ECOLOGY CAMP Venue : UPM Forest Reserve th Date : 24 May 20__ No of participants: 40 We departed from the school at 7.30am and arrived at the Ecology Camp at 8.30am. We were welcomed by the officer in-charge,Encik Ahmad. The officer-incharge did a quick roll call and briefed us on the days programme at about 9am. We had light refreshment at 10.00am before we proceeded to our first activity jungle trekking at 10.30am. At 11.00am, we stopped at a clearing in the forest to study the forest ecosystem. We read the labels on the trees, looked for insects and took photographs. After jungle trekking, we gathered under some shady clearing for a photography session at 11.30am. Then we had our packed lunches at 12.00 noon. At 1.30pm, the officer took us to search for parasitic plants. We collected specimens and jotted down their names. At 2.30pm, we returned to the main building where we participated in a drawing and painting activity. The theme was The Tropical Rainforest A Wonderful Heritage. We had a short rest at 3.30pm. At 4.00pm, the officer-in-charge gave a speech and presented certificates to all the participants. We left the camp at 4.45pm and reached school at 5.30pm. Comments/Remarks It was indeed a refreshing experience for us. We learned a lot about the ecosystem, creatures and plants for the forest. It was definitely an experience to be remembered. We hope the club will organize more of such trips. Reported by: . (SARAH ANG) Secretary Environment Club
