As you can s ee fr om the table the analys es done on Mar ch, 11 2002 the s omatic cells of the milk have incr eas ed. T his was due to the fact that cut maiz e had finis hed in one container and it was poor quality fodder . We incr eas ed the quantity of T D AI R Y and gave to the animals 50 gr /animal. As you can s ee fr om the s econd analys is of the month the par ameter s have then r etur ned back to the us ual amount. T he s light incr eas e of s omatic cells on Apr il, 4 was due to the opening of a new container of cut maize, and again the fodder was not of good quality. Fr om that date on the dos age was r educed again to 25 gr /animal.

Mater ials and methods : I n the tr ials 144 hybr id r abbits wer e utilized, they wer e divided into 3 gr oups of 48 s ubj ects each unifor m in s ex , age, weight and nes t. A gr oup, the contr ol, was given a feed mix tur e, wher eas the other two gr oups , A1 and A2, r eceived the s ame mix tur e as the contr ol but with the addition of 250 and 300 g R AB S T OP / 100 K g. feed r es pectively. T he tr ial, which las ted 68 days , s tar ted at the weaning of animals (about 80 days of age) and ended at the s laughter . T he r abbits wer e weighed individually at inter vals of two weeks , then they wer e weighed for the las t time on the day of the s laughter . At the s ame inter vals feed intakes and r es pective feed conver s ion indices wer e r ecor ded. At the s laughter (at a weight of appr ox imately 2.5 Kg. after fas ting for 8 hour s ) live weight and weight of the chilled car cas s wer e meas ur ed. Refr iger ation took place in a r efr iger ation cell at a temper atur e of 4 C for 2 hour s . R es u l t s : T he feed intakes did not differ s tatis tically in the thr ee gr oups ; however the feed intakes tended to r educe with the addition of R AB S T OP ; the s malles t inges tion s eemed to be influenced by the level of addition (106,9 VS 108,9 VS 111,5 g/d r es pectively in A2, A1, and C). T his tendency is mor e clear in table 4 wher e the feed intakes of r abbits fed with added feed mix tur e tended to r educe fr om the fir s t days of the pos t- wear ing. T he feed conver s ion indice decr eas ed on account of the weight gains which ar e s imilar in the 2 gr oups . I n table 4 the tendency of the feed conver s ion in the differ ent phas es is als o s howed.

Con cl u s i on s : T he r es ults obtained s howed that the us e of R AB S T OP pos itively affected the per for mances of fattening r abbits and the feed intakes and conver s ions . Par ticular y, the r abbits fed with R AB S T OP (in the dos age 100 gr /100 kg feed mis tur e) s howed a tendency to r educe feed intakes and to limit the feed conver s ion indice. T he mor tality r ate was als o r educed in the gr oups r eceiving the addition . All thes e r es ults s howed that the pr oduct on tr ial pos itively affected the per for mances of fattening r abbits .
