[p.1] At the place intended for holding Court for the County of Chesterfield the 2nd day of June 1749

A new Commission of the Peace for this County directed to William KENNON John BOLLING William GAY
Richard ROYAL William KENNON Junr. John ARCHER Richard EPPES Seth WARD John ROYAL William
EPPES Robert GOOD Henry RANDOLPH Edward OSBORNE junr and Robert KENNON Gentlemen and a
Dedimus potestates for administring the Oaths &c both bearing date the 12th day of May last were openly read
Whereupon the said Richard EPPES and Seth WARD Administered the Oaths appointed to be taken by Act of
Parliament instead of the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy and the Abjuration Oath unto the said John
BOLLING and William GAY which they took and then subscribed the said Abjuration Oath and also the Test ant
then the said Richard EPPES and Seth WARD administered unto the said John BOLLING and William GRAY
<sic> the Oath of Justice of the Peace and the oath of a Justice in the County Court in Chancery which they
likewise took and then the said John BOLLING and William GAY Administred the said Oaths to the said Richard
ROYAL William KENNON junr. John ARCHER Richard EPPES Seth WARD Edward OSBORNE junr. and
Robert KENNON who in like Manner took the same and subscribed the said Abjuration Oath and Test And then
the said John BOLLING and William GAY adminstred to them the said Oath of a Justice of the Peace and Oath of
a Justice of the County Court in Chancery which they likewise took.

At the place for holding Courts for the County of Chesterfield June 2 1749 present John BOLLING, William GAY,
Richard ROYAL, William KENNON, junr, Richard EPPES, Seth WARD, Edward OSBORNE, Robert KENNON

Littlebury ROYAL the present Inspector with John NIBB are recommended to his honour the Governor as proper
persons to execute the Office of Inspectors of Tobacco at the Hundred Warehouses in this County.

William BLAKELEY Joseph ROWLET Wm. MOOR junr. Blackman WARD Morris ROBERTS and Thomas
AKINS are appointed Constables in this County and thereupon the said William BLAKELEY Joseph ROWLET
William MOOR Blackman WARD & Morris ROBERTS took the Constables Oath and all the Oaths required to be
taken by Constables by the Laws of this Colony. [...]

Ordered that Henry BATTS Matthew LIGON Joseph GOODE & Thomas STRATTON or any 3 of them being
first sworn before a Justice of this County do appraise in Current Money the Slaves and personal Estate of Joseph
MOSELEY decd. and return the Appraisment to Court.

Ordered that Seth WARD Gent. be appointed to treat with Mr. George [COCKBELL] concerning the letting of a
House for the use of this County as a prison and report to next Court and in the Interim if the Sherif take into his
Custody any person by Virtue of any process to him directed That in such Cases he be directed to press a sufficient
Guard for the safe keeping such person.

Ordered That the Court be adjourned til the Court in Course.

The last Will and Testament of Littlebury ROYALL decd. was proved by the Oaths of Richard EPPES and Matthew
LIGON Witnesses thereto sworn to by Mary ROYAL widow and Relict of said Littlebury and Richard ROYAL 2 of
the Executors Certificate is granted for obtained a probat thereof in due form giving security whereupon they
together with John ARCHER their Security entred into and acknowledged their Bond in the penalty of ,1,000
Sterling for their faithful performance of the Will of the said Testator.

On the Motion of William WORSHAM who made Oath according to Law Certificate is granted him for obtained
Letters of Administration of the Estate of William WORSHAM decd. in due form Whereupon he together with
Richard ROYALL entered into and acknowledged their Bond in the penalty of ,100 sterling for the due
Administration of the said Estate.

an Indenture of Feoffment from John BOOKER and Phebe his wife and Eliza. WORSHAM of the one part and
Stith HARDAWAY of the other part was proved

by the Oaths of the Witnesses thereto a Commission is awarded him to take the privy Examination and
Acknowledgement of the said Phebe.

[p.15] An Account of George WORSHAM with the Estate of Joshua IRBY decd. settled by Referees appointed by
the Court of Henrico County was returned to Court and ordered to be recorded with the Report of the said Referees
thereon endorsed.
