PARISH ADVISORY COUNCIL MEETING

7th May 2009 7.30 P.M.

1. Apologies

2. Minutes of last meeting


Minutes of 1st April 2009 were approved by V. Watts and J. King with the following amendment: Add
M. Jones to the list of those present.

It was agreed to discuss item 6 further at next meeting.

3. Review of actions from April meeting.


• Mission Statement and Prayer to be added to Agenda for next meeting. N. Gorham
N. Gorham to email example with Agenda.
• Damp inside church - to be actioned D. Richardson
• Welcome Pack – rough draft has been prepared which will be available
at next meeting. W. Ablard
• New Parish email address – pac@saintfelix.org.uk. At present directed M. Jones
to Fr. Hennessy. M. Jones to redirect to N. Gorham. Fr. Hennessy to
advertise email address in newsletter. Fr. Hennessy
• Church loop system – Receiver was moved before Easter ` M. Jones
giving a slight improvement. M. Jones said receiver needs re-siting in
St. Josephs Chapel. J. King informed us that the old speakers
in the Hall loft could be used to hide the pick up in to enable improvements
to be carried out.
• Sound system – Further investigation to be carried out. Fr. Hennessy
• Memorial Garden crucifix – Cost circa £550 to action. Fr. Hennessy
• Memorial Garden Pieta – Fr. to organise with C. O’Brien. Fr. Hennessy
• Memorial Garden – Method of internment of ashes to be discussed further
at a later meeting. N. Gorham
• Hall floor – T. Doran to speak to cleaner re polishing of hall floor with
black pad. T. Doran
• Painting of Cooper Room – Will be completed in August after Children’s M. McDonald
Liturgy has finished.
• Presbytery Garage – Unstable, asbestos roof. Costly to rectify - low priority.
• Fence Panel between garage and presbytery needs fixing or replacing –
low priority.
• Trees along driveway to be pruned. W. Ablard
• Sky lights in sacristy – W. Ablard has cleaned the outside but only seen a W. Ablard
slight improvement due to damage thought to be caused by fireworks.
Inside of lights to be cleaned.
• Trees at St. Cecilia need pruning.Thought to be in hand B. Pinto
4. Financial Report

We have a current balance of £10,900 on the cheque account with the exclusion D. Richardson
of £12,500 due for CAFOD for the year and which had to be paid directly out of
our funds held at Diocesan level. In future all CAFOD dues will be paid quarterly,
the first payment of £3801.78 having been sent.

A full Financial Statement was not possible as A. Deveney was not present. A. Deveney

J. King pointed out that it was Cannon Law that we have a Finance Committee Fr. Hennessy
Fr. Hennessy has plans to organise this in the near future when there will be
monthly meetings.

• D. Richardson said C. O’Brien had repaired a church pew.



N. Gorham informed us of the chance to visit Walsingham on the 6th and 7th
October to see the Relics of St. Therese of Lisieux. Fr. Hennessy to
advertise this in the September newsletter. Fr. Hennessy
• Cambodia – We await a decision on this in June.
