Something to remember is that may people that believe "Once-Saved" has been taught all their lives
just as I was but I forgot what I had been taught and studied for myself and found out that is was a
lie. Many of the scriptures that a person reads they are putting more to it then it actually mean for
instance, Lets compare getting saved to running a race now once we get saved that is the beginning
of the race, now what is our goal? To make it to the finish line…. Same way with our Salvation we
have to make it to the finish line and that finish line is Heaven.. (those who endure to the end the
same shall be saved) May verses that people use to support the Once-Saved use it in a way that says
they have already finished the race which is false if you have already finished the race then you
better be standing in Heaven

HERE IS A GOOD VERSE FOR THIS …

HEBREWS 3:12-14 "Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in
departing from the living God; but exhort one another daily, while it is called "Today," lest any of
you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. For we have become partakers of Christ if we
hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end,"

There's that word again - "unbelief." What did Jesus say, "If you believe." The above text suggests
that one can believe in Christ, and then be deceived into unbelief. The Israelites who died in the
wilderness, could not enter into the promised land because of "unbelief." Their disobedience was
proof of their disbelief. (Hebrews 3:19) If we believe, we will obey. If we refuse to obey, it is
because we do not truly believe in the rightness of God.

MATTHEW 24:13 "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."

I JOHN 1:7 "If we walk in the light .... the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin."

ROMANS 11:22 "Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity;
but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off."

I JOHN 2:24 "Let that therefore abide in you, which ye have heard from the beginning. If that
which ye have heard from the beginning shall remain in you, ye also shall continue in the Son, and
in the Father."

The words HOLD, WALK, CONTINUE, ABIDE, REMAIN, all suggest an ongoing relationship,
rather than a one time decision. The word "if" stresses an ongoing choice between options.

II TIMOTHY 2:12 "If we endure, we shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny

us."

JOHN 15:1-6 "You are already clean (saved) because of the word which I have spoken to you.
Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away;

If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and
throw them into the fire, and they are burned."

Here clearly are believers who are "saved." They have been forgiven of their sins. They are clean.
Yet Christ tells them that they will be cut off the tree like a withered branch, and "cast into the fire,"
unless they continue to abide in Him.

Again notice the words ENDURE, AND ABIDE are commands to continue. Again the word "if"
suggests alternatives, and free choice.

I CORINTHIANS 9:27 Paul himself said, ". . . lest by any means, when I have preached to others, I
myself should be a cast away." (rejected)

If anyone was in a "saved" condition, if was Paul. The apostle to the Gentiles - stoned, imprisoned,
whipped, shipwrecked, all for the cause of Christ. Yet here Paul says there is a chance that even He
could be "cast away," if He does not continue to abide in Christ, and thereby keep His
commandments.

ROMANS 11:17-20,21,22 Paul speaking to a Gentile convert says, "...some of the branches were
broken off, and you ... were grafted in....." "Do not be haughty but fear, for if God did not spare the
natural branches He may not spare you either." "Therefore consider the goodness and severity of
God; on those who fell severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness.
Otherwise you also will be cut off."

First please notice that "some," not all, of the "natural branches" (biological descendants of
Abraham) were "cut off" "because of unbelief." God has not broken His covenant with Israel. His
covenant with Abraham continues to this day for any Jew who comes to believe in Christ. Paul here
tells the Gentile convert that He has been grafted into the tree (the true Israel - the believing
descendants of Abraham). He has become part of the church. He is blessed of God. He is saved. His
name has been written in Heaven. Yet just like the unbelieving Jews, he can and will be cut off if he
does not continue in the faith.

SOME WILL DEPART

I TIMOTHY 4:1 ". . . some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits"

I TIMOTHY 5:15 "For some have already turned aside after Satan."

REVELATION 2:4 (Speaking to the church of Ephesus) "you have left your first love." "Repent"

II PETER 2:20 "For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge

of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end
is worse with them than the beginning."

II PETER 1:9-10 Peter tells the brethren to give all diligence to their growth in knowledge and
virtue, "for he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he
was cleansed from his old sins." (He lacks faith, virtue, knowledge, temperance, patience, godliness,
brotherly kindness, charity.) "Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your calling and
election sure, for if your do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied
to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ."

Peter here seems to be saying that if one does not "give diligence" or attention to Christian growth,
he could stumble and fall away and thereby loose his election or entrance into the everlasting
kingdom of Christ. In other words - he could loose his salvation.

HEBREWS 10:26 "For if we sin (are sinning or continue to sin) willfully after we have received the
knowledge of the truth there remaineth no more sacrifice for sin."

(This verse was improperly translated from the Greek because there is no present participle in the
Greek.)

This verse describes exactly the condition of the callous individual who believes that he has been
saved and therefore cannot ever be lost. He goes on sinning without even trying to stop, all the while
believing that he is in a saved condition. There is nothing that God can do for this person, because he
does not sense his need.

