my ambition Our country is proud of being the birth place of great heroes and immortal souls like Yogi

Aurobindo, Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Netaji Subhas, Sardar Patel, Savarkar, Rana Pratap, Sivaji, Saheed Bhagat Singh who have sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country. Among them I prefer Mahatma Gandhi as my favorite hero. The place of Gandhi in the history of India is assured among the greatest personalities. In his period many intellectuals and brilliant people were born but in Mahatma all the qualities and virtues of sages are found to have been blended curiously. Only the above few personalities come in comparison with Gandhi so far his greatness is concerned. As a student Mohandas school career was not very- successful. opposed the idea of going to a foreign to take meat and liquor there which he was never brilliant. He was indifferent as a student. His He went to London to qualify for the bar. When his relatives land on account of their orthodoxy, Gandhi made a promise not kept up faithfully.

In England Gandhi developed a liking for imitating English Character. He made friendship with the English people. In the year 1893 when Gandhi returned to India with a degree in Law, he practiced law, pleaded in support of cases that were true and just. His taste for law as a profession diminished when he was invited to South Africa by an Indian merchant to assist him with legal advice. In South Africa, Indians were being humiliated and treated with contempt. He had also been humiliated for travelling in a compartment reserved for the whites. In 1915 he drew his attention to the problems of the farmers and labourers of the country. Under Gandhi's leadership the farmers waged a fight against the white Indigo planters in Champaran. Gandhi succeeded in his fight against the Britishers on account of his great moral strength and for his great devotion to the principle of truth and non-violence. He called upon the people to non-cooperate with a government of satanic character. He was widely acclaimed as the father of the nation. His life is an example of truth, non-violence and simplicity. His sacrifice for the unity of religious group and for the freedom of India is unique. We hardly find a man who is just equal to him. I love him from the core of my heart. Indeed he is my favorite national hero.

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel - The Unsung Hero of India Behold, this is Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sardar Patel is an unsung hero of India's freedom movement I was in my second grade then. I had this General Knowledge book based on India. There was a dedicated chapter on Our National Heroes. My conscious self saw, for the first time, names Page 1

my ambition of Mahatma Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, Lokmanya Balgangadhar Tilak, Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore. Yes, I remember the titles India bestowed on her proud sons. I was also delighted to see daughters in that list The Nightingale of India - Sarojini Naidu, her picture I clearly remember. But all this left me bewildered my innocence perhaps didnt let this sink in easily after all heroes to me meant Anil Kapoor & Jackie Shroff! So how are these, not-young men, being referred to as heroes? As always, dad came to my rescue. He devoted some time for some Gyaan on British Raaj in India, and our national movement for Independence. Some very brief Gyaan; after all he knew what quantum would be enough to saturate my little senses! I looked back at the pictures, and one by one, dad walked me through the achievements of these new heroes in my life. The pictures were such that, I developed a connection with Mahatma Gandhi and Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. I guess, because Gandhi ji appeared kind, and Jawaharlal Nehru, was anyway a favourite due to the Childrens day tag. For the other heroes, well, my fondness wasnt really well defined. There goes my introduction to the National heroes of India. And as life took its course, the penchant for my two best-loved National heroes Gandhi ji & Nehru ji, seemed to get dense. And of course, the curriculum at school also backed it. My favourite heroes featured in my textbooks, in my public holidays, in my currency notes, in my postage stamps, in my postal address and in my debates & declamations. I felt pride in having recited At the stroke of the Midnight Hour, and having sung Vaishnava Janto. Yes, the bond was getting stronger as I grew up. And I was enjoying the accolades I received for carrying their mentions and verses in my speeches and my answer sheets. I was gallant of myself, that amongst my other classmates, I did cognise pretty well about India, Indias freedom struggle and yes, Indias National Heroes! This fascination occupied me and circularised within me; and I carried it all through my schooling and my college years. It was one of these lonely Sunday nights when I was all by myself in Hyderabad. Taking a break from my usual office travails, late in the night, a self-confessed fan of Indian History switched to the Internet to read up the Freedom Struggle of India. I dont quite recollect the trigger, but yes, I was enthusiastic about it. And as I kept devouring facts, what surfaced was a constant citation to Sardar Patel. I kept skipping the instances carrying his references. I eventually reached a point where articles about Gandhi ji and Nehru ji became repetitious. And interestingly, references to Sardar Patel, this untouched National Hero, started luring me. Page 2

