answer the Judicial Candidate questionnaire, and NOT the County or State Level questionnaire!) CANDIDATE QUESTIONNAIRE FOR JUDGE KATY HUBENER DEMOCRATIC, JUSTICE OF THE PEACE 4-2 1. Why are you seeking the endorsement from Stonewall Democrats of Dallas? I am and have been a progressive Democrat all my life. I strongly believe in civil rights for every citizen including the right to freely marry. 2. What are your plans to participate in a coordinated campaign in the general election? I am certain that if I am reelected I will fully participate in the coordinated campaign and help turn out votes for the Democratic ticket. I am certain this will include both the giving of time and money. 3. Will you use the Stonewall Democrats of Dallas endorsement in or on: a) your website -yes b) your campaign literature and mailers most likely, if my stuff isn 't already printed at the time of the endorsement c) your social media assets (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) -yes d) your campaign advertisements most likely, if my stuff isn't already printed

4. When elected, how will you recruit, retain, and create a friendly environment for LGBT and LGBTfriendly staff? / have hired and recruited LGBT candidates at my office. I believe I foster an environment that is LGBT friendly. 5. Would you be willing to appoint a liaison to meet with the LGBT community on a ongoing basis? If not, why? I believe 1'would /are that person. 6. Understanding that administrative matters can take up a significant percentage of your work day, what are some ideas for policies or procedures that you think you can improve court operations for the court which you are seeking office? What are the most important policies or procedures you've identified as needing improvement? When I took office the court was in complete disarray. In some cases documents hadn 't been filed in more than three years, the courthouse was literally full of boxes to the point that the court couldn 't properly operate. I have cleaned up that mess. I have expedited trials. I have improved both the function and administration of the court. I honestly believe that my three opponents have a track record of negligence and inattentiveness to the details that will make a difference to a courthouse.
