MICROPROCESSOR BASED AUTOMATIC WIRE / PLASTIC PIPE CUTTING MACHINE

INTRODUCTION: Engineering is a science by which the properties are made useful to man. INSTRUMENTATI N is the branch in that purpose to measure and control !arious physical "uantities in industry. This control is using by electronic circuit. Now computer # micro processor comes today$ we can control the !arious applications de!ice by microprocessor. Electronic engineering today$ has made it possible to manufacture highly comple% integrated circuits$ that assembly$ that assembly of more than hundreds of transistors and a single chip of silicon. ne of the results of the ad!ancement solid state technology is micro processor.

CHAPTER 1 INTRODUCTION TO MICROPROCESSOR

MICROPROCESSOR:-

Microprocessor is an electronic de!ice which can perform all the function of &entral 'rocessing Unit of computer. Such a de!ice can fetch information from memory decoder and e%ecute it and can perform arithmetic and logical operation. A microprocessor re"uires in addition to the micro processor itself a regulated power supply$ cloc( signal$ logic gates$ latches$ buffer$ e%ternal memory and input output ports. A stepper motor is an electromechanical de!ice which actuates a train of step angular mo!ements in response to a train of input pulses on one basis. Instead of rotating around and around as most motor do$ stepper motor rotates on step from one fi%ed position to the ne%t when pulsed. &ommon step signs range from ).* to +). Stepper motor might be though of as a digital motor. A stepper motor re"uires an electronic controller it to step. A typical stepper motor controller consists of logic se"uences power dri!er and current and !oltage limited. The microprocessor finds its application for stepper motor control as a logic se"uenced. The function of logic se"uence is to e%cite the motor windings in a particular se"uence to cause the motor to mo!e from its e%citing stop to the ne%t step.

The translator is an electronic unit that causes the stepper motor to run at desired stepping rate in the specified direction. A preset inde% causes the motor to the specified number of steps in the desired direction. The microprocessor can perform all these tas( assigned to it so as to obtain automatic control of stepper motor. The present wor( aims at the de!elopment of prototypes for microprocessor based lathe machine. The prototype de!eloped simulates a continuous lathe operation. Microprocessor controls the two stepper motor in proper way such that tool of the lathe will mo!e in ,-. direction a per the data gi!en in program. To rotate the /ob in forward direction we are using A. &. Syn motor. The mechanical arrangement is done to hold the /ob and tool mo!ement in proper way.