EZEKIEL 33:13 "When I say to the righteous he will surely live (eternally), and he so trusts in his
righteousness that he commits iniquity, none of his righteous deeds will be remembered; but in that
same iniquity of his which he has committed he will die (the second death)."

Here is the man who believes that his salvation is a fact, which nothing can alter. He has been
righteous and will receive his reward. Because he believes that his reward is certain, he becomes
careless. He does not feel his need of continued heavenly support. He does not stay close to Christ or
pray for victory. And what happens? He "commits iniquity" - of course. The text is clear - he will die
in his iniquity, with his sin unforgiven.

WHAT HAPPENS WHEN A RIGHTEOUS MAN TURNS AWAY

FROM RIGHTEOUSNESS?

EZEKIEL 18:26-27 "When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness, commits iniquity,
and dies because of it, for his iniquity which he has committed he will die (the "second death").

Again, when a wicked man turns away from his wickedness which he has committed and practices
justice and righteous, he will save his life (eternally)." (Ezekiel 33:13-16)

No man can be righteous without the indwelling Holy Spirit, so this "righteous man" must be in a
saving relationship with God. Yet if he turns away from righteousness he will die (eternally).

MALACHI 3:7 "Return to Me, and I will return to you, Says the LORD of hosts."

THE MESSAGES TO THE SEVEN CHURCHES

REVELATION 1:1 - 3:22 John the apostle was given a message for each of seven churches. Each
message was given by Christ Himself. Each message gives a command, and each message gives a
promise of reward for those who follow the command.

To Ephesus, the message is given by the One "who holds the seven stars in His right hand, who
walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands" (Rev. 2:1, 1:13,20). The command is given:
"Repent and do the first works..." (Rev. 2:5). The promise: "TO HIM WHO OVERCOMES, I will
give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise of God" (Rev. 2:7).

The implied message would be that whomever does NOT overcome, will NOT eat of the tree of life.

To Smyrna, the message is given by "the First and the Last, who was dead and came to life:" (Rev.
2:8). The command is given: "Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life" (Rev.
2:10). The additional statement is made: "HE WHO OVERCOMES shall not be hurt by the
second death" (Rev. 2:11).

The implication - that the one who is NOT faithful, and does NOT overcome, will NOT receive th
crown of life, and will die the second death. The second death is the "lake of fire" (Rev. 20:6,14).

Remember that these messages were not given to unbelievers. They were given to the churches.

To Sardis, the message is given by "He who has the seven Spirits of God and the seven stars" (Rev.
1:16,20). The command: "Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die"
(Rev. 3:2). And the promise: "You have a few names even in Sardis who have not defiled their
garments; and they shall walk with Me in white, for they are worthy. HE WHO OVERCOMES
shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I
will confess his name before My Father and before His angels" (Rev. 3:4-5).

If Christ does not confess the name of a sinner before His Father, that sinner will be lost. His name
will be blotted from the Book of Life, and he will die the second death. (Rev. 20:15). No one will
enter the New Jerusalem who's name is not found written in the Book of Life (Rev. 21:27).

To Philadelphia, the message is given by "He who is holy, He who is true, He who has the key of
David, He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts, and no one opens" (Rev. 3:7, 1:11,18). The
command is given to "Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown" (Rev. 3:11).
The promise: "HE WHO OVERCOMES, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he
shall go out not more. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My
God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him
My new name" (Rev. 3:12).

The "crown" here referred to is the "crown of life." To receive this crown is to receive eternal life.
The "key of David" is the key to life - eternal life (Rev. 1:18).

To Laodicea, the message is again given by Christ, "the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the
Beginning of the creation of God;" (Rev. 3:14). To command: "buy from Me gold," and "white
garments," and "eye salve." Hear my voice and open the door" (Rev. 3:18-21). The promise: "and I
will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me" (Rev. 3:21). "To him who overcomes I will
grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcome and sat down with My Father on His throne"
(Rev. 3:21).

Anyone who refuses to open his heart to Christ will not receive eternal life.

CONSIDER A FEW EXAMPLES OF PERSONS

WHO WERE IN A RIGHT RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, AND THEN FELL
AWAY. SOME REPENTED AND WERE RESTORED AGAIN, SOME WERE
NOT.

David: PSALM 51:11 "take not Thy Holy Spirit from me."
v. 12 "Restore unto me the joy of Thy salvation."

Saul: I SAMUEL 10:6,9 Saul was filled with the Holy Spirit and prophesied. He was converted.
v. 9 "God gave him another heart."
I SAMUEL 31:1-6 Saul committed suicide rather than be captured by the enemy.
I SAMUEL 28:6,16 The Lord refused to communicate with Saul.
v. 16 The Lord had departed from Saul.
I SAMUEL 28:7-25 Saul consulted with the spirit medium of Endor.
I CHRONICLES 10:13,14 "for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to inquire of it: He
(God) slew him."

Solomon: Was close to the Lord when he began his reign as king. Then he married many heathen
wives and they turned his heart away from God and he built alters to their false gods. In his old age
he returned to God but not in time to save the kingdom of Israel from the result of his influence.