my ambition And tasty mentions like the best Prime Minister we never had, obviously drew my attention. With every tasty mention, I was now realizing that Sardar Patel was the part of Indian History I did not know; rather did not bother to know. The Iron Man of India, who I knew all these years only for this Title conferred upon him. My mind slowly compelled me to make him my Google search keyword. Sardar Patel. That night, I began reading about Sardar Patel. that began my fresh journey through Indias Freedom Struggle. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. And with

I read his stirring speeches his masterpieces of oratory. And as I went on discovering him, history unfolded the saga of an unsung hero. Unsung, despite his contribution to India's freedom and then turning colonial India into a unified Independent nation. Phew! I shut my eyes and rested my head on the wall behind, as all what I read about him, percolated to my patriotic senses. I was guilty. Here was a man who toiled to weave together the physical fabric of the nation, and to date, he remains unknown and unsung. How could I have not observed his greatness all through my childhood, my schooling? How could his mentions fade away in footnotes of my textbooks? It took me back to the memories of the first day when I had the General Knowledge book in my hand and I remembered, now, that I did see a stern faced man. My dad had told me that Sardar Patel was the Iron man of India. Upon hearing that, I had looked at the picture again. Maybe the nomenclature used for him, the description about him was not amicable enough for a 2nd grader to be delighted about? I remember I fell for the compassion and kindness evident in the pictures of Gandhi ji & Nehru ji. And some sort of repulsion kept me away from the stern-looking Sardar Patel, for he appeared to be a strong man', who would take no nonsense anyone. Like a strict headmaster. Naive, but true. And he also did not feature on the currency notes, or have roads and memorials celebrating him. Perhaps Sardar Patel himself would have discounted the need for a memorial, especially one that would commemorate his life. But it was strange that Sardar Patel, except for brief mentions on official occasions, is hardly remembered or discussed today when his relevance seems to be growing by the day. I now accomplished that much before the people of India were obligated to worship one dynastic clan, long before political charlatanism became the order of the day, long before opportunists slickly professed to be only serving a larger social cause, there was another leader who had ensured our unity and integrity. When the nation totters from one crisis of leadership and governance to another, when myopic regional parties daily shake the unitary foundations of the state, when public life seems to have become the avenue to a swashbuckling lifestyle, Sardar Patel's inspiring and corrective example outshines that of many others. Page 3

my ambition Unlike the political genre of today, when it came to his kith and kin, Sardar Patel was the unwavering purist. His attributes, which scared me earlier, started looking like assets for the country. India thirsts for a leader like Sardar Patel today. A master strategist, an astute organiser, an epitome of statesmanship and a champion of lost causes Sardar Patel is definitely the best Prime Minister India never had. Sardar Patel saw himself differently. In 1949, a year before his death, he said, 'I have considered myself a soldier in the service of Hindustan and I shall be a soldier to the end of my life. May I cease to exist when I deflect from this path of service'

My AMBITION A man without ambition is dead. A man with ambition but no love is dead. A man with ambition and love for his blessing here on earth is ever so alive This is a short quote but it has got a very large & expanded meaning. It shows us what is Ambition? And what is the importance of Ambition in todays modern computer age? Today, I think, one must be ambitious to achieve great success. Ambition ignites our souls and makes us work hard, it makes us set an aim in life and work hard to achieve it. But its not as easy as it seems in sentence, it needs a lot struggle, it makes us sacrifice our other works our fashion our friendship our relationships our fun our games etc. One can work for his ambition and he may do all the things simultaneously theres no need to sacrifice anything but only time, but its not easy to do all this simultaneously. But one should remember that its not for the whole life, its just for a few years until you achieve your success or your ambition. You will have to bear the people around you. They will call you nerd, they will call you book worm. And a time will come when you cant stand these things more. Ambition not only needs struggle but also perseverance. its true that great works are performed not by strength but by perseverance. But always remember, "Perseverance is not a long race; it is many short races one after another." You will have to continue your work, and you will have to try to dodge the difficulties or face them.

