In the name of Allah, the Most-Merciful, the All-Compassionate

"May the Peace and Blessings of Allah be Upon You"

Praise be to Allaah, we seek His help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allaah from the evil of our own souls and from our
bad deeds. Whomsoever Allaah guides will never be led astray, and whomsoever Allaah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear
witness that there is no god but Allaah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His slave and Messenger.

All the previous sins will be forgiven.

· According to Sahih Al-Bukhari , Hadith no. 3.125, Narrated by Abu Huraira: The Prophet said,
"Whoever established prayers on the night of Qadr out of sincere faith and hoping for a reward from Allah,
then all his previous sins will be forgiven; and whoever fasts in the month of Ramadan out of sincere faith,
and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."

Guarantee for paradise:

· According to Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 4.48, Narrated by Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, "Whoever believes in Allah and His Apostle, offers prayer perfectly and fasts the month
of Ramadan, will rightfully be granted Paradise by Allah, no matter whether he fights in Allah's cause or
remains in the land where he is born."
The people said, "O Allahs Apostle! Shall we acquaint the people with this good news?"
He said, "Paradise has one-hundred grades which Allah has reserved for the mujahidin who fight in His
cause, and the distance between each of two grades is like the distance between the Heaven and the
earth. So, when you ask Allah (for something), ask for Al-Firdaus which is the best and highest part of
Paradise ." (i.e., The sub-narrator added, "I think the Prophet also said, Above it (i.e. Al-Firdaus) is the
Throne of Beneficent (i.e. Allah), and from it originate the rivers of Paradise .")

Umra in Ramadan is equal to Hajj in reward:

· According to Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 3.86, Narrated by Ibn Abbas: When the Prophet
returned after performing his Hajj, he asked Um Sinan Al-Ansari, "What did forbid you to perform Hajj?"
She replied, "Father of so-and-so (i.e. her husband) had two camels and he performed Hajj on one of
them, and the second is used for the irrigation of our land." The Prophet said (to her), "Perform Umra in
the month of Ramadan, (as it is equivalent to Hajj or Hajj with me (in reward)." Also refer to Sahih Al-
Bukhari HadithHadith 3.10

The gates of Paradise are opened

· According to Sahih Al-Bukhari , Hadith No. 4.497, Narrated by Abu Huraira:
Allahs Apostle said, "When the month of Ramadan comes, the gates of Paradise are opened and the
gates of the (Hell) Fire are closed, and the devils are chained."

The Prophet used to become more generous in Ramadan:

· According to Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith no. 4.754, Narrated by Ibn Abbas: The Prophet was the most
generous of all the people, and he used to become more generous in Ramadan when Gabriel met him.
Gabriel used to meet him every night during Ramadan to revise the Quran with him. Allahs Apostle then
used to be more generous than the fast wind.

11 rakat ----in the month of ramadan

· According to Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith no. 4.769
Narrated by Abu Salama bin Abdur Rahman: That he asked Aaisha "How was the prayer of Allahs
Apostle in the month of Ramadan?" She replied, "He used not to pray more than eleven Rakat whether in
Ramadan or in any other month. He used to offer four Rakat, let alone their beauty and length, and then
four Rakat, let alone their beauty and length. Afterwards he would offer three Rakat.
I said, O Allahs Apostle! Do you go to bed before offering the Witr prayer?
He said, 'My eyes sleep, but my heart does not sleep.' "

The reward of daily night prayer ( such as traveeh, Qiyam al lail)

· According to Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 3.227, Narrated by Abu Huraira:
Allahs Apostle said, "Whoever prayed at night the whole month of Ramadan out of sincere Faith and
hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."

Ibn Shihab (a sub-narrator) said, "Allahs Apostle died and the people continued observing that (i.e.
Nawafil offered individually, not in congregation) , and it remained as it was during the Caliphate of Abu
Bakr and in the early days of Umar's Caliphate."
Abdur Rahman bin Abdul Qari said, "I went out in the company of Umar bin Al-Khattab one night in
Ramadan to the mosque and found the people praying in different groups. A man praying alone or a man
praying with a little group behind him. So, Umar said, 'In my opinion I would better collect these (people)
under the leadership of one qari (reciter) (i.e. let them pray in congregation! ).
So, he made up his mind to congregate them behind Ubai bin Kab. Then on another night I went again in
his company and the people were praying behind their reciter. On that, Umar remarked, What an
excellent Bida (i.e. innovation in religion) (but its a confirmed Sunnah) this is; but the prayer which they do
not perform, but sleep at its time is better than the one they are offering.
He meant the prayer in the last part of the night. (In those days) people used to pray in the early part of
the night."

According to Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith no,. 3.226 Narrated by Abu Huraira: I heard Allahs Apostle
saying regarding Ramadan, "Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere faith
and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven."

Seek the Night of Qadar in the last ten days:

· According to Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 3.237, Narrated by Aisha: Allahs Apostle used to practice
Itikaf in the last ten nights of Ramadan and used to say, "Look for the Night of Qadr in the last ten nights
of the month of Ramadan."

Night of Qadr in the odd nights of the last ten days of Ramadan."

Guardians must fast on his behalf

· According to Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 3.173,
Narrated by Aisha: Allah's Apostle said, "Whoever died and he ought to have fasted (the missed days of
Ramadan) then his guardians must fast on his behalf."

