Interested Parties Michael Ramlet and Kyle Dropp January 6, 2014 Poll Results on Obamacares Standing with Likely Voters in 2014 and Market Research on Consumer Experiences on the Health Insurance Exchanges

With the start of 2014, attention will begin shifting to the midterm congressional elections in November. Obamacare remains a challenging midterm issue for Democrats, with a majority of likely voters disapproving of Obamacare, including 65 percent of likely voters who currently say they are undecided when it comes to who to vote for in 2014. These undecided likely voters currently give the Republican Party an 8-point advantage on who they trust to handle healthcare. Despite the implementation challenges, interest in purchasing health plans on the insurance exchanges remains strong with 4 in 10 saying they are still considering purchasing a plan. This poll was conducted from December 15-18, 2013, among a national sample of 1,964 likely voters who were either highly interested in the upcoming election or cast a ballot during the 2010 midterm elections. The interviews were conducted online by Survey Sampling International, Inc. The data were weighted to approximate a target sample of likely voters based on age, race/ethnicity, gender, educational attainment, region, annual household income, home ownership status and marital status. Results from the full survey have a margin of error of plus or minus two percentage points. Analysis Memo: http://bit.ly/1bJarug Topline Results and Crosstab Tables: http://bit.ly/19Woznn