I firmly believe that school is much more than what we understand it to be. Education enlightens a person in the same way a lamp brightens a dark room. But in order to ignite the light of education in a person, a teacher plays the role of the lamp carrier. Through my educational life I've considered education as a process to not only gaining knowledge but also a method of igniting our thoughts, and the process of development of a person starts from his early school age. Page 4

my ambition In the developing country like India where half of the population lives below the poverty line, a movement to give the children their right to equal education is required. Having come across students who dropped out of schools because of lack of interest, I feel the urge to be a part of system where a teacher is not only qualified to teach but who can also be a mentor to the students. Teach for India is one such initiative which is working on motto of ending inequity in education and ideas of educating children beyond the conventional methods of our educational system. I realized that by being a Teach for India fellow not only I will be imparting knowledge to the young ones but will also help them in grooming. So it work not only for education sector it also work for community development. I purposely want to join the fellowship as oppose to working in other education-focused organization are as follow:1 .Having received the best education myself, I understood the power of knowledge and the impact it can have on the society. By putting me in the class room of young guns of India , Teach for India provide me the chance to advertise new generation not to make the mistakes which they seems to make in absence of proper resources and guidance. 2 .Prior to and during the two-year Fellowship, Teach For India provides Fellows with adequate leadership training to ensure that they are successful leaders in any field once they complete the Fellowship. 3 .Finally and foremost thing it makes me feel me... Ever person has some aims and ambitions of his life. Some get success to achieve these goals and some fail. Mahatma Gandhi sacrificed his life for the sake of India. Everybody is bom to serve some purpose. Every one should be aware of his ambition in life. Desires may be many, but an ambition is a different thing. I have thought long and well about the ambition of my life. I neither want wealth, nor fame, name nor power. My only ambition is to serve my motherland honestly, sincerely and lovingly. There are many ways to serve our motherland. We can serve the country as an engineer, as a politician and as a doctor. The profession of a teacher is a noble one. An honest teacher is the real builder of the nation. . I desire to become a soldier. I feel I can serve my beloved country best in this way. The army life is so full of adventure, discipline, toughness and risk. All these things attract me most. Wherever the soldier goes, he is received with great respect. A youth in the army uniform with stars and medals fascinates me most. A soldier works with a mission. He is the protector of our honour, wealth and well-being. A soldier never wants a war, but if it is forced upon him he never looks back. One has to be always very alert, active, disciplined and dutiful. A soldier's motto is to do or die. If I get a chance to be a soldier, I will do every I can do for my country. Page 5

my ambition

A person without any ambition in life is like a ship without a rudder he no destination. He does not have any urge to make a start. He reaches now He is tossed about like a straw in the wind. He achieves nothing in life. So everyone should have an ambition in life but simply having it is not enough. Whatever be the ambition, it must be backed up by contain efforts to achieve it. If a person sets an ambition before him, but does or to achieve it, his ambition is no more than an idle dream or a pious resole Different persons have different ambitions the nature of ambition from man to man, depending upon his family background, upbringing, s status and economic condition, etc. Thus, some peoples only ambition in is to amass wealth by fair or foul means it is with this end in view that demand fabulous dowry on the marriages of their sons. Sometimes, they take to anti-social professions like smuggling to make quick money. Corfu has struck deep roots in India because of this ambition. Wealth is not everything in life. Man does not live by bread alone. Ambition of some other persons is to earn fame so that even after their their name lives on. Thus, we find people striving to become top! Journalists, educationists, sportsmen, etc. even though these pursuits mayenable them to earn much wealth. There are others who want neither wealth nor fame but want to humanity. They believe that the service of mankind is the service of Mahatma Gandhi and Swami Vivekanand has laid great stress on alert the sufferings of poor people. Mother Teresa rendered great service to poor and the destitute people who were in need of love and care. Some young boys and girls would like to become film stars. If a pay succeeds in this profession, it will enable him to earn both wealth and far lead a glamorous life. These days, a number of persons also wish to go and settle Dow advanced countries where they can earn more and lead a luxurious life. As for myself, I want neither wealth nor fame. I do not want to become actor. I have no liking for politics also because it is said to be the last re a scoundrel. My ambition in life is to become a teacher. There are a number of reasons for my choice. First, about 35 per cent of the people in India are illiterate. They are steeped in ignorance. They are governed by superstitions. By becoming a teacher, I will be able to remove illiteracy, ignorance and superstitions to some extent. Secondly, though the teachers of our country are ill-paid, yet it is one of the noblest professions. Page 6

