We are already immortals; we just need to remember. "Memory is the greatest of all magicks...", the Necronomicon says.

This is the secret to bringing death to life. Words on a page only go so far; we can ignite them briefly through application in the same way a dead body can be made to twitch when electricity is introduced to the muscles, but while you get an imitation, you do not get true life. Once you take the charge away, you're still left with a corpse. When something translates from recitation to memory, it becomes part of you & by association, it becomes alive through you. There is a part of each of us that continues beyond the functional life of this physical machine. It is said that energy does not end, but merely changes form; so by this statement, we are given scientific evidence for immortality as it has been proven that the physical machine is animated by bio-electrical energy. Does this energy simply disperse into the atmosphere once the machine has become so broken down that it can no longer cycle this energy through its various parts to perform its various functions & sub-routines? If so, then where does this energy go & what is its function? In its dispersal, does it recombine with the latent energies existent in the stratosphere & return to the earth with the rain, the wind, & the sunlight? If this is the case, then it is first received by the trees & other plants through photosynthesis & hydro-absorption. The animals & insects receive it when they feed on the plants, & finally when those machines quit working the cycle begins again....

Is this all there is for us; an endless cycle of expulsion & reintegration? Are we like the virus which has the sum total of its preceding generations' existence within us & do we pass this on along without having added our own experience to that which comes after us? The examples above are immortality through the lens of the Right Hand Path philosophy, or in Hermetic terms: "the microcosm coming into union or 'solution' with the macrocosm". This approach is not limited to the "fluffy" or "white light" spiritual paths; any path can be walked following this philosophy & is, in fact, what defines the experience of many theists whether they know it or not. From the other side of the coin, many of us believe there is something more to us than just electrically animated meat. There are also many of us who rather like ourselves as individuals & would rather not sacrifice our individual identity to be united with something that claims to be "greater" than ourselves. Call it arrogance, call it ego, but some of us even feel that we stand not beneath, but on the same playing field as the "gods". We have chosen not to drink the cup of the waters of the Lethe, but would rather hold all that we have gained intact whether it be pleasure or pain. What is worship in its truest definition? "Giving something worth". If you think you are beneath something, why in the hell would you think it would want a damn thing from you or care to listen to your petulant whining? It is said that when a deity ceases to be remembered, it ceases to exist; how then, do we have such power over the "life & death" of immortals if we are nothing but the dust beneath their feet? The xtian bible says that humans were "made in god's image", but

shouldn't it read that "god was made in man's image because man was too self-critical to even conceive of self-worship, but had to soothe his ego with false humility & transfer all the worth that should be focused on himself to a proxy". At some point or another, one being or group of beings made the choice to accept limitations. Perhaps it was a scheme concocted by still another group of beings to maintain control over those they perceived as their "lessers", but eventually, even the jailers began to believe the lie. Soon, the greater majority of humanity believed it was a shit heel & not worth a fart from some ethereal "god's" ass & to make matters worse, anyone who didn't agree with them was slaughtered! Not to exacerbate this point any more than necessary, but the whole shebang comes down to one thing: choice. That is also the difference between the commoner & the noble. Now, before we start debating history, I want to state from the get-go that wealth does not make one noble & poverty does not make one common. Nobility is something you are born with, & if you choose to cultivate it, there is nothing in this world or any other that can stop you, & it comes down to a simple matter of choice. The commoner believes they have no choice & complains of all the woes that their existence throws at them. No matter what they accomplish, they are in constant misery because they cannot see anything beyond that dirt on their nose. The noble has a longer view of things. They understand that they have the choice to allow life to grind them under or choose to accept whatever life throws at them & turn it to their advantage. Choice is what will help you survive intact when your machine finally ceases to operate; it is also what will prepare you for that moment. Choosing to remember; choosing to fight every bit of conditioning that has ever been put on you tooth & nail to bring your minds back into their proper functioning roles. Choosing to sacrifice your fears, your doubts, & your comforts for something eternal; this is nobility, this is the path to immortality! Suffering is a fact of existence because the "stars have gone wrong"; choosing suffering removes its power over you & puts it in your hands. No matter what your circumstances, choose, don't simply accept reflexively. No matter what your circumstances, you are immortal; always have been & always will be. Nothing can take that away from you but yourself. Choose to be nobility; choose to be an Immortal!