Judas: He walked with Jesus for three years, and accepted him as the Messiah. Then he betrayed
him.

The parable of the Prodigal Son: He was free to leave again if he chose. (Luke 15:11-32)

1 Timothy 4:1 "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the
faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,

This false doctrine is justification of sin after you have been born again. In some churches
around the country, you will hear loud and clear from the pulpit, "now that you're saved, you
always will be." They will use such scriptures as,

John 10:29,
"My Father, who gave them to me, is greater than all and no man is able to pluck them out of my
Father's hand."

What you are forgetting is that man can pluck himself from "the faith" in Jesus and His word. A
person has the choice whether to practice sin or not. God created man in His image, giving man from
the beginning, the free will to decide if his love and heart is for God or the world. (No man can serve
two Masters) God gives us his grace, in His Holy Spirit, to stop sinning, not to continue to excuse
ourselves in it. In Revelation 2:4-5, Jesus told the church at Ephesus they had left and abandoned
their first love for Him and His word. The ultimate end of doing that is recorded in the message to
the church at Sardis.

Revelation 3:5,
"He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot his name out of
the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels."

Jesus is warning His people out of love, to be overcomers by abiding in His resurrection power. If
we remain faithful, He will not blot out our names from Heaven. My friends, if your name has been
written in the book of life through faith in the blood of Jesus Christ, and then you turn on Jesus or
His word by practicing willful sin, and never repent, you are on a road that leads to eternal
destruction. And only God, not any one of us, knows how long that road is ……You can be ashamed
and surrender to the Lord from your backslidden way or keep sinning and die. Just as a newborn
baby stumbles and falls, as he grows up, you're going to make mistakes after you've been born again.
For our bodies are yet to be redeemed and they war against the Holy Spirit, who now lives in our
hearts. But you shouldn't willfully or deliberately sin against the Lord. Anyone who teaches any
doctrine that enhances and justifies such sin, are themselves deceived. And to teach that physical
death is the reward for willful sin, and Heaven is still their destination, is to mock the power of Jesus'
blood. For all people are going to die bodily anyway, except for those who will be raptured. The
reward for unrepented, willful sin is the Lake of Fire! Again, only the Lord knows when it is too late
and you've gone past the point of no return. Jesus repeatedly warned His apostles against allowing
sin to enter back into their hearts,
(Luke 21:34).
Willful sin is really counting the blood of the covenant an unholy, powerless thing. The power to live
is in His cross, blood, and resurrection. These truths take away sin, and wash and renew the spirit
and the soul.

Teaching "once saved" can give a new Christian the impression that he can continue to live a
worldly, carnal life. It enhances the working of the carnal mind and body. The carnal mind and body
wants to sin, and wars against the Spirit of God now working in the heart of the believer. A babe in
Christ must never be taught that any sin is acceptable or excusable. We all must remember that sin of
any color caused the death of our Lord Jesus.

A person is no longer a "babe in Christ" when he knows and has received in his heart, the truth
about a particular teaching, and then deliberately refuses to follow the Spirit's lead. The sin changes
from ignorance to willfulness. He is now a backslider, not a babe. The Bible does not teach that there
is a permanent class of carnal Christians. Carnal Christians are backsliders who have now found
themselves in the chastening hands of the Lord. This period of chastening and its length is known
only to the Lord. At some point, however, if we refuse His chastening there will be eternal judgment.

Study the following scriptures carefully. Do they suggest that a person who turns from the power of
the blood and Spirit, can still keep life? Did not Lucifer and Adam, in their pre-fall states have
eternal life? What did God tell Adam would happen to him if he rebelled by eating of the tree? God
said, "thou shalt surely die." Death is separation from God. What did Satan, who also lost his
position, then say to Eve? "Thou shalt not surely die." This lie is at the root of the doctrine, "once
saved, always saved."

II Peter 2:19-21,19)
"While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption; for of whom a
man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20)For if, after they have escaped the
pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, they are
again entangled in it, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21)For it
had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than, after they have known
it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them."

Ezekiel 3:20-21,20)
"Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commits iniquity, and I lay a
stumbling block before him, he shall die; because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in
his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood I will
require at thine hand. 21)Nevertheless, if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not,
and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul."

Ezekiel 13:22,
"Because with lies ye have made the heart of the righteous sad, whom I have not made sad; and
strengthened the hands of the wicked, that he should not return from his wicked way, by promising
him life;"

Ephesians 5:5-7,5)
"For this ye know, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous man (who is an idolater) hath
any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. 6)Let no man deceive you with vain words; for
because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the sons of disobedience. 7)Be not ye,
therefore, partakers with them.

Hebrews 10:26-27,26)
"For if we sin willfully after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more
sacrifice for sins, 27)But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which
shall devour the adversaries."

