edu Office hour: Tuesdays noon- 1pm (starting September17th) in Ford 342 Course Overview This course is a writing intensive course focused on: (1) The different types of problems a statistician might be encounter (2) Working with other statisticians to solve problems (3) Presenting the solutions. In addition, we will have guest speakers from both academia and industry. We will meet MWF from 12:20-1:10 in CivE 212. Attendance is required. Grading The class will be graded A-F, with grades dependent upon class attendance, assignment originality and completion, reviews of presentations (both yours and of others) and improvement throughout the semester.

Incomplete Incompletes will only be given to those who have a demonstrated case of extreme hardship. In particular, an I will be given if the student presents evidence from a certified professional that the student is unable to complete the course. In addition, the student must have a passing grade at the time of the incomplete request in order to receive the I. Academic Integrity The goal of this course is to create graduates who can not only perform statistical analyses, but also explain said analyses. Therefore, I expect any work submitted by a student to be the work of that student. If I have any reason to suspect that a student has not performed the analysis or written the words that he or she is submitting, I will file a claim with the Office of Student Conduct and Academic Integrity.
