Hi Everyone, As you have likely already heard, I resigned earlier today. First, to all of you: THANK YOU!!!! You have been the most committed, dedicated, talented, and self-sacrificing group of individuals I could have ever imagined working with. Thank you again and again and again. Second, I wanted to share with you what I sent to the board this afternoon and also share some words of encouragement. Please send on to those I have missed in error. My statement to the board: It is with an extremely heavy heart that I ask for you to accept my resignation as the Executive Director of MNsure. I feel that this action is necessary to protect the welfare and privacy I will make myself available on an advisory basis over the next few months to assist with the transition. I want to express my sincere gratitude to my executive team and staff, staff at the Minnesota Department of Human Services, and staff at MNIT. Many have made incredible personal sacrifices to make MNsure a reality. I could not have asked for a more talented and dedicated group of people to work with over the past few years. I am honored to have been a part of starting something that will truly improve the lives of thousands of Minnesotans and I am very sad to leave, but I can no longer sacrifice the welfare Thank you and goodbye. My words of encouragement: Many of you will continue to toil in the trenches with significant personal sacrifice for the greater good. To help you persevere, I want to share something that was shared with me by a very wise person. [There are sure to be plenty of slings and arrows, pointing at the imperfections and flaws in our collective efforts...one of my favorite sayings from a Buddhist Nun was ...When you have an arrow shot at you out of anger, pain, self-doubt, hatred, insult...those arrows all fall at your feet. They only cause pain when you pick them up and stab yourself with them. Don't pick up those arrows shot by those who want you to fail...rather stand and be proud that you truly are on the right side of history. The side that says providing health care to Americans is the best of our realizing the dream and promise of a nation that can rise to its best. You are the best.]

I just want to stress the last part You are the best and I could not have asked for more. Please persevere. April
