SUBMITTALS A. Before starting installation of any materials or equipment, submit for approval a complete list of materials and equipment to be incorporated in the work. This list shall include catalog numbers, cuts, data sheets, and such other descriptive information as may be required. No consideration will be given to partial lists submitted from time to time. Approval of materials will be based on manufacturer's published data, installation and roughing-in data sheets and drawings indicating compliance with the Contract documents. Submittals shall be submitted within three (3) weeks after the contract start date.

PART 2 PRODUCTS
DESCRIPTION
2.01 LIGHTING FIXTURES A. Lighting fixtures, including lamps and ballasts shall be furnished complete with wiring and mounting devices ready for installation at the locations indicated.

LIGHTING POLES AND ACCESSORIES A. Lighting poles, anchor base, brackets and accessories shall be designed to withstand vertical and horizontal loading on the entire structure and supported equipment without damage or permanent deformation to any component of the lighting system. All exterior lighting fixtures for use in hazardous (classified)locations shall confirm to the requirements of chapter 5 of NEC and shall be as per the classification of hazard. 1. Steel poles shall be continuously tapered and seam welded. Heights shall be as indicated on the drawings. Brackets for lighting luminaires shall be detachable with welded steel plate pole and bracket adapter fittings. Adapter fittings shall be welded to pole and bracket and bolted together with hexagon-head corrosion-resistant bolts. Tenon end of the bracket shall accommodate the luminaire indicated. Anchor base shall be cast steel, seam-welded to the pole at the upper outer edge of the flange and the lower edge of the pole. Pole bases shall be equipped with oval-shaped handhole and reinforced sheet-steel frame and cover. Center of opening shall be 800 mm above the foundation. Poles shall be furnished with a inch square nut, 13 theads per inch, as specified, M18 x 2 welded to the inside of the pole for ground connections.

6. Accessories shall be provided, including cast-steel ornamental pole-top cap, top tenons, galvanized nuts, bolts, and washers, and galvanized sheet metal leveling shims. Exposed metal surfaces of steel lighting standards, including anchor bases, brackets, and other uncoated steel component parts, shall be hot-dipped galvanized coated after fabrication.

DESCRIPTION

LIGHTING LUMINAIRES A. Lighting luminaires shall be HID, Metal Halide and/or High pressure sodium enclosed and gasketed vapor-tight fixture accordance with IESNA RP-8 for Types I, II, III, IV, and V lighting-distributive patterns. End-Mounted High-Intensity-Discharge (HID) Luminaires: End-mounted HID luminaires with horizontal lamp-burning position shall include hinged two- or three-piece housing, reflector, refractor, refractor holding ring, lamp holder, ballast, and lamp in a completely sealed optical system for end-mounting to street-lighting standard. Wiring shall be concealed in street-lighting standards and luminaires. Upper housing shall be cast aluminum with fixture-leveling pad, integral slip fitter, pipe stop, and clamps with provision for vertical adjustments of plus or minus 3 degrees for leveling purposes. Porcelain lamp holder shall be mounted on an adjustable supporting bracket that will permit vertical and horizontal positioning of the lamp. Reflector shall be formed from anodized sheet aluminum and shall have specular finish. Refractor shall be molded prismatic heat-resistant borosilicate glass designed to provide the lighting-distribution pattern indicated. Refractor cover shall allow for expansion and contraction of the refractor with ambient temperature changes from minus 18 to 41 degrees C. Refractor holding ring and ballast cover shall be cast aluminum and shall form the lower housing. Lower housing shall be equipped with corrosion-resistant steel hinge and hinge pin, spring-loaded safety catch, and refractor latching mechanism. Upper housing shall overlap the lower housing with a heat-resistant gasket that will provide a seal against moisture, dirt, and insects.

