INSPECTION AND TESTS Following tests shall be carried out on prefabricated cable trays: I). Visual inspection and checking for a) b) c) d) II). Quality and thickness of raw material Dimensions as per approved drawing. Quality of welding (before galvanising for G.I. trays) Preparation of metal surfaces (for G.I. trays).

After galvanising, G.I. cable trays shall be subjected to following tests as per IS:4759. a) Mass of galvanising coating -- The average thickness of zinc coating shall not be less than 86 micron. b) c) d) e) Uniformity of galvanising coating. Adhesion of galvanising coating. 3 samples from each lot shall be taken for testing. From each lot and size of tray, measure length of 10 trays and average length to be multiplied by number of trays to arrive for total length. f) Load bearing capacity and point load.

III).

All the above tests shall be carried out in the manufacturers works in the presence of Purchasers representative. In addition to the above tests, the cable trays and its accessories shall be subjected to stage inspection at works and inspection at site for final acceptance.

IV).