Jesus said that His followers are the light of the world. Willful sin dims and destroys that light. The
more one sins, the dimmer the light becomes. Say no to the sins of the fleshly lusts that war against
your soul.
You are eternally secure in Christ as long as you continue to trust in His shed blood as the only
atonement for your sin. To give any person the idea they can continue in a sinful, impure state,
without ever losing Heaven, is to deny the power of the blood of the Lamb to keep him pure. That
teaching strips the power from the cross and the blood. It opens the floodgates of excuse and
rationalization of sin. It destroys the fear of God within a person. It makes one insensitive to the
convicting, reproving work of the Holy Spirit. This heretical teaching grieves the Holy Spirit, who

commands us to hate sin and to be ashamed at the commission of any sin.

Eternal security is a blessed truth, but the security is in and through faith in the blood of Christ and
the indwelling Holy Spirit! The way eternal security is taught in many circles is a perversion of truth.
All too often, people trust in "once saved," rather than to repent and trust in the blood to forgive and
cleanse.
Walk in the Spirit; let the Lord lead your life. Give up the old carnal ways of living. Jesus loves and
forgives and gives power to overcome to all that turn to Him. Jesus will forgive and take away your
sin, but He will never excuse or cover it up. There is no "Watergate Mentality" in the counsels of
God.

To walk in the Spirit is to walk under His blood and cross, to confess our sin as He makes us aware
of it, knowing that He will forgive it. If confession is real and from the heart, the desire to continue
in that sin is gone. The temptation to sin will attack our minds, but in our hearts the desire to sin will
be washed away. Listen and give heed to Paul.

Galatians 5:16-17,16)
"This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17)For the flesh
lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary the one to the other,
so that ye cannot do the things that ye would

If we are "Once-Saved, Always-Saved", why did Jesus say in Luke 9:62 that a man who puts his
hand to the plow and looks back is no longer fit for the kingdom of Heaven? ("Jesus replied, "No
one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.")

Why did Jesus tell John the Revelator in Revelation 2:5 that there were some churches that were
going to lose their place in heaven if they did not stop what they were doing and begin to do other
things? ("Remember the height from which you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did
at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place.")

1 Peter 1:9
Receiving the end of your faith -- the salvation of your souls. ~ Note: Peter, beforehand, was talking
about ENDURING through the trials of life and having your GENUINE FAITH glorify God at the
end. WE MUST PERSEVERE through whatever comes our way, all the way until the end, THEN
WE WILL BE SAVED.

Heb. 6:4-6
It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and
were made partakers of the Holy Ghost. And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of
the world to come. If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance seeing they crucify
to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.

This is the sin that only the born again Christian can be guilty of because only he has committed his
life to Christ and has been cleansed by His blood. The Holy Spirit has been placed in him as Christ's
personal representative to guide him in his walk with Christ. If he truly believes that "once saved --
always saved" is true, then he would consider it a small thing for him to drift back into his previous
life of sin. He becomes the slave to sin as the Holy Spirit abandons him when he chooses a different
master to be a slave to…This is basically someone who once walked a very very close walk with
God. Someone who went out in His name and touch people, healed thru God and much more and
then just turn his back on God… crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh.. it's not saying
anything about him being crucified again but it's crucify to themselves( they put God to an open
sham)… They have put Him to a open sham… (THIS IS USED FOR ONCE IN GRACE)

Psalm 51:10,11 -
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. DO NOT CAST ME
AWAY from Your presence, AND DO NOT TAKE YOUR HOLY SPIRIT FROM ME. ~ Note:
David knew eternal security was not true, that's why he prayed this. This Psalm is a prayer of
repentance, because David had gone in to Bathsheba and he knew that he wasn't right with God. It's
about salvation because the next verse inclines that he had no joy of God's salvation. The words
"renew" and "restore" indicate a loss of. If we don't repent and respond to God correctly, this Psalm
implies that God will take the Holy Spirit from us. I don't think God put this in His word just to scare
us if it doesn't really happen.

Exodus 32:33
And the Lord said to Moses, "Whoever has sinned against Me, I will blot him out of My book. ~
Note: Someone has to first be in the book before Christ can blot them out of the book. So someone
can't say that they were never really saved to begin with; and just because this is in the Old
Testament, it doesn't mean that it doesn't still stand. These next verses in the book of Revelation are
very similar. ~ Rev. 3:5,6 - "He who overcomes shall be clothed in white garments, and I will not
blot out his name from the Book of Life; but I will confess his name before My Father and before
His angels. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches." ~ Note: What this
is saying is that you must overcome darkness, which happens when you follow Christ (John 8:12).
They first received the word (Rev. 3:3) and had life, but they didn't hold fast. Like them, because we
are the church, we can defile ourselves which would make us no longer have eternal life, but we
would be spiritually dead (Rev. 3:1,4). ~ Rev. 22:19 - and if anyone takes away from the words of
the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life (tree of life), from the
holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. ~ Note: Clearly this means that God
can take your eternel life away, which you now think you have, and TAKE AWAY your part in
heaven (the holy city), and from the promises that are in Revelation. All of this means "Once Saved,
Always Saved" IS WRONG.

