Publications Coordinator Job Description (September 2010)

Overview of Position: The Publications Coordinator is a new full-time position responsible for coordinating the high quality production of a wide range of materials to support the achievement of AWID s outcomes and effectively communicating AWID s mission to diverse constituencies! The Publications Coordinator reports to the Communications "anager and wor#s closely with all of the AWID $trategic Initiative %$I& teams!

Production Develop and monitor policies and procedures for production- design- translation- pac#aging and dissemination of all AWID communication products including developing and maintaining production policies and guides- style and branding guides and translation glossaries %$panish and 3rench& In collaboration with the $I teams- coordinate the production- design- translation- pac#aging and dissemination of a wide range of communication products Develop and oversee the production schedule for all AWID publications and proactively resolve issues to ensure timely production Develop and maintain lists of e)ternal translators- editors- proofreaders and designers to support the production of AWID communication products Develop control and approval processes and ensure quality standards across AWID s online and print communications and consistently loo# for ways to improve AWID s communication products Develop translation policies and protocols- monitor quality of translations and coordinate regular feedbac# to translators Write and edit all organi,ational print and online publications including the AWID annual report /dit a wide range of $I print and online publications Create and maintain an image ban# Provide writing and research assistance to the /)ecutive Director on position papers and public statements 0ar+etin1 and Dissemination 8esearch- develop and maintain alternative media contact lists to support the dissemination of AWID communication products "aintain general organi,ational mailing and emailing lists for dissemination of AWID communication products "ar#et AWID publications to relevant actors Communications Support to S$ &eams Coordinate with $I teams to determine appropriate levels of editing- design- translation and dissemination support for large $I communication products! Identify $I communications training needs for tas#s such as proofreading and basic design and layout and coordinate appropriate communications training with the Communications "anager In collaboration with "embership staff- produce membership communication products including compiling and drafting content- formatting- design- layout and dissemination of the quarterly membership newsletter!