my ambition This profession will enable me to translate into my life the Gandhian principle of simple living and high thinking. Thirdly, this profession will enable me to serve the cause of education. According to Plato, education is the turning of the inner eye towards light. By adopting the profession of teaching, I can hope to perform this stupendous task. Fourthly, the teaching profession calls for a missionary zeal and a sense of dedication. I possess both these qualities in ample measure. I have an aptitude for this profession. Therefore, if I join this profession, it will give me job satisfaction. It will mean the fulfilment of my cherished ambition. Fifthly, the students of today are the citizens of tomorrow. This profession will enable me to make my humble contribution in the building of my nation by instilling the spirit of nationalism and patriotism in my students. In view of the foregoing reasons, I am convinced that my preference to become a teacher is a step in the right direction. I will, therefore, spare no effort to achieve this ambition of my life.

My Ambition in Life People have their own dreams in life. It is always a good thing to have an ambition in ones life. A person without an aim or ambition in life is an unfortunate person. Without a set aim, a person can achieve nothing in his life. An ambition is an incentive to a person to work hard and to achieve success in life. Different people have different ambitions. Some persons dream of becoming leaders, politicians and social reformers. Some want to amass wealth, others want to achieve fame and still others want to serve the mankind. There are others who have a craze for becoming poets and writers whereas most of the people generally have a desire of becoming doctors, engineers or scientists. Many young boys and girls aspire to become actors and actresses. Thus ambitions differ from person to person. My ambition in life is to become a teacher. The idea of simple living and high thinking inspires me to take up this profession. The sole object of my life is to lead a life of simplicity and goodness devoted to the service of others. The good examples set by the great teachers of the past are before me. Their life and work inspire me very much to devote myslf to this noble profession. As a teacher, I want to serve my country in my own humble way. There are a lot of illiterate Page 7

my ambition people in India. Removal of illiteracy is the most urgent need today. The role of a teacher is supreme here. I wish to do what I can to educate my countrymen. I am fully aware of the fact that the teachers in our country are ill-paid. A good teacher is a real friend, philosopher and guide of the students. The teacher removes the darkness of ignorance from the minds of the students and fills them with knowledge and noble ideals. I want to fulfil this dream as a teacher. A teacher should be free from corruption. I want to be honest and hard-working in my profession. A teacher should be a model to the students and to the society. India can develop into a great nation if the problems of illiteracy, corruption, superstition and ignorance are removed. I think that I can do my best to remove these problems in my own little way as a teacher. The students of today are the citizens of tomorrow. So I will lay great stress on the character formation of my students. A good teacher is the architect of the destiny of the students. Thus I will play my humble role in the building of my nation. I have nurtured a love for young children from my childhood. As a teacher I can help them to widen their outlook by inculcating the right knowledge. The company of young children will help me to be fresh in my thoughts and outlook. I will try to instill the noble qualities of service, sacrifice, patriotism and nationalism in my students. I shall also try to inculcate in them a desire to learn the truth and lead a noble and virtuous life. In the words of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan, a great teacher and the former President of India, Teachers are the custodians of the highest value. I have great faith in the life of a noble and ideal teacher.