TASTELESS SALT is WORTHLESS

Luke 14:34,35
Jesus said, "Salt is good; but if the salt has lost its flavor, how shall it be seasoned? It is neither fit for

the land nor for the dunghill ("kopria" in the Greek, it means "manure pile"). but men throw it out.
He who has ears to hear, let him hear!" ~ Note: In the ancient world, salt was often used as a catalyst
for burning fuel such as cattle dung. The salt of the time was impure and could lose its strength over
time, becoming useless. Jesus' point is that the same is true of a "saltless" disciple. He will be thrown
out. The Greek word for "salt" is "halas." It also means "wisdom and grace exhibited in speech." The
Greek word for "flavor" is "moraino." It also means "to be foolish, to make flat and tasteless." So if
our speech becomes tasteless, we will be thrown out. Maybe you heard this saying before, "watch
your mouth."

THE VINE & THE BRANCHES

John 15:1,2
Jesus said, "I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not
bear fruit He TAKES AWAY..." ~ Note: This is someone in Christ who gets taken away because
they did not bear fruit. The Greek word for "fruit" is "karpos." It means "that which originates or
comes from something, an effect, result; or, work, act, deed; or, praises which are presented to God
as a thank offering." Obviously something a servant of God personally needs to have or else God
will take that person away. The Greek word for "takes away" is "airo." I believe the meaning here is
"to take off or away what is attached to anything; to remove." So this Scripture is about God
removing someone from being in Christ. So clearly, this is about someone forfeiting their salvation.

John 15:6 - Jesus said, "If anyone does not abide in Me, HE IS CAST OUT as a branch and is
withered (note: in order to be cast out, one must first be "IN Christ"); and they gather them and
throw them INTO THE FIRE, and they are burned." ~ Note: The Greek word for "abide" is
"meno." It also means "remain, continue, endure, not to depart, to continue to be present, to remain
as one, not to become another or different." Surely, this is a warning to stay in Christ, which means
it's possible to not do so. To be throw into the fire and burned is clearly about God casting someone
to hell where they will be consumed with fire. This will happen to a former branch in Christ. So this
is a clear teaching of Jesus that it is necessary for us believers to continue to walk in the
sanctification given us at the new birth. We must keep believing and OBEYING HIS WORD (John
15:9,10), or we chose to stop our relationship with Him. That would be some of us not bearing fruit,
which stems from not obeying Him, that causes some to be cast out. Fruit is our outward conduct
which shows our inward character, which then shows that we serve Christ. One way it can be done is
by speaking the truth. For instance, one of the criminals who was crucified with Jesus Christ spoke
the truth when he said to the other criminal that Jesus had done no wrong (Luke 23:41). That was his
friut that he bore in addition to calling Jesus, "Lord." One must speak the truth or have the chance of
forfeiting their salvation.

I have heard one person that believed Once in Grace use Eph 1:13 what about that?
Go to Ps. 51:11 it says "Cast me not away from thy presence and take not thy holy spirit from me"..
and then read 2Tim 4:7-8 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the
faith: 8. Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord the righteous
judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing….

Once in Grace believers use Eph 2:1-3 what about that one? Ok let me ask you do you act like

Adam or do you act like Christ? Do you act like the World? Are you still in the lusts of your flesh,
fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind? Ask yourself, am I?

Romans 6:1-2-3-4-5-6-7-12-20-21-22-23 Grace dose not give you a license to sin, Grace dose not
give you a license to Transgress against God or Christ or His word or Law. Dead things cannot sin.
We were crucified at the alter and if you crucify anything it kills it, it dies.
"The wages of sin is not Eternal Life"

Romans 8:4-5-6-7-8-9-10-12-13-14 Notice the IF in verses 9, 10, 13

Col. 3:5-6-7-8-9-10 Those that are saved by Grace they still want to call things that are a disgrace
Grace. The Bible speaks of those kind of people calling evil good.

1 Tim 4:1-2 You have to have Faith to depart from it, this means they were saved by Grace thru Faith
and Lost It.

you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear

Before you say to me that we are saved by Grace and not by works you should know that I agree
with you (however, in James 2:14-26 it says that faith without deeds is useless).

Before you say to me that God does not take back a gift He has so freely offered you should know
that I agree with you (however, I believe that God allows us to give back that gift).

Before you say to me that we are all sinners and will therefore continue to sin throughout our lives
you should know that I agree with you (but it is the attitude we have towards our sinning - what is
really in our hearts - that is more important).

JESUS said, And if thy hand offend (or causes you to sin in other words) thee, cut it off: it is
better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that
never shall be quenched:
44. Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
45. And if thy foot offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter halt into life, than having two
feet to be cast into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched:
46. Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
47. And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God
with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire:
48. Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched."If your hand causes you to sin, cut it
off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than with two hands to go into hell, where the fire never
goes out. And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life crippled than
to have two feet and be thrown into hell. And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better
for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell,
where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched" (Mk. 9:43-48).

