The Master of Science in Engineering Management Program is directed toward individuals with technical backgrounds who are moving or anticipate a move into management positions. This program develops technical management skills by combining qualitative approaches and quantitative techniques in a balanced curriculum, which strengthens engineering credentials and develops managerial competence. The MSEM Program in the Department of Industrial and Management Systems Engineering at the University of South Florida prepares todays engineers to become tomorrows managers, leaders and entrepreneurs. The new breed of leader must be well versed in current technical alternatives, and possess the managerial skills necessary to oversee enterprises and ensure their profitability. Such a leader is comfortable making decisions where engineering insight into development, production and service is also an invaluable ingredient for success.
Admission Requirements:
1. A baccalaureate of science degree in Engineering from a regionally accredited institution. Other baccalaureate of science degrees in technical fields may be accepted on an individual basis. A minimum grade point average of 3.0 out of a possible 4.0 for all undergraduate work taken during the last two years of the applicants studies. GRE may be required based on undergraduate performance (720 minimum score for quantitative and 400 minimum score for verbal sections). At least two years of work experience in engineering or management. Otherwise, one or two semesters of internship may be required. A resume and a letter of recommendation. International prospective students are required to have a minimum score on the TOEFL test of: 79 internet based 213 computer based 550 paper based

The Master of Science in Engineering Management Program
is a multidisciplinary graduate degree program directed toward engineers who want to advance into management and executive roles. This degree program is available on campus and to you anytime, anywhere, through distance learning at USF.
The Engineering Management core addresses basic issues, methods, and techniques important to every manager.
The Industrial and Management Systems Engineering Department also offers Graduate Certificates to upgrade professional skills in specialized areas. These certificates are offered on campus and online. MSEM students may apply for these certificates at the beginning of their graduate program.

Transfer of Credits
With the Program Coordinators approval, up to 12 credit hours of appropriate graduate course work may be transferable into the MSEM program once the student is admitted.
