Conclusions:
1. The exhaustion set for cation exchange resin was initial pH (i.e. pH after achieving
initial brix) and same for anion exchange resin was 4.5.
2. The inlet sugar was having brownish colour which was removed after treatment.
3. The total treated volume was 42 BV i.e. 12.6 L.
4. The inversion of the sucrose was taking place up to 42 BV with and average
increase of 1.86 brix.
5. Even after treatment of 42 BV, the anion exchange resin column was treating the
inverted sugar solution satisfactorily.
6. When 10.9769 Kg sucrose was charged to system. The net product obtained was
9.7756 Kg and 1.2013 Kg in sweetening outlet and backwashing of the resin
columns which can be recycled in system. The system yield is 89.06%.
7. The final OBR obtained in this run was 42 BV.