JESUS said, "Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and
shall not be able...." Luke 13:24

To strive as in a contest for a prize, straining every nerve to attain to the object (Luke 13:24)

Are YOU making this type of effort to enter the kingdom doors, as the Lord Jesus advised?
Believe the Lord Jesus, the founder of Christianity! See also 2 Pet. 1:5-10.

Because of the teaching of once saved always saved, grace has been taught as a license for
immorality for so long, and without challenge, that when Scripture is quoted, such as 1 Cor.
6:9,10 or Rev. 21:8, it is disregarded, and the giver of God's Word is falsely accused of teaching
legalism, bondage, works, etc. This reflects how truly dark are the days in which we live!

The ACID TEST question to know if a ministry or local congregation is teaching a license for
immorality as condemned by Jude 3,4 is: Does true grace allow the sexually immoral in heaven? If
their answer is "YES," avoid it like the AIDS virus! To sit under this teaching influence could mean
that your soul and the souls of your loved ones will be eternally damned as a result. To support and
promote such a ministry and teaching is to share in its wicked work (2 Jn. 9-11). This includes your
financial donations! Flee from such a ministry or congregation and encourage others to do the same
before it's eternally too late.

Over the years as I have contended for the faith against eternal security (Jude 3,4), I have met some
people who say they reject eternal security, but then teach a Christian can engage in occasional acts
of adultery, drunkenness, theft, etc. and remain saved. Such usually deny that David lost his
salvation when in unrepentant adultery and murder. Others have said it is possible to lose your
salvation, but it is very hard to do so. Some people will state that you must tell God that you don't
want him before you'll lose your salvation. It is the purpose of this article to examine the Biblical
evidence for these claims to see if they have validity and to ascertain if Scripture states salvation can
be lost with a single act of certain kinds of sin. (Please know that all sin is not of the same degree-
some leads to death while others don't, 1 John 5:16,17.)

How many times must a righteous person sin in order to lose his salvation? Must it be lifestyle
or continuous sinning? Does one have to practice sin before he becomes unsaved or shows
himself never saved to begin with, as some would say? Let's look at God's word.

The Eternal Facts

A true grace teacher declared:

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither
fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with
mankind,
10 Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the
kingdom of God. (1 Cor. 6:9,10,).

According to the above Scripture, if any person is described there he will not inherit the kingdom of
God. So how hard is it to become a bible-defined adulterer or any of the others in the list? Must
a person practice adultery before he becomes a bible-defined adulterer? Must it be lifestyle? Here
are the facts:

And the man that committeth adultery with [another] man's wife, [even he] that committeth adultery
with his neighbour's wife, the adulterer and the adulteress shall surely be put to death. (Lev 20:10)

As just shown, God's word is consistent with the definition of the word adulterer-one who
commits adultery. Hence, any person who commits one or more acts of adultery is an
adulterer. The same can likewise be said about the other words bolded in 1 Cor. 6:9,10. The
definition is one who commits that particular act, whether it is stealing, drunkenness, idolatry, etc.
It doesn't have to be 5, 16, or 113 times or the nebulous lifestyle before they become a fornicator,
idolater, adulterer, effeminate, homosexual, thief, covetous, drunkard, reviler or swindler of 1 Cor.
6:9,10. This is crystal clear, as shown above, with the word adulterer.

It Doesn't Have To Be Continual

or Lifestyle Sinning

Other Scriptures reveal the same devastating truth, refuting the idea that continual or lifestyle
sinning is the only way to lose salvation (or show one was never really saved). For example:

And if he smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he [is] a murderer: the murderer shall

surely be put to death. (Num 35:16)

Again, a single act of murder makes a person a murderer. (That would include suicides, who are
self-murderers.) Such a single act of sin will exclude any person from God's Kingdom, unless he
repents:

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and
sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and
brimstone: which is the second death.(Rev 21:8)

Disowning Jesus

The Lord Jesus told those already saved the following:

But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in
heaven.(Mat 10:33)

Later we learn that all of the original apostles, except Judas who betrayed Jesus, deny the Lord:

Then saith Jesus unto them, All ye shall be offended because of me this night: for it is written, I will
smite the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered abroad.
32 But after I am risen again, I will go before you into Galilee.
33 Peter answered and said unto him, Though all [men] shall be offended because of thee, [yet] will
I never be offended.
34 Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, That this night, before the cock crow, thou shalt deny
me thrice.
35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all
the disciples. (Mat 26:31-35)

So how hard was it for Peter to disown Jesus and fall away? It wasn't very hard and occurred in a
short period of time:

69 Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with
Jesus of Galilee.
70 But he denied before [them] all, saying, I know not what thou sayest.
71 And when he was gone out into the porch, another [maid] saw him, and said unto them that were
there, This [fellow] was also with Jesus of Nazareth.
72 And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man.
73 And after a while came unto [him] they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art
[one] of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee.
74 Then began he to curse and to swear, [saying], I know not the man. And immediately the cock
crew.
75 And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt
deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly (Mat 26:69-75)

Just like Peter, a real Christian can disown Jesus, The Apostle Peter did this by denying he was with
Jesus or knew Him. He didn't have to say, I don't want you (and it didn't have to be lifestyle). What
Peter said was enough to cause Jesus to disown Peter! If Jesus disowns you, then you can't be

his sheep anymore, just like other unsaved people. Christians are described as God's
possessions: his sheep (John 10:26,27; 21:16,16), his bride (Rev. 19:7), his body (Eph. 5:23; Col.
1:24); etc.

