Cut and bond bricks

Cut and bond specials provide an economical alternative to many standard specials with the added bonus of greatly reduced lead times. Cut brick Cut and bond brick

Cut and bond specials are epoxy bonded which makes them suitable for both internal and external applications where angled special shaped bricks would normally be employed.

Gable end bricks

Hanson offers a cutting service for gable end bricks, removing the need for bricks to be cut on-site and ensuring product quality and accurate colour matching. For further information on our cut and bond service, contact us on: 08705 258258.

Prefabricated arches
Our prefabricated arches can be manufactured using our own arch bricks, which we manufacture in a variety of styles and colours, or we can incorporate bricks of a specific design and specification. These are then placed into moulds and cast in concrete, rendering the arch a solid structure which we deliver intact, ready to be lifted into place on site. To find out more about how you can save time and money onsite using prefabricated arches please contact our brick specials team on 08705 258258.

Hanson manufactures a range of prefabricated arches, these are a fast and simple method of constructing arches that also reduce onsite wastage and make it easier to add attractive detailing to a development.

PS/SD - pistol and soldier bricks

British Standard brick specials
The use of soldier courses gives opportunities to break up mass and add interest to large areas of brickwork, in complementary or contrasting colours and textures. This group allows the neat and effective detailing of soldier courses around internal and external 90 degree returns.

RD - radial bricks
British Standard brick specials
Radial specials are primarily used to form circular detail brickwork in plan, without having tapered joints. They also give a true, concise curve to brickwork without the unattractive stepping that would otherwise be seen if standard facing bricks were used.

AR - arch bricks and arch systems

British Standard brick specials
Arch or tapered bricks are used to form semicircular, bulls eye, segmental or other forms of decorative arch units to several different radii specified in the standard. Our pre-packaged arch sets make the construction of traditional voussoir-style window and door arches simple and accurate. Although purpose made specials have always been available, they have, in the past, only been produced to order. This is especially true of arches. We have now enhanced this facility by manufacturing a wide choice of classic arch sets that can usually be delivered direct to site within three weeks from acceptance of order.

Note: This format is not as versatile in applications as AR.1 series because the longer voussoir joint accentuates splays. Tolerance allowances limit versatility further.
