meters from the drillrig for maximum visibility and safety. The ergonomically designed panel offers comfortable and precise control over drilling, rod handling and sampling. Engine, compressor and hydraulic performance is monitored on an all weather display as well as eventual alarms and discrepancy reports.

Rod handler
The rod handler is a proven and versatile component of the rig. It provides totally hands free loading, unloading and stacking of drillpipe both from the rig and from a rod truck or racks that can be positione anywhere within a 210 degree arc to the side or rear of the rig. It is operated by remote control, by either the driller or helpers.

Power pack
The Explorac 220 RC is powered by a electronically governed Caterpillar C18 engine with emission data surpassing Euro 3 standards.

Features
Remote controlled panel

Cylone (E220RC)
The efficient, high volume sample cyclone is rig mounted and hydraulically retractable. Fitted with a sample collection box and individually operated doors, produces accurate and fast sampling while minimising dust. The cylone is tiltable and enables cleaning and replacement of the hightech, long life ceramic wear components by personnel standing on the ground.

Compressor
The Atlas Copco XRX 12 compressor is a new 30 bar pressure two stage rotary screw compressor. Compact and lightweight, it is ideally rated for RC drilling and requires low engine power leading to significant fuel savings. Multiple connection points are provided for safe positioning of an auxillary compressor and/or booster compressor. All air line pipes are steel rated to 70 bar.

Breakout table
A versatile fully hydraulic table guides and locks the drillpipes and drilling tools through a max. 305 mm free opening. A sliding key for standard pipe slots. A handsfree wrench provides safe breakout performance.