FAVOURITE GAME A game is an activity involving one or more players. Games are played primarily for entertainment or enjoyment, but may also serve as exercise. Everyone in this world has their own favorite games, so do I. My favorite game is football . I often play this with my friend in the evening. I like this game because it is exciting and challenging. Football is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. It is a ball game played on a rectangular grass field with a goal at each end. The objective of the game is to score by maneuvering the ball into the opposing teams goal. The winner is the team which has scored the most goals at the end of the match. Football is played at a professional level all over the world, Millions of people regularly go to football stadium to follow their favorite team, whilst millions more avidly watch the game on television. A very large number of people also play Page 8

my ambition football at an amateur level. In many parts of the world football evokes great passions and plays an important role in the life of individual fans, local communities, and even nations; it is therefore often claimed to be the most popular sport in the world. There are many worldwide international football competition. One of these is the World Cup organized by Fdration Internationale de Football Association. Over 190 national teams compete in qualifying tournaments within the scope of continental confederations for a place in the finals. The finals tournament, which is held every four years, now involves 32 national teams competing. The next World Cup takes place in Germany 2006. The footbaall star I admired most is Edson Arantes do Nascimento, nicknamed Pel, pele is a former Brazilian football player and thought by many to be the finest player of all time. Often considered the perfect attacking player, he was completely two-footed, a prolific finisher, exceptional at dribbling and passing, and was a remarkably good tackler for a forward. He was also famed for his speed and strength on the ball. Since his full retirement he has served as an ambassador for the sport. There are many reasons football is my favorite game. I wish to become a professional football player. I learnt teambuilding, discipline as well as teamwork through playing football.

Badminton is my favorite among all the sports that i know.Badminton makes me more healthy and more active in doing something that uses a speed and strenght.I think badminton is the most beautiful sports. It make me good as a healthy person because every time i play badminton my body feels good wholeday. It makeas you good also. And badminton have 2 equipment that you need only rocket and shuttlecock. I think that playing sports like badminton feeds my body to become healthy.Playing badminton is very interesting because every battle that you join theres a excitement but at the end of the game there is only one winner and losser. That badminton reminds me when my dad wants to teach me some technique but i always hit my enemy when the ball is not passing throught him because i,m trying to hit it. That badminton reminds me also the first gift that my father give me. The common in this sport is even it is not played always of the players they can easily remember it even they are not playing it all the times. The common in playing badminton is the more you play the more friends you got and a challengers come to have a battle to know if you are a great player. Page 9

my ambition Having a sports is good because sports is more interesting than the computers, and cellphones that we use.Playing badminton can make your body have a good body strenghth and active in everything. It can also help you to have a new friends and a new persons to teach how to play it.

My favourite sport is Cricket. Cricket is a wonderful game between the two teams. Each team will have eleven players and two to three substitutes. Out eleven players five to six players will be bats men, and the rest will be a bowlers and fielders and one wicket keeper. Skipper will be appointed to lead the team. It is a team game. Cricket is an one day match and now it is played for threes hours too. Cricket field will have pitch with stamps and bales and two ends, where two bats men will be placed and will get the score by running between the pitches. Two umpires will be placed between the two pitches and the third umpire will be sitting in the room and seeing the match through the video. The umpires has to look at the bowlers and the batsmen playing and take proper decision on declaring the wickets, the wickets may be by catch, run out or stamp out and in the bowling umpires judge the bowls as wide ball, no ball, leg by etc. when umpire is not able to judge some of the wickets then umpire would signal to the third umpire and the third umpire will declare the wicket by cross checking by replying the runs. A one day match has 50 overs (6 balls per over) in the first inning and second inning and at the beginning of the match skippers from both the team will be present for the toss. Winning skipper will be given the choice to select for bating / chasing. In the first Inning the game will go over till the 50 overs (6 balls per over) or till all the Ten bats men are out and then after an hour break the second innings will follow and the second bating team has to chase the score. In case the team is not able to complete the target then the first bating team will be considered has a win. The winning team will be awarded with the trophy and the Man of the Match award will be selected from the winning team. Player who has performed well throughout the game will be awarded Man of the Match. In this game the score will raise depending on the runs the bats men are getting, if the ball touches the boundary line then it is considered has four runs and when the batsmen hit the ball out of the boundary line in full toss then it is considered has six runs. The two bats men will run between the pitch. Skipper role is to lead the team and guide the fielder and discuss with the bowlers when ever there is a glitch. He will also speak to the umpires on behalf of the players. Umpires will discuss with skipper for any problem in the game or weather etc. skipper can take certain decision on the field. Skipper will also be present in the team selection. Skipper has a key role. Next players is Wicket Keeper, wicket keeper also plays a key role. He will be placed behind the stamps. He should be very cautious for each ball. In case if he misfields, the ball may directly go to the boundary and the bating team will get the score. he cannot change the fielding place like other players. Bowlers also play key role to the team. There are fast bowlers, spin bowlers etc. Page 10

