1.0

SCOPE

The scope of this procedure is to describe the system and practice established for the Bridge Crane & Electric Hoist - Monorail inspection and installation procedure. Inspectors maintaining their qualification to meet the project specification, code and standard (API 650) for the construction of EPC 3,YERP Gasoline Project at Yanbu, K.S.A.

2.0

PURPOSE The purpose is intended to assist the Plant and Equipment (P&E) Inspector of Plant Inspection Units in their selection by providing Typical Plans and inspection checklist for Bridge Crane & Electric Hoist-Monorail on stream evaluation and tracking of existing equipment condition.

3.0

SAFETY

3.1

Use of approved and inspected lifting equipment, tools and qualified workers such as rigger, flag man ,crane operator ,erection supervisor and superintendent. Ensure personal safety of any person involved during inspection of equipment are provides permit, lights, scaffolding and job Safety Analysis shall be prepared before start of activities. Use of personnel protection equipment and safety requirements for inspection is the responsibility of the inspector / inspection Engineer.

6.0

RESPONSIBILITIES

6.1

MECHANICAL SUPERINTENDENT Shall have the responsibility and authority for direction and control of the Bridge Crane and Hoist installation work including all necessary provisions to perform the activities.

6.2

QUALITY CONTROL MANAGER Shall responsible for ensuring adequate implementation and application of this inspection procedure in accordance with applicable codes, standard, specification and verify the application of the requirements .

6.3

QC INSPECTOR Shall perform the inspection activities of equipment (ITP) verification of RFI that used for inspection such as visual inspection, preservation, elevation, orientation, location, alignment, punch clear, vessel enclosure and final inspection as per specification approved by company.

7.0

INSPECTION AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURE 7.1 REVIEW BRIDGE CRANE / HOIST DOCUMENTS QC shall review the document as per standard outline the procedure to be followed in preparation of Safety Inspection Sheet (SIS),material system specification, standard drawing and procedure of Bridge Crane & Hoist installation , Handling , storage and preservation documents.

7.2

MATERIAL RECEIVING / INSPECTION OF BRIDGE CRANE / HOIST QC shall verify Test Certificates in accordance with SA Form 175-313100, showing conformance of all materials and assembly specified code and standards. Clearly marked Rated Capacity, nameplate , dimension check Painting, hoist shall be cleaning and greasing, gear box greasing and then cover with tarpaulin .Ensure that crane are free from dirt , sufficient support from the ground to avoid contact .

7.3

INSTALLATION OF BRIDGE CRANE / HOIST

a. Shall verify structural released for bridge crane railing as per SATIP-M-001-01. Check relevant drawing vendor and structural drawing prior to equipment installation . b. Installation of railing bolt ,nuts and clips with torque tightening . Inspection of spans , levelling and elevation were tolerances shall be in accordance with vendor or manufacturer requirements. c. Before installation works , bridge crane dimension compared to railing distance dimension shall be verified to avoid delay in erection activities. d. Crane platform, ladder and handrail are installed with gratings and clips are clearly completed conformance to relevant vendor drawing. stopper installed . working SWL are marked in beam. Hook, block and ropes are visually approved inspection. e. Preservation shall be implement, movable parts shall be cleaned and apply oil/ grease, winch wire rope greasing, gear box oil filling, bearing greasing touchup painting . d. Electrical check for travelling crane emergency stop switch shall be installed and function satisfactory, light flushing , alarm system and other safety devices checks. Electrical released report shall be required prior to load test. e. Inspection of maximum and minimum operating speed, overload limit alarm functioning , alarm while crane travelling checked ,pendant required distance above the ground . All are ready prior to load test .

8.0

PRECOMMISSIONING BRIDGE CRANE / HOIST FINAL INSPECTION a. Load test at 125% rated load capacity and measured the deflection as a requirement are completed and approved inspection. b. Instrument , electrical ,insulation pre-commissioning .Refer to the respective SATIPs for electrical & instrument. c. Final inspection shall be carry-out with punch listing for reinstatement by contractor .