Adam and Eve

The first act of disobedience by man in the Bible occurred in Gen. 3. God had forewarned Adam that
the day he would eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil he would die (Gen. 2:17). That
is exactly what happened with a single act of sin. It wasn't lifestyle habitual practice, but a single
act of sin that brought both Adam and Eve to their spiritual death.

David Became An Evildoer

Shockingly, even people exceedingly strong in faith can afterwards stray to the point of committing
sin that leads to death. David did this. David's glaring sins were one act of adultery and one act of
murder, which would exclude him from God's kingdom and place him in the lake of fire (1 Cor.
6:9,10, Rev. 21:8). For at least 9 months, he was a bible-defined adulterer and murderer because of
his single acts of adultery and murder.

Nathan told David:

Wherefore hast thou despised the commandment of the LORD, to do evil in his sight? thou hast
killed Uriah the Hittite with the sword, and hast taken his wife [to be] thy wife, and hast slain him
with the sword of the children of Ammon. (2 Sam 12:9)

Note, David did what was evil. You might say this is no great revelation of truth. Of course adultery
and murder are evil. But false teachers, some of whom say they reject eternal security, would declare
David didn't lose his salvation, even though 1 Cor. 6:9,10 and Rev. 21:8 are so clear. When 2 Sam.
12:9 is coupled with this and the following, we have even more supportive evidence that David did
lose his salvation at that dark time in his life:

David Died Spiritually

When I shall say to the righteous, [that] he shall surely live; if he trust to his own righteousness, and
commit iniquity, all his righteousnesses shall not be remembered; but for his iniquity that he hath
committed, he shall die for it. (Ezek 33:13)

Those who commit iniquity, like David did, die spiritually, according to the above. The following
is also evidence that David lost his salvation for a time:

But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, [and] doeth
according to all the abominations that the wicked [man] doeth, shall he live? All his
righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed,
and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. (Ezek 18:24)

When the righteous turneth from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, he shall even die
thereby.(Ezek 33:18)

When a righteous [man] turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and
dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die. (Ezek 18:26)

Sadly, some will reject the clarity of these Scriptures and try to distort the facts to say that David
didn't lose his salvation (die) after committing adultery and murder. Such a person is as bad or
even worse than an eternal security teacher, even though he might outwardly deny the teaching
of eternal security.

Note: The strong warnings of Ezek 18:24,26; 33:13,18 were not just hypothetical, as some say, for
such happened to David.

Even David knew he was an evil doer during that time and hence one who died spiritually (not
physically) because of his sin:

1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had
gone in to Bathsheba. Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according
unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2. Wash me throughly from
mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin [is]
ever before me. 4. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done [this] evil in thy sight: hat thou
mightest be justified when thou speakest, [and] be clear when thou judgest. (Psa 51:1-4)

Furthermore, some like to misuse Psa. 51 to say David only lost the joy of his salvation. They
somehow miss how David humbly and sorrowfully asked God for mercy because of his sins, as just
cited, which is also how Jesus said the repentant tax collector got saved (or justified):

13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as [his] eyes unto heaven, but
smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified [rather] than the other: for every one that
exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted (Luke 18:13,14)

After David prayed for mercy, forgiveness (and salvation), he also asked for other things like the joy
of his salvation to be restored (Psa. 51:12). Psalm 51 is the prayer of a man who had backslidden.

Don't Look Back From The Plow

The Lord must have shocked the people of his day by teaching the following:

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the
kingdom of God (Luke 9:62,)

Another translation says:

Jesus replied, "No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom
of God." (Luke 9:62, NIV)

There is no essential difference between these translations because those who do enter God's
kingdom will serve Him there "And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of
the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:"

(Rev. 22:3). Not to be fit for service in the kingdom of God is not to enter the kingdom of God,
but to go to the lake of fire. Either way, looking back will exclude one from the kingdom of God.

God wants us to be faithful to him and love him more than any person or thing in this world. The
Lord elevated this to a salvation issue (Mt. 10:37-39; Lk. 14:26,33). James commented similarly:

Yo Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?
whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. (James 4:4)

Christian people who chose to be friends of the world become enemies of God again as they were
before their salvation. That is the same as committing spiritual adultery. Remember also Lot's wife
who looked back one time and was destroyed (Gen. 19:26). Jesus mentioned her:

32.Remember Lot's wife.

33. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall
preserve it.(Luke 17:32,33)

Your Words

People have a hard time believing that words can endanger a person to hell fire, but Jesus actually
taught this:

But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of
the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but
whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire. (Mat 5:22)

Through this single act, such extreme danger of hell fire becomes a reality, even for people
previously saved. This parallels another eternal truth about words. Jesus also taught:

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned. (Mat 12:37)

Your words can bring condemnation or the opposite which is justification. Remember, Peter
denied Jesus with his words.

Eternal Sin

It is also through words that a person can commit eternal sin, which will never be forgiven:

But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of
eternal damnation:
30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit. (Mark 3:29,30)

Notice please that eternal sin is committed through words. It also seems from this Scripture and the
historical background of the book of Hebrews, that some of the people addressed there committed
eternal sin and couldn't be renewed by repentance (Heb. 6:4-6). Raging fire was awaiting them, even
though they had been previously sanctified by the blood of the covenant (Heb. 10:26-29). There was
no eternal security for them and there is none for us today.

Idolaters

Paul wrote to those already saved and knew that their spiritual identity could be changed to idolater
by a single act of this sin:

Neither be ye idolaters, as [were] some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and
drink, and rose up to play. (1 Cor 10:7)
Another interpretation is: Do not be idolaters, as some of them were; as it is written: "The people
sat down to eat and drink and got up to indulge in pagan revelry."

Paul referred to the golden calf incident in Exodus 32. Hence, by that single act of idolatry they
became idolaters and he knew the same could happen to these Christians he addressed. Remember,
idolaters will go to the lake of fire (Rev. 21:8).

The Mark of the Beast

In spite of the clear warning regarding the mark of the beast, many will take it because of the heavy
pressure to do so. The saints who yield will lose their salvation with this single act of disobedience:

And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his
image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10. The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into
the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of
the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
11. And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day
nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his
name.
12. Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and
the faith of Jesus. (Rev 14:9-12)

Faithfulness to Jesus to the end of our life is needed for salvation, even though it might mean
severe persecution and physical death: Remember those who endure to the end the same shall be
saved..

Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast [some] of you into
prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and
I will give thee a crown of life.
11. He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh
shall not be hurt of the second death. (Rev 2:10,11)

In Summary

There are various ways for a Christian to lose his salvation. Sometimes a single act of sin can
do it, while at other times it won't happen as abruptly, as with being lukewarm (Rev. 3:15,16).
Furthermore, one doesn't even have to sin to lose their salvation. They can lose it by believing a
false gospel (1 Cor. 15:2 cf.1 John 2:24,25) or preaching a false gospel (Gal. 1:8,9). What a shock
this is to those who have been deceived by those who change grace into a license for immorality by
teaching David never lost his salvation or a single act of sin like adultery, suicide or drunkenness

won't cause this. Jude identified all who change grace into a licence for immorality as ungodly
(Jude 3,4), divisive, who don't have the Spirit (v. 19) and for whom blackest darkness is reserved
forever (v. 13).

False teachers that declare lifestyle sinning not only ignore or twist the above Scriptures, but also
dangerously portray the possibility of a loose, wild, immoral person as being a Christian. Ponder 1
Cor. 6:9,10 and the list there. (See also Eph. 5:5-7 and Rev. 21:8.) According to such false teachers,
declaring their unscriptural version of grace, if a person previously saved commits occasional acts of
fornication, idolatry, adultery, being effeminate, homosexuality, theft, covetousness, being
drunk, reviling and swindling all at the same time he remains saved. This is a horrible and deadly
distortion of the true Christian described in the Bible. Please note that Paul didn't have to consider
the lifestyle of Elymas to know he was a child of the devil (Acts 13:10). See also 1 John 3:10.

Moreover, such a teacher proclaiming lifestyle sinning is no real friend of the immoral, since he is
only endangering their souls to hell by misleading them with a false security and their so-called
grace and gospel message. They are not being merciful or loving by preaching their lies and tickling
the ears of the backslidden. The loving and vital message the immoral need to know is they must
turn from such sin for salvation's sake.

False shepherds say the righteous person who becomes an evil doer can still go to heaven, but Jesus
made it crystal clear such will instead rise to be condemned and thrown into the fiery furnace:

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life; and they that have
done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. (John 5:29)

The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that
offend, and them which do iniquity;
42 And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
(Mat13:41,42)

Both Are Just As Deadly

The bottom line difference between eternal security teachers, who unashamedly declare a
Christian can commit the occasional acts of sin such as cited in 1 Cor. 6:9,10 and remain saved,
and those who say they reject eternal security but teach the same, is non-existent! There really
is no difference. Both are just as deadly and are misleading people to hell by their message. If
you are a real Christian flee from such a congregation and so-called "pastor," regardless how
convenient it may be to remain. Don't endanger your eternal soul and the souls of those you
love by attending and supporting such a ravenous wolf in sheep's clothing. Don't share in his
wicked work (2 John 10,11).
