Agriculture yield in Egypt is vulnerable to temperature rise, sea level rise, saltwater intrusion and increasing frequency and severity of extreme events Proactive institutional adaptation policies and measures and monitoring systems are necessary to minimize risks of climate change on the Nile delta Human intervention is a very important factor affecting vulnerability and development Poverty, low awareness and socioeconomic stresses contribute significantly to the problem

It is necessary to establish an institutional capability for monitoring, building databases, assessment and supporting decision makers A change of distribution of crops, irrigation methods, land uses and identification of temperature and salt tolerant plants, are necessary It is necessary to consider accommodating possible environmental migrants and developing employment opportunities in safe areas.