HIGH-INTENSITY-DISCHARGE (HID) LUMINAIRES A. HID luminaires with base-down vertical-lamp burning positions shall include a housing with glass lens and cover, reflector, lampholder, ballast compartment and fixture mounting devices in a completely sealed optical system. Housing shall be cast aluminum with hinged cast-aluminum cover, heatresistant clear plain glass lens not less than 3/16-inch (5 millimeter) thick, gasket cover lamps. Housing shall provide a weatherproof seal against moisture and foreign material. Housing shall include an integral aluminum ballast compartment with built-in ballast and terminal block. Reflector shall be detachable, formed anodized sheet aluminum with diffuse or specular finish designed for a rectangular wide-beam spread. Fixture mounting devices shall include a galvanized-steel trunnion adaptable pole, wall, pipe, or crossarm mounting as indicated and required, with fixed positioning devices that will permit horizontal and vertical adjustment over 180-degree range. Fixture shall have lamp focusing adjustments, fixture aiming and leveling devices, accessible from the outside of the fixture. Lamps shall be replaceable from the top or front. Electrical connections shall be made with Type AFS cord.

2.05 LAMP BALLASTS A. Multiple-Circuit Ballasts 1. Multiple-circuit ballasts shall include a two-winding core-and coil assembly with a saturated-iron regulating element and capacitors impregnated with an insulating material. Ballasts shall maintain correct lamp operation over a voltageinput range of plus or minus 13 percent of rated voltage. Capacitors shall provide a power factor lamp load of not less than 95 percent. Ballasts shall be voltage rated for operation as indicated on lighting fixture schedule. Ballasts shall be designed for a minimum lamp starting temperature of minimum 29 degrees C and a maximum ambient temperature of 41 degrees

PART 3 - EXECUTION 3.01 INSTALLATION A. Coordination: Coordinate all work with other crafts and other utilities and construction items of project. Determine in advance of trenching the location and the depth of other utilities and structures in order to determine possible conflict, to prevent damage, and whether they can be passed with proper clearance. Trench Excavation and Backfilling: Shall be in accordance with related Civil Work. Sand bedding shall be as shown on the drawings and Saudi Aramco Standard Drawings. Place precast red concrete tiles in backfill. Underground Secondary: To be installed in PVC conduit of sizes indicated. Cap or plug conduit ends during construction. Before any wire is pulled in a conduit, pull thru the conduit a mandrel 1/4 inch smaller in diameter than the I.D. of the conduit; then swab thoroughly with a stiff brush. Use factory elbows where possible. Make necessary field bends as recommended by the pipe manufacturer. Where used under roads, parking lots or traffic areas, PVC conduits shall be encased in concrete. Do not install any conduit that has been flattened in bending. PVC conduit must transition to rigid steel, PVC coated conduit before emerging above grade. Accessible ends shall support a grounded bushing and shall be bonded to equipment grounding system. D. E. Above Ground wiring shall be installed in rigid galvanized steel conduit. Bond conduits throughout to form an electrically continuous system. Install conduit vertically or horizontally or parallel to supporting structure. Make field bends and offsets uniform and symmetrical without flattening. All field bends shall be of approved code radius. Use factory elbows wherever possible, of the approved allowable radius for conductor applicable.

G. Joint conduit with couplings and fittings. All conduit shall be watertight, apply Crouse-Hinds STL or equal to the male thread. No running threads will be allowed. Do not remove the galvanized coating with excessive threads. Install conduits, fittings and cast boxes in a manner to prevent moisture from entering the conduit system cap or plug conduit ends during construction. Clean conduits after installation with a mandrel and wire brush prior to pulling conductors.

GROUNDING All steel conduit, poles and metal equipment housings including light fixtures shall be effectively and permanently grounded in strict accordance with the National Electrical Code, and as shown on the drawings. Conduit shall not be used as the sole equipment ground path. POLE STANDARDS Install all pole standards in strict accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations. All pole standards shall be plumb with lighting fixtures. CONCRETE A. Provide concrete foundations for pole standards and modules to size and details shown on the drawings.
