So besides the information in the CV i will try and express my rugby playing style to see if it suits your selection for the BYU team. So my strong points and key attributes would be my height and very very long arms I have had my arms measured and they are 5cm longer than my body and I use this in rugby with large hand offs and being able to off load the ball very cleanly to a team mate putting him in the gap, if I have a player running off me at speed I will put him though the defence. Now Im not talking Sonny Bill Williams type of offload my arm reach is bit longer and my height allowed me to get over players making the offload allot safer and direct. But this isnt what I am known for around the Western Cape and with my Team. What I am deadly at is much more of a surprise because of my size players never expect it and its just natural for me. Its hard to express how good i am at it without bloating to much but honestly practice it i go down to the field and place cones down all around kinds looks like a mess, i hold a rugby ball and i step. I love it i dont run over players i rather step them at full speed and 9 out of 10 times I always get passed. I would like to say i am the "side step master" in open play. Kick off's or when team kicks the ball to me, In open play the Massi crowd at home games get exited its what i enjoy the most about rugby when i step a player so hard that he is still standing still and i am already 5m passed him, and he stands there still wondering what happend. If its open play then i would hope your ready for some excitement, what Cheslin Kolbe did to the USA team in the Junior IRB world Cup this year is what i do to players when playing touch rugby and in matching. I don't run into contact, i don't try over power people and people think its weird when they see this Tall guy stepping players all over the field. Saying this i am not afraid to run into a crash ball but i like to use my strong points. On Defence the coaches have been training me to play fullback even thou have spent most of the time on the wing there is a much senior player and this was his last year playing so they had me on the wing falling into fullback later on in the match. So under the high ball i would like to say i am safe and i am very clever with my body position when catching the ball making sure i have foot in touch for kicks out side the 22 and calling for marks is no problem. I have got a big boot that i do still need to work on for some real strange reason i kick allot better under pressure than when i am just kicking with no one in front of me. Goal kicking i have been working on my 40+ meter kicks they not always over i would say 1 in 7 maybe but i have no coaching and its all self taught and i do admit i don't spend much time on the field kicking. i would rather be playing touch rugby. Tackle i do put in some huge hits and i am not afraid to take on the biggest guy on the field, i know my dad has seen me nail some much larger front row players and has had to look away because he knew they were unhappy. I try to gym 4-5 days a week with weekends being my off days not that rugby season is finishing and if you are keen to have me i would go see Peter who is a Sports personal trainer he trains international athletes. Not just people that want to lose some weight and he is a very good trainer.
