Why are you seeking the endorsement from Stonewall Democrats of Dallas? The Organization structure is strong. Stonewall Democrats stand for change. 2. What are your plans to support or participate in a coordinated campaign in the general election in Dallas? I plan on addressing the tough issues, such as Education, Allocation of funds, Healthcare, Unemployment. On a personal level, I will be visible, accountable, available and transparent. 3. Will you use the Stonewall Democrats of Dallas endorsement in or on: All of the listed advertisements will be used. I haven't built a web site yet, but as soon as it's up and running Stonewall will be Listed as an endorser. b) your campaign literature and mailers c) your social media assets (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) d) your campaign advertisements 4. When elected, how will you recruit, retain, and create a friendly environment for LGBT and LGBT-friendly staff? Although I won't recruit, I will welcome LGBT and all others. 5. Would you be willing to appoint a liaison to meet with the LGBT community on a ongoing basis? If not, why? Yes, I would love to have someone to represent LBGT. 6. How would you support or lead efforts to pass a resolution to support marriage equality? I will hold forums so that LBGT can inform others about Marriage equality. This question goes back to my opening answer...The tough issues. 7. Will you be willing to lead or support efforts to develop a LGBT Taskforce, similar to the structure and mission the Dallas City Council developed? Until I'm well informed about The mission and cause, I would diffidently support, but not yet lead. 8. How would you lead or support state legislation and/or constitutional amendments pertaining to: a) LGBT Couples adopting? I would lead this cause by petitions, speaking out to agencies that handle adoptions. b) LGBT Couples providing foster care? The say goes for foster care. It doesn't matter that you are LBGT. What matters and what should be the focus is, The care and love you will bring to a child life. c) Supporting safe schools for LGBT students? Educated, Inform, Awareness d) Supporting the repeal of the Texas Marriage/Civil Union Amendment. I will read more on this topic and have an answer at time of interview. However, The constitution states freedom, not freedom for something and government gets to choose the topics for your life. 9. How would you address the recent trend of state government adding medically unnecessary procedures to the. This is a healthcare topic that is a sore spot for me. First we have to show that there is a non discrimination act in place, then we have to enforce those that are non compliant. If this means a task force to work with EEOC or revising the non-discrimination Act. 14.What specific ideas do you have and/or what current legislation would you support to improve our state economy and address the wealth disparity in Texas? The minimum wage and cracking down on the cheap labor from foreigners.