Pray all the night and keep family awake for prayer------ -in the last ten days
· According to Sahih Al-Bukhari, Hadith No. 3.241,
Narrated by Aisha: With the start of the last ten days of Ramadan, the Prophet used to tighten his waist
belt (i.e. work hard) and used to pray all the night, and used to keep his family awake for the prayers.

Fasting and the Quran will intercede!

· According to Al-Tirmidhi, Hadith no. 1963,
Narrated by Abdullah ibn Amr: Allahs Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "Fasting and the Quran
intercede for a man.

Fasting says, O my Lord, I have kept him away from his food and his passions by day, so accept my
intercession for him.
The Quran says, I have kept him away from sleep by night, so accept my intercession for him.
Then their intercession is accepted."-- ----Bayhaqi transmitted it in Shuab al-Iman.
Take care for the three important!
Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 927,
Narrated by AbuHurayrah; Allahs Messenger (peace be upon him) said:
Let there be smeared with dust the nose of the person in whose presence I am mentioned, and he does
not invoke blessing upon me.

And let the nose of that person be smeared with dust who has the opportunity to see the month of
Ramadan and it comes to an end without his securing pardon for himself.

And let the nose of the person be smeared with dust who finds alive his aged parents, both of them or
one of them, and through them (by serving them) he does not enter Paradise.---
Transmitted by Tirmidhi. Also refer to Sahih Muslim Hadith No. 6189

The lailatul Qadar------- ----search in the odd nights!

· Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith no. 3.244,
Narrated by Abu Said Al Khudri: Allahs Apostle used to practice Itikaf in the middle ten days of Ramadan
and once he stayed in Itikaf till the night of the twenty-first and it was the night in the morning of which he
used to come out of his Itikaf.
The Prophet said, "Whoever was in Itikaf with me should stay in Itikaf for the last ten days, for I was
informed (of the date) of the Night (of Qadr) but I have been caused to forget it. (In the dream) I saw
myself prostrating in mud and water in the morning of that night. So, look for it in the last ten nights and in
the odd ones of them."
It rained that night and the roof of the mosque dribbled as it was made of leaf stalks of date-palms. I saw
with my own eyes the mark of mud and water on the forehead of the Prophet (i.e. in the morning of the
twenty-first) .----
(Also refer to Bukhari 3.256 , 3.244 ,3.235, 1.777; 3.252, 3.233)

Sahih Muslim Hadith no. 2631, Narrated by Abdullah ibn Unays: Allahs Messenger (peace be upon him)
said: I was shown laylat al-Qadr; then I was made to forget it, and saw that I was prostrating in water and
clay in the morning of that (night), He (the narrator) said: There was a downpour on the twenty-third night
and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) led us in prayer, and as he went back, there was a trace
of water and clay on his forehead and on his nose. He (the narrator) said: Abdullah ibn Unays used to say
that it was the twenty-third (night).

Sahih Muslim Hadith no. 2633,

Narrated by Ubayy ibn Kab: Zirr ibn Hubaysh reported: I thus asked Ubayy ibn Kab: Your brother (in faith)
Ibn Masud says: He who stands (for the night prayer) throughout the year will find laylat al-Qadr.
Thereupon he said: May Allah have mercy upon him. (He said these words) with the intention that people
might not rely only (on one night), whereas he knew that it (laylat al-Qadr) was in the month of Ramadan
and it was the twenty-seventh night. He then took an oath (without making any exception, i.e. without
saying inshaAllah) that it was the twenty-seventh night. I said to him: AbulMundhir, on what grounds do
you say that? Thereupon he said: By the indication or by the sign which the Messenger of Allah (peace be
upon him) gave us, and that is that on that day (the sun) would rise without having any ray in it.

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith , 2.255, Narrated by Nafi: Ibn 'Umar said, "In the lifetime of the Prophet I dreamt
that a piece of silk cloth was in my hand and it flew with me to whichever part of Paradise I wanted. I also
saw as if two persons (i.e. angels) came to me and wanted to take me to Hell. Then an angel met us and
told me not to be afraid. He then told them to leave me. Hafsa narrated one of my dreams to the Prophet
and the Prophet said, Abdullah is a good man. Would that he offer the night prayer (Tahajjud)!' So after
that day Abdullah (bin Umar) started offering Tahajjud. The companions of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) used to
tell him their dreams that (Lailat-ul-Qadr) was on the 27th of the month of Ramadan. The Prophet said, "I
see that your dreams agree on the last ten nights of Ramadan and so whoever is in search of it should
seek it in the last ten nights of Ramadan."

Sahih Al-Bukhari Hadith no. 1.46, Narrated by Abdullah:

The Prophet said, "Abusing a Muslim is Fusuq (an evil doing) and killing him is Kufr (disbelief). "
Narrated Ubada bin As-Samit: "Allahs Apostle went out to inform the people about the (date of the) night
of decree (Al-Qadr) but there happened a quarrel between two Muslim men.
The Prophet said, "I came out to inform you about (the date of) the night of Al-Qadr, but as so and so and
so and so quarreled, its knowledge was taken away (I forgot it) and maybe it was better for you. Now look
for it in the 7th, the 9th and the 5th (of the last 10 nights of the month of Ramadan)."