my ambition Bowlers should be very cautious when bowling. If he bowls a loose ball the bats men will have advantage of hitting sixes and fours. They should try to take wicket s at the earliest to avoid increase in the run rate by the bating team. If the bowlers are bowlers towards the back side of the batsmen, then it is considered has wide ball, so the one ball & run will be given extra. When the bowler is crossing the pitches then it given has no ball, again there will be extra run & a ball. Bats men are also play key role in the team. In each team at least 5 to 6 bats men will be there, or in some team all the ten to eleven players will be a good batsmen. They are one who get the better score for the team where chase team finds difficult to chase the target or when they are chasing they hit shots and try to touch the target.

Madeline and Her Rabbit A long time ago, there was a little girl named Madeline and all she wanted for her fifth birthday was a rabbit. Her parents tried to convince her to get a dog or a cat, but all she wanted was a rabbit. After weeks of begging, they finally took her to a man that sold Page 11

my ambition every kind of rabbit she could imagine. They were fat, skinny, brown, white, black and some even had spots. All of them were so cute that she almost could not decide on which one to get. Her father told her that if she didnt pick soon, they would have to leave without her rabbit. As they began to leave, she noticed something in the corner of the room where the man was keeping the rabbits. When she looked she saw a very small brown and white spotted bunny hiding underneath some of the other rabbits. The man then told them that it was a runt and it might die soon. Madeline couldnt let something like that happen! She instantly knew she had to take it home with her. All she had to do was convince her parents to let her. Neither one of them wanted to let her take home a sickly rabbit. They were afraid it would die soon after they took it home. Madeline insisted that she take that rabbit home. She pleaded with her parents and finally convinced them that she would take care of the rabbit forever and make sure it became healthy. Her parents relented and once she made it back home, she began to take care of it and show her new pet off to everyone she saw. Madeline named her rabbit Harry and the two became inseparable. Harry went everywhere Madeline did, even to school where she hid him in her desk. To her parents disbelief, Harry soon became a big, healthy rabbit. Harry enjoyed a long and happy life and even though Madeline grew up, she always loved Harry the rabbit. [continues]

The most important person in everyone's life must be our mother. They are the one that carry us for about 9 month without a single sigh. They are the one who give birth to us without complaining about all the pains they have been through. Our mother is one of the people we must respect and love . for me , my mother is the best mother in the world. My mother actually is an ordinary woman but in her tiny appearance lies an extraordinary fortitude, perseverance, a altruistic soul and a very kindly heart. The kind of mother who brought me up with her whole kindly heart, the kind of persistent woman with strong willpower who had to face the toughest challenges in life, and the kind of person who always demonstrated great zeal for every unlucky lives without requiring anything in return and great willingness to help everyone's misery though she did not have much, my mother taught me more than any one else, not only inspired me the strength to overcome hardships in my life, but also left me with invaluable life lessons. My mother is a diligent and determined woman who has left me with the right direction of my road, more importantly, she has helped me appreciate this life as precious gifts of ordinary life and true happiness by her kindly heart. The accident of my aunt gave me another lesson from my mother. My aunt Dung was unfortunately hurt mentally after this accident, and the reserved women became demented, which made anyone scared of her. Unlike other relatives, my mother was the only person who did not ignore her; in contrast, she looked after her very wholeheartedly. Thank to my mother, I was no longer scared of demented people as I used to, but instead, I understood from their eyes the hope to live stable lives. [continues]
