I. PURPOSE

This policy defines what is expected of LabCorp employees in terms of personal appearance
while performing duties for the Company.

II. POLICY

It is the policy of LabCorp to require employees to be neat and professional in their
appearance. Employees are expected to dress appropriately for their duties and work.
Although this policy is not intended to infringe unreasonably on employees preferences
regarding personal attire and style of clothing, LabCorp requires a neat, clean and
professional appearance, as well as clothing that provides adequate coverage and
protection for the specific work area for all employees. LabCorp relies on the good
judgement of its employees. Employees who fail to meet the standards of LabCorps
personal appearance policy as defined below, and administered by their supervisor, are
required to comply with the policy guidelines before continuing work. Time missed because
of failure to comply with this policy is not compensated. Repeated violations of this policy will
be cause for appropriate corrective action up to and including termination.

III. GUIDELINES

A. General: All employees should use good judgment in choosing attire, giving
consideration to their position and frequency of public contact. Attire should be non-
distracting and reflect awareness of safety standards. LabCorp considers these items
to be inappropriate business attire: shorts (except if authorized by Divisional Senior
Management) or sweat pants; bare back, midriff or cutoff T-shirts; tube or halter-like
tops or dresses; sleeveless undershirts worn as outer attire or tank tops; descriptive T-
shirts or sweatshirts; spandex or tight fitting clothing. Torn, dirty, ragged or faded
clothing of any kind is also unacceptable. This list is given by way of example, but is
not intended to be an exhaustive list of inappropriate business attire.

B. Laboratory areas: Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is required in the
laboratory work area. Failure to wear appropriate PPE in work areas may result in
corrective action, up to and including termination. Because of safety hazards such as
broken glass, bloodborne pathogens and chemical solutions, open-toed shoes or
sandals and clothes that do not provide adequate leg coverage (e.g., skirts, culottes,
shorts) are not permitted in the laboratory. PPE may not be worn in non-laboratory
areas such as break rooms, restrooms or offices and may not be worn outside of the
building.

C. Sales/Office/Professional Services and Patient Service Technicians: Employees
who have frequent contact with clients and/or conduct business with other organizations
are expected to dress in proper business attire that reflects good taste, professional
competence and reliability. Distracting facial and tongue jewelry or other ornamentation
is inappropriate when dealing with the public.

D. Supervisory Authority: Since no dress code can definitively set forth an all-inclusive
definition of appropriate and inappropriate dress or appearance, the supervisor will
have substantial discretion to determine whether an employees dress or appearance
complies with this policy. The supervisor will exercise his/her discretion fairly and
consistently and when there are questions or concerns about the application of this
policy, the supervisor will consult with Human Resources before notifying the
employee of his/her decision.

E. Uniforms: Certain employees are required to wear a uniform. Those employees
must report to work in their uniforms and their uniforms must be neat, clean and
presentable.

F. Reasonable Accommodations: LabCorp recognizes that some employees may
need an exception to this policy as part of a reasonable accommodation for religious
beliefs or a disability. Requests for accommodation should be made to your local HR
Manager.
