• 3 ½ “ diskettes, writeable CDs, or a flash drive for turning in assignments (I have no
preference, but CDs or flash drives work better as they hold more material, the files
can be quite large and you might have to use 2 disks for 1 assignment).
COURSE DESCRIPTION
The course is designed to provide an overview of the accounting information system within an
enterprise environment with emphasis on the concepts, objectives and significance of well-
designed accounting information systems.
The course integrates computer-based systems concepts and techniques with accounting
information processes. The course considers the use of information system concepts and
practices in the use and design of accounting information systems. Topics include computer
based accounting systems, business processes, internal control requirements and accounting
requirements for the development of intelligent systems.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The course introduces students to accounting information systems and offers an overview of the
concepts, objectives and significance of well-designed accounting information systems. Upon
completion of the course the student will have a basic understanding of:
