as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head.

Of course God used Nebuchadnezzar to pronounce judgment upon Jerusalem, but Esau/Edom should have remembered that Jacob/Israel was his brother. That was reason enough not to rejoice in the destructive judgment that came upon Judah. We also notice the use of the word proud in this passage: Neither shouldest thou have spoken proudly in the day of distress. When we read these few verses we can easily sense Esaus hatred for Jacob. He not only became an enemy and rejoiced proudly against Judah, but he also participated in stealing the blessings from Jacob: Laid hands on their substance. But there is more. Those who escaped the slaughter and tried to flee to safety to the mountains of Edom were not protected but were handed over to the enemy: neither shouldest thou have delivered them up. This vision clearly exposes the brutality that can result from pride. We need to stop here and analyze this sin in the Church today. Meekness and humility are two characteristics that are looked down upon while brutality and oppression of the poor is defined as prosperity and also a blessing from God. To be something or somebody is not only accepted but encouraged as a doctrine in the Church today. When the Apostle Paul wrote to his spiritual son, Timothy, he specifically em-

In the day that thou stoodest on the other side, in the day that the strangers carried away captive his forces, and foreigners entered into his gates, and cast lots upon Jerusalem, even thou wast as one of them. phasized that circumstances will worsen in the end stages of the endtimes: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come (2 Timothy 3:1). Then the apostle lists 18 characteristics of religious people within Churchianity who call themselves Christians: For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God (verses 2-4). These are not atheists or communists, Muslims or Hindus; this passage identifies certain people within the Church. Can the same be said about you? Are you filled with pride? Do you boast? Do you love earthly pleasures more than you love God? Only you can answer these questions honestly. Note that verse 5 confirms that these are religious people: Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. What power do they deny? They deny the power of God to turn a sinner into a saint; the power to turn a saint into a sacrifice; the power to take away your rights, your self-assertion and replace it with total servitude to the Lord. That is the power of the Gospel being denied today. The Heathens The declaration of judgment in Obadiahs vision does not exclude the nations. Here is the proclamation: For the day of the LORD is near upon all the heathen: as thou hast done, it shall be done unto thee: thy reward shall return upon thine own head. For as ye have drunk upon my holy mountain, so shall all the heathen drink continually, yea, they shall drink, and they shall swallow down, and they shall be as though they had not been (verses 15-16). Again, we must point out that God gave Obadiah this vision about Edom, Israel and the nations. Although we may say that the Day of the Lord is part of the Tribulation Period, I believe that the Day of the Lord began thousands of years ago. This vision is not bound by earthly measures of time and understanding. For example, we read the following in John 4:35: Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest. With this statement, the Lord confounds our understanding of time and eternity. A farmer knows he cant go out into the field four months before the harvest and expect to come home with anything. But Jesus said, they are white already to harvest. I believe it is wrong to compartmentalize prophetic Scripture and not realize that the verse, the day of the Lord is near upon all the heathens applies to us today. Of course, this day will continue until the prince of darkness meets the prince of light, the God of creation. We have lived in the dispensation of grace for the last 2,000 years. In other words, God has not allowed Satan, the legitimate owner of planet Earth, to exercise his destructive intention unhindered. It is the grace of God that allows the various nations to live in relative harmony with one another. It is the grace of God that allows a certain degree of peace to prevail on planet Earth. Again, I must stress that peace and security are not the result of weapons, but it is His grace and His grace alone. If God withdrew the boundaries He has set for Satan, then no na-

tion could function as a civilized society and we would literally experience hell on earth. In these two verses, God shows that He will use the heathens to bring deserved judgment upon Edom, but the heathens (nations) will not escape judgment. Israels Restoration In contrast to all that has, is and will transpire in the future, God says, But upon mount Zion shall be deliverance, and there shall be holiness; and the house of Jacob shall possess their possessions (verse 17). This is both significant and encouraging for the believer. We do not need to worry about what the great man of the world are planning, who is elected in the process of democracy, which dictator will take over a nation, or what country or city becomes most significant in the eyes of the world. These things are not even worth mentioning because Isaiah 40:17 states: All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity. Therefore, dont let these less than nothing people cause you to worry or to fear, because salvation comes from Zion and from nowhere else. The nations will continue to create a truly peaceful society on earth but they will all fail ultimately. In Psalm 2, we read that the heathens oppose the Lord and His anointed and verse 6 answers: Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. Where Israel is concerned, God caused the prophet Obadiah to write down specifics regarding the borders of the Promised Land: And the house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau for stubble, and they shall kindle in them, and devour them; and there shall not be any remaining of the house of Esau; for the LORD hath spoken it. And they of the south shall possess the mount of Esau; and they of the plain the Philistines: and they shall possess the fields of Ephraim, and the fields of Samaria: and Benjamin shall possess Gilead (verses 18-19). Here we see the vision meet physical territory: the Promised Land. Verse 20 refers to the time we are witnessing, the time of the return of the children of Israel to the land of Israel and the city Jerusalem: And the captivity of this host of the children of Israel shall possess that of the Canaanites, even unto Zarephath; and the captivity of Jerusalem, which is in Sepharad, shall possess the cities of the south. Finally, full restoration is proclaimed: And saviours shall come up on mount Zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORDS (verse 21). The word saviors would be better translated as liberators, who will also serve to proclaim Gods law to Esau and the rest of the world, for we read in Joel 3:16: The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. This is really what counts. No other nation, city or people will be responsible for the implementation of genuine peace, prosperity and a real new world order but Israel, Zion and Jerusalem. Therefore, it is not surprising to see the great leaders of the world express their unbridled hatred against Zion and Jerusalem, not in blatant terms but in camouflaged diplomatic language that rejects the Jewish people from taking possession of Zion, Jerusalem and the Promised Land. No nation on the face of the earth agrees with Gods word of prophecy, and thus we know again that we are in the end stages of the endtimes. Therefore, the question of the hour is this: Are you ready for eternity or are you planning for your temporal earthly existence? MC

How Will the World Become One? One of the most difficult things to grasp for citizens who have lived under a so-called free system such as democracy is that it will usher in the new age of the Antichrist; a temporary time of world peace and prosperity. World unity is being accomplished in different ways and on different levels. An article from the April 26, 1992 edition of the Kansas City Star provides us with a glimpse of how world unity is coming together:
A new economy rules. Because of their different histories and present circumstances, Japan and Europe will be infusing the capitalistic economy with strategies very different from those found in the Anglo-Saxon world. They will force the economic leaders of the 19th and 20th century, the United Kingdom and the United States, to alter the way they play the economic game.37

The new social/capital economy will incorporate different strategies and is indeed altering the traditional economic game the leaders of the world have played thus far. What we see developing today is unprecedented. The success lies in rejecting the old traditional ways and pulling out onto new avenues to achieve prosperity, success and unity. Britain first held the torch but the United States has been the worlds economic leader for most of the last century. If other nations tried to interfere, they were silenced by force. For example, when the Dutch established New Amsterdam (todays New York), the British simply told them to get out, and they had no choice but to obey. This type of power wielding was the norm in politics, economy, military and religion until the beginning of the 1900s. As already mentioned, the United States is no longer the undisputed leader of the world. Our national debts testify against any other theory. Britain, once a world empire, is now one of the poorer nations in Europe. Englands standard of

living is substantially lower than that of Switzerland, Sweden, Germany, and Norway. So, just as was pointed out in the Kansas City Star article, the old Anglo-American system is failing and will be surpassed by the new social/capital world system now being developed in Europe. The Coming European World The new European power structure will fulfill the prophetic predictions that tell us that a one-world system will be implemented. Once the system is established, it will fall into the hands of an extremely clever person the Bible identifies as the Antichrist. The fourth Gentile empire, which is being established today, does not need to be labeled as the Roman Empire or the One-World Order. These and many other labels that are being coined today will ultimately merge into one. Whether the unity of the world is promoted by certain organizations such as the Illuminati, Bilderbergers, the Club of Rome, the G-7, the United Nations, or any other, the aim and the result will be the same. It is not necessary to distinguish between each of them and analyze their objectives because it is the same one-world spirit. The same spirit prompted the building of the Tower of Babel. We can justifiably call the movement toward world unity an un-

mistakable sign of the endtimes. The Antichrist will be especially successful in the last days when he incorporates the world into one. Important for Christians to understand is that the progress and subsequent success of the new world is not necessarily evil and should not be rejected by believers, but we must always keep in mind that we are in the world and not of the world. All Governments Are Ordained by God When we analyze the situation of the world, we must not forget that there is no power [government] but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God (Romans 13:1). When Christians become politically partial, then we are actively participating in the political process and become part of the world. All governments have been ordained by God, but each and every one is placed under the jurisdiction of the devil because he is the god of this world. He is the prince of the powers of darkness. No doubt, there are great differences between the various governments, and surely, the communist governments committed more evil acts than the democratic governments, but these things have no direct relationship to the Church of Jesus Christ. Using All Things Liberally The Bible is clear that regardless of the worlds evil condition, believers can make use of all things in our service to God. Thus, we read in 1 Corinthians 3:22: Whether Paul, or Apollos, or Cephas, or

the world, or life, or death, or things present, or things to come; all are yours. We may use all modern facilities, inventions and products to further the Gospel, and not feel like we have to analyze everything for hidden diabolic intent. For example, we have had people tell us they will not subscribe to our magazine because we accept credit cards as forms of payment. These people assumed that we were in cahoots with the devil, but we would be blind if we denied that a one-world economy already existed. New Currency Much has been written about the proposed new money. While in many parts of the world, new money is being issued rather frequently, it is almost unthinkable in the United States. We have gotten used to the greenback over the last several generations. This is equally true for the British currency. Incidentally, both currencies are continuously losing purchasing power and financial experts have little doubt that the currencies will need to be replaced. The following is an interesting article in connection with this idea:

Does that sound like some overly optimistic prediction? Wrong! This was written in 1870 by Mr. Feer Herzog, the Swiss Finance Minister in France. Already at that time, there were those who dreamed of a unified Europe and a united currency! World Communism What is especially unique today is the fact that the competing forces of capitalism and communism are being merged into one since the fall of international communism. The communist system could not compete with social/capitalism because it ignored monetary policy. Back in 1967 Dr. Wim Malgo wrote an article in our first American edition of Midnight Call entitled, Communism: Doomed to Fail. We have witnessed its collapse but it was unthinkable in 1967 because we had heard so much about the great communist threat. Russia was ahead of the United States in weapons production and space travel and she was swallowing up one country after another. The U.S. lost the war against the small nation of North Vietnam. The communists achieved one great victory after another in many parts of the world. Why did communism fail? There were many reasons, but one specific point that I would like to mention here is that communism failed to consider that man is basically evil, selfish and money hungry. The communists motto was God is dead!

When my mother-inlaw was alive she frequently traveled behind the Iron Curtain to visit her relatives in communist East Germany. She always brought Midnight Call literature with her in spite of the fact that it was forbidden. She was caught with the literature several times, but the authorities did not arrest her because of her age. When in East Germany, Mom always took long walks in the fields of the countryside. On one occasion, she saw a large sign in a wheat field that the communists had put up that said, Ohne Gott und Sonnenschein bringen wir doch die Ernte ein! (Without God and sunshine we will still bring the harvest in.) The communists challenged God. Their confidence was strengthened because they had just imported brand new grain harvesters from Russia, which were supposedly capable of harvesting wheat during wet seasons. Then one day it started to rain. This, of course was not unusual but the rain continued for seven days. The result was predictable. The crop was flattened. They were unable to harvest the grain even with the most sophisticated Russian machinery. The billboards disappeared overnight. The communists had taken them down because they were embarrassed by their arrogance. I dont have to tell you that my mother-in-law, who was a believer, praised the Lord, rejoicing in

her heart to see these foolish people defeated by the mighty hand of God. Anti-Christ Capitalist The capitalistic system is not anti-God but antiChrist. The system of capital democracy will usher in the Antichrist; therefore, I propose we watch it more carefully in our day. Communism was based upon the productivity of the worker. But communism failed because it was not centered on the love of money. Instead, they invented their own financial system that was not backed by personal incentives for the individual. Communism rejected that idea and developed the philosophy that all people are created equal, subsequently, they will remain equal. A degree of greediness is essential in order to make a capitalistic economy work properly. People who seek personal wealth generally work a lot more than the average citizen. Many successful businessmen work between 12 and 16 hours a day. Some work six, even seven days a week. They think about profit and individual wealth all the time. They are dedicated to success, and they love money. Believers Lesson Believers must learn a lesson here: we must also work day and night, but the work we do is of eternal value. Gold and silver perish, but precious souls that will be saved by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ will remain forever. They will make up our crown of jewels, our reward for all of eternity. We all need money. Midnight Call Ministries could not function without money. We must pay to print our magazines, books and tracts. We need money for wages, missionaries, and postage. We need money for just about everything. But money should only serve to sustain our standard of living, and most of all, to further the work of the Lord. That is the reason the Lord gives us health: so that we can work, earn money, and help to further the Gospel. Ultimate Control Money will play a major role in the coming oneworld system. In the book of Revelation, we read: And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name (Revelation 13:16-17). This is obviously the ultimate system for money control, as far as the endtimes are concerned. The Mark of the Beast, or the number of his name, will become a financial necessity. I do not believe, however, that this mark will be forced upon people. The general public will recognize the advantages this system provides and will gladly receive it. It is significant that worship is mentioned first. The people who will receive the Mark of the Beast will be convinced that this is the right thing to do because the system will eliminate many of the evils within our society. Think about it: Tax fraud deepens our national debt and places more burden upon the honest citizens. The drug trade would receive an immediate death blow. The evil deeds of drug dealers would stop because there would be no more

There is no difference at death, regardless of whether you are Sam Walton [founder of the Wal-Mart chain], who was called the richest man in the world, or the poor homeless fellow who lives underneath a bridge. The only thing that counts when you die is whether you trusted in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ.

Credit Cards: The First Step Toward Global Money It is necessary today to have a credit card if you wish to travel, especially to foreign countries, as it would be very difficult to make hotel and airplane reservations without one. A credit card is the most economic and practical form of currency you can use in a foreign country. It will save you from having to go through the time consuming process of exchanging American dollars for local currency, not to mention the astronomical fees charged by the moneychangers. We talked earlier about a global currency and pointed out that the credit card is the beginning of a unified currency. Unfortunately, someone could use it simply by forging your signature; therefore, it is almost natural that this system would have to develop further. A credit system that cannot be lost or stolen will offer itself as the ultimate in security a permanent bodily mark! This global system will be the most successful financial/political/economic and religious system the world has ever known! Just think for a moment about the amount of money that could be saved by operating a oneworld government with only one military force. Think about the tax cuts and the money freed up for more beneficial uses. It is for that reason the nations will gladly accept the Mark of the Beast with the new world ruler system that promises peace and prosperity on earth. Eternal Unity But, while the world is being united and prepares to welcome the Antichrist, believers are

When Jesus cried out My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? He had paid the price in full for the sins of all mankind. Calvary finished the payment for sin and unified all who believe. Mans unity is based on his own intellectual capacity, which is tainted with sin and will lead to Armageddon. Money is still the name of the game whether you are the richest man on earth or a homeless person. There is no difference at death, regardless of whether you are Sam Walton [founder of the Wal-Mart chain], who was called the richest man in the world, or the poor homeless fellow who lives underneath a bridge. The only thing that counts when you die is whether you trusted 1064 in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus Christ. MC

Voluntary Devotion David did not demand Jonathans devotion, nor does the Lord demand it from us. Our devotion must come from the source of love. Jonathan forgot himself and thought only of David. It should be the same for us if Christ dwells in our hearts. This exemplary form of devotion is also found in the Apostle Paul. As valuable as his own righteousness had once been, he spoke these profound words after the Lord saved his soul: But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ (Philippians 3:7-8). The Refugee in the School Of Suffering The stories of Davids flight are like a great adventure. When David and Saul met for the last time, David put his pursuer to shame by saying, the king of Israel is come out to seek a flea, as when one doth hunt a partridge in the mountains (1 Samuel 26:20). Remember that David fell from the highest ranks of Sauls court to the deepest pit of a homeless refugee. At first he stood alone. How could God have allowed this to happen? Why didnt He answer Davids prayer and free him from this suffering? David listened to what Abigail had told him: Yet a man is risen to pursue thee, and to seek thy soul: but the soul of my lord shall be bound in the bundle of life with the LORD thy God (1 Samuel 25:29). David knew that his life was being held in the strong hand of the One who anointed him as king. He clung to the

fact that the Lord of hosts would not only determine the beginning, but also the end of his sufferings under King Saul. The Prayer of Growing Trust And Saul sought to smite David even to the wall with the javelin; but he slipped away out of Sauls presence, and he smote the javelin into the wall: and David fled, and escaped that night. Saul also sent messengers unto Davids house, to watch him, and to slay him in the morning: and Michal Davids wife told him, saying, If thou save not thy life to night, to morrow thou shalt be slain (1 Samuel 19:1011). The pressure was increasing and the clouds of darkness gathered on the horizon. This story would have had a much different ending had Saul drowned the first signs of jealousy in a sea of prayer! Think about how dreadfully dangerous those days must have been for David! Sauls hatred caused him to leave his own house. David did not voluntarily walk out on his family, he was forced to flee! He knew of no sin in his life that could have caused such an attack, For, lo, they lie in wait for my soul: the mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O LORD (Psalm 59:3). When we find ourselves in similar situations, we can learn how to overcome such adversity through Davids trials. If you notice how David confronted this increasing pressure you will understand why God allows clouds of darkness to gather over us. David begins this psalm by casting himself upon God in order to find liberation in Him. From a feeling of total helplessness, he prayed himself into a peaceful trust and a song of victory. This occurred despite the fact that his situation had not changed, the enemy was still lying in wait for him.

Davids attitude in the battle with Goliath was more admirable because he trusted not in weapons or armored protection, but solely on the Lord.
In desperation he cried out to the Lord for physical salvation. Snares and resistance awaited him everywhere, but David escaped the terror and found peace in the Lord. Momentary Affliction David knew that every night of affliction and tribulation must come to an end, weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning (Psalm 30:5). God does not allow the enemy to test us beyond our limits. Sometimes joy may not come the next morning, but it never comes too late! Inwardly in Great Danger During his flight from Saul, David approached Ahimelech the priest at Nob. Ahimelech was shocked when he saw David alone and in the typical haste of someone who is fleeing. David wanted to eat something quickly and then continue his flight. To allay the suspicions of the priest, he told a lie. He said that King Saul had sent him on an urgent secret mission. He only came to him to refresh himself. Then David asked Ahimelech if he could give him a weapon. Ahimelech gave him the sword of Goliath and David fled to Achish, the king of the Philistines. It was there that he was recognized, but pretended to be mad so that he would not be killed. Here we witness the inner decline of a believing man. Consider these three points: 1) It began with a lie In order not to arouse suspicion, David told Ahimelech, The king hath commanded me a business, and hath said unto me, Let no man know any thing of the business whereabout I send thee, and what I have commanded thee: and I have appointed my servants to such and such a place (1 Samuel 21:2). God does not tolerate lies. 2) Grasping at fleshly weapons The decline continued. First David lied to Ahimelech, now he sought a weapon. David acted much differently when he battled Goliath; he rejected Sauls armor and fought in the name of the Lord with his sling. This time he asked the priest for a spear or sword to protect himself from Sauls wrath. Davids attitude in the battle with Goliath was more admirable because he trusted not in weapons or armored protection, but solely on the Lord.

How quick do we resort to weapons, human help, wisdom and experience when we should take refuge in Christ alone? 3) Listening to people Davids behavior toward Achish reveals that his faith was decreasing. He pretended to be mad, relying on the superstition of the Philistines who would not dare kill such people out of fear that the spirits from their bodies might attack them. David did not fear Goliath but he feared for his life when confronted by Achish, who was a much weaker man. Why? He heard what the highest officers told their lord of him and how they warned him, Is not this David the king of the land? did they not sing one to another of him in dances, saying, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands? (1 Samuel 21:11). And David laid up these words in his heart, and was sore afraid of Achish the king of Gath (1 Samuel 21:12). David took human words to heart instead of trusting in Gods promises, which is why he became confused and fearful. Fear of man will be driven from us when we take the Word of God to heart. How did this inward decline come about? During his flight from Saul, David only thought about saving his own life. He no longer took time to commune with God, who had predestined him to be king. Instead, his fear controlled his thinking and led him to believe that the matter was in his own hands, and he needed to protect his life. Apparently it hadnt occurred to him that this would have been a good time to call upon the Lord. How often do we do this? The momentary stress or distress seems so urgent that we feel like we cannot lose any time in prayer. The only way we will experience victory over all the hectic unrest of everyday life is by hearing the Word of our God and communicating with Him through prayer. David Comes to Know His Homeland Continuing on his flight from King Saul, David hid in caves at Adullam and En-Gedi (Psalm 57, 142). God had not answered Davids prayers regarding Sauls relentless pursuit, but through his flight the Lord gave him the advantage

of traveling around the country he would later rule. Without understanding the purpose, he came to know the various regions of the land and its soil, the agriculture and livestock, crafts and trade, and the needs of his future subjects. From this perspective, all of those years of flight were not in vain, but a necessary preparation for the throne in Jerusalem. Safety in a Foreign Country? For fear of their safety, David brought his parents to the Moabites. The Lord used the prophet Gad to speak to David, Abide not in the hold; depart, and get thee into the land of Judah. Then David departed, and came into the forest of Hareth (1Samuel 22:5). We can only imagine that David was tired of being on the run and wanted to lead a normal life again with his family; however, God had other plans. Although David didnt realize it at the time, God was preparing him to rule through these various trials. Child of God, if you are going through many trials, do not run away, but be still, because the Lord wants to purify, smooth and polish you through these difficult times. The Potter is working on the clay, forming it so that it will become a useful vessel. Later on, David returned to King Achish in Gath with a severe bout of depression. The Bible says, And David said in his heart, I shall now perish one day by the hand of Saul: there is nothing better for me than that I should speedily escape into the land of the Philistines; and Saul shall despair of me, to seek me any more in any coast of Israel: so shall I escape out of his hand (1 Samuel 27:1). In this instance the servant forgot to seek the counsel of his heavenly Master. Certainly the God of Israel could protect him from Saul in the Promised Land! We are all in danger of seeking fast human solutions to our trials instead of enduring until the Lord has done with us as He has chosen.

Flight from God? Why do people choose to flee from God when they are confronted with various persecutions and tribulation? Tortured with a guilty conscience or a broken heart we seek to remedy the problem in our own strength while remaining inwardly empty and restless. Some resort to various forms of psychotherapy, while others run from one pleasure to another. It is in these trying times that we forget that the Maker of heaven and earth is more than capable of coming alongside of us to fix our problem, heal our heart or give us the strength to go forward. Blessed are those who have fled to Jesus during those trying times! Davids Kingship Lessons in Leadership The end of Davids persecution by Saul came when the king was killed, So Saul died, and his three sons, and his armourbearer, and all his men, that same day together (1Samuel 31:6). Davids reaction to the deaths of Saul and Jonathan are surprising. We can easily understand why David would mourn the loss of Jonathan, but that same sorrow of loss is also communicated toward the man who threatened to take Davids life, And David lamented with this lamentation over Saul and over Jonathan his son (2 Samuel 1:17). Davids response gives us a very clear look into his heart. Although Saul had tormented him in every possible way, David did not harbor any resentment, but left it to the Lord to resolve this painful conflict. Right up to the very end, David considered Saul to be the Lords anointed one. He praised the men of Jabesh-Gilead who buried Saul and his two sons. In doing so, David could now begin the next phase of his life without any burden or guilt. It is only to our advantage when we conduct an inner evaluation from time to time by praying like David, Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and

lead me in the way everlasting (Psalm 139:23-24). Ask the Lord to show you whether you are harboring any negative feelings in your heart against your brother or sister. Forgiveness and reconciliation keep our lives free of things that interrupt our connection with the Lord. Many people forget this and walk around with unforgiven sin or a gnawing bitterness in their hearts. Contact with Heaven The difference between Saul and David was that Sauls actions were in vain. He didnt consult God before he did anything, and everything he did do was for his own selfish gain. On the other hand, David, for the most part, sought guidance and direction from the Lord: And it came to pass after this, that David enquired of the LORD, saying, Shall I go up into any of the cities of Judah? And the LORD said unto him, Go up. And David said, Whither shall I go up? And he said, Unto Hebron (2 Samuel 2:1). David was a man of prayer who did not want to take a step without the Lords leading. Beginning at Hebron Before Caleb conquered the city of the Anakims (giants), it was called Kirjath-arba. King Over Israel More blood was shed even after Joab murdered Abner. Two leaders of the bands of soldiers killed Ishbosheth-who had been completely helpless since the death of Abner-while he was sleeping. Then the tribes that did not belong to Judah had finally done what should have been done long ago: they anointed David

as king over all of Israel. The hour had come for David to liberate Jerusalem from the Jebusites. Jerusalem Becomes the Capital In 1996 the city of Jerusalem celebrated its 3,000th anniversary. According to our understanding, Davids men conquered the Jebusite city 1,004 years before Christ. When the king and his army came to Jerusalem, the Jebusites mocked, ...Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither: thinking, David cannot come in hither (2 Samuel 5:6). And David said on that day, Whosoever getteth up to the gutter, and smiteth the Jebusites, and the lame and the blind, that are hated of Davids soul, he shall be chief and captain. Wherefore they said, The blind and the lame shall not come into the house. So David dwelt in the fort, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward (2 Samuel 5:8-9). This was truly a historical hour! The site of the future temple and the throne of David were finally in Israels hands! The necessary preparations had been made in order for this prophecy to be fulfilled. The Lord Jesus called the city, the city of the great King (Matthew 5:35). Jerusalem was greatly contested then, as it is today. We are witnessing the preparations for the final chapter of spiritual history to be completed; namely, the building and culmination of the Church, the Rapture and the Day of the Lord for Israel and the nations. The Enemy Aims at the Shepherds Soon after David was anointed king over Israel, the Philistines mobilized their armies, But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David (2 Samuel 5:17). The Philistines figured that if they could get the shepherd (King David) then they could get the sheep (the people). This event offers a practical lesson that applies to our lives. The enemy has made pastors (the shepherds of Gods people) his special target. If he can bring about the fall of one, he can do much damage to a church or Christian institution. Let us pray for the protection of our pastors in this delicate role that (1047) they have been called to serve. MC

Spend all day in Jerusalem. Visit the Temple Mount, Via Delarosa, the Old City, Church of the Holy Sepulcher, Mount Zion and the Upper Room. Then we will travel to the Mount of Olives and walk down to the Garden of Gethsemane, and visit so many other special places that we dont have room to list all the details. We will return to our hotel that evening.

After breakfast we will leave Jerusalem and Judea and head west to the valley of Ajalon, where Joshua fought against the Canaanites and God caused the sun and the moon to stand still. Then we will head to the city of Jaffa. We continue on to Tel Aviv and Caesarea, where we will visit the amazing excavations of a Roman theater and many other historical places. We continue to Beth Shalom, Midnight Calls own guest house, located in Haifa. From there we will proceed to Muchruka, the location of Elijahs sacrifice on Mt. Carmel. Then we will head to the Sea of Galilee for dinner and overnight at our hotel.

Today we visit the Holocaust Memorial Center Yad Vashem. Follow the road to the Mount of the Beatitudes. We will visit several other biblical places before we head to Capernaum. The famous St. Peters fish will be served for lunch. Then we will sail to Tiberius via the Sea of Galilee. From there, we will drive to the Jordan River, where opportunity for baptism will be provided. The author would like to show you an amazing parallel to Israels past, present and future in the raising of Lazarus through the Lord Jesus Christ.

ethany, where Lazarus and his two sisters lived, and where Jesus was often a guest, is situated on the Mount of Olives. We read in Mark 11:1, And when they came nigh to Jerusalem, unto Bethphage and Bethany, at the mount of Olives, he sendeth forth two of his disciples. The Mount of Olives in itself has prophetic significance. From there the Lord Jesus ascended into heaven, and when He returns in great power and glory, His feet will stand upon the Mount of Olives (compare Luke 24:50-51 and Zechariah 14:4). One translation of the word Bethany is house of misery (from the root anah, which means to suffer, be oppressed). How Israel had suffered in past centuries of her history; how the Jews were continually oppressed! Thus the name Bethany points on the one hand to Israels greatest Son, Jesus Christ, and His suffering for the whole world, Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted (Isaiah 53:4). On the other hand, however, the name Bethany points also to the great misery and suffering of Israel. The Messiah, the Anointed One, will one day return though, and just as He did then with Lazarus, save and raise up His people.

We read in Psalm 22:24, For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard. When Lazarus was sick and miserable, they sent for the Lord Jesus and asked Him to come and make him well, Therefore his sisters sent unto him, saying, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick (John 11:3). We can see from the words, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick that Lazarus is a prophetic picture of Israel. Gods love for His people is inviolable. Even if the whole world (including a part of Christianity) turns against Israel in hatred, Gods love for His people is unshakable, as it says in the first book of Kings, the Lord loved Israel for ever (1 Kings 10:9). Such a deep and loving relationship was what Jesus had with Lazarus. We see this from the fact that He knew Lazarus, in contrast to the many people whom He also healed. This is why Lazaruss sisters were able to say, Lord, behold, he whom thou lovest is sick. As members of the Church of Jesus Christ, we should also continually remind our Lord in prayer of His people. He loves them, took Israels sins upon

Lazaruss and Israels sickness

for the glory of God! The sickness of Lazarus is also a moving picture of Israel, When Jesus heard that, he said, this sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby (John 11:4). He knew beforehand that His friend Lazarus would die, but He also knew that He would raise him up again, and that ultimately everything had to serve the glory of God and His own glory, and that this was a prophetic act. As a nation, Israel had died and was buried in the graves of the nations, but she did not remain in this condition. We see this clearly from the following words, I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin. God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew (Romans 11:1-2). It is by no means as many Christians theologians explain, that Israel is no longer accepted by God, and that the Church is now in place of Israel. Israel has been set aside by God so that we of the Gentiles, i.e. the nations, could be saved. This is also expressed prophetically in John 11:14-15, in my opinion: Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead. And I am glad for your sakes that I was not there, to the intent ye may believe; nevertheless let us go unto him. The Lord deliberately hesitated to go to Lazarus so that Mary and Martha, who are a picture of the Church, would believe. The Lord postponed the raising of Israel for two days, so that He could save us of the nations and lead us to believe. The Church had to come into being. Paul explains this as follows in Romans 11:11, I say then, Have they stumbled that they should fall? God forbid: but rather through their fall salvation is come unto the Gentiles, for to provoke them to jealousy. The Lord commanded, Loose him, and let him go (John 11:44). Lazarus was liberated, and Israel will also be liberated in the same way. In my opinion, this goal will be reached after 4,000 years of Jewish history, and then Jesus will set up the millennium of peace with Israel. The most extensive and expensive scientific instrument in history is due to start working at Cern, the European particle physics laboratory near Geneva. Two beams of protons will accelerate in opposite directions around a 27 km tunnel under the Alpine foothills until they are traveling almost at the speed of light and then smash together, reproducing on a tiny scale the intense energy of the new-born universe after the inaugural Big Bang 15bn years ago.
As exotic sub-atomic particles spring fleetingly into existence for the first time on Earth, the $8bn Large Hadron Collider or LHC will give thousands of physicists around the world a cornucopia of data with which to create and refine theories about the nature of the universe. Peter Higgs of Edinburgh University proposed the Higgs boson in the 1960s to explain how matter acquires its most basic property: mass. The idea is that a Higgs field pervades the universe; the more strongly an object interacts with it, the more mass it has. According to physics theory, any force field must have an accompanying fundamental particle and the Higgs boson goes with the Higgs field. None of this is easily explained in non-scientific language. One analogy is to imagine the Higgs field as a cocktail party in which people are evenly distributed through the room. Then a celebrity walks across the space, attracting clusters of admirers who slow her progress a resistance to movement analogous to the mass acquired by a particle. The lightest predicted superparticle, and the one most likely to be generated by the LHC, is the neutralino. Its discovery would delight those cosmologists who believe that superparticles make up dark matter, the mysterious substance that accounts for a quarter of the universe but does not emit or interact with electromagnetic radiation. Beyond supersymmetry lies the hope that the LHC may confirm more speculative ideas. For example string theory, the most comprehensive attempt to explain the underlying nature of the universe, predicts that six extra dimensions lie hidden within the three familiar dimensions of space. Could the collisions at Cern create enough energy to give physicists a glimpse into these hidden dimensions? Best of all would be total surprises revelations that have not occurred even to the most brilliant theorists. Physicists have been waiting a long time for the LHC. Cern started planning it in the 1980s, as a follow-up machine to LEP, the Large Electron-Positron collider for which the 27km subAlpine tunnel was originally excavated. A boost for the project was the cancellation in 1993 of the planned US Superconducting Super Collider. This made the LHC a de facto global instrument and helped Cern to pull in $500m worth of US public funding, mainly for the six giant detectors that will make sense of the particles it generates. Although the primary purpose of Cern is, of course, high energy physics, its prodigious data output has also made it a computing pioneer indeed the worldwide web was invented there. When the LHC begins operations, it will produce 15 petabytes (15m gigabytes) of data annually, enough to fill 100,000 DVDs a year. The long timescales involved in planning and building high-energy physics facilities mean that the leadership at Cern is already thinking about what comes next. The LHC is scheduled to receive a major upgrade in 2016, which should keep it going into the late 2020s. By then a global successor, the International Linear Collider or ILC, may be in operation.

UN Council Slams Israel Over Gaza

European nations abstained on a U.N. Human Rights Council vote blasting Israel over the Gaza blockade. The resolution, adopted by a vote of 30-1 in Geneva, called for urgent international action to put an immediate end to the grave violations committed by the occupying power, Israel, in the occupied Palestinian territory. Canada cast the sole opposing vote on the resolution, while 15 other countries abstained. China and Russia both backed the resolution. Slovenia, speaking for the European Union, said the resolution lacked an acknowledgement of civilian casualties on both sides. The Human Rights Council and its predecessor, the U.N. Human Rights Commission, both have been dismissed by Jewish human rights groups as a farce that disproportionately and unfairly targets Israel. U.S. Ambassador Warren Tichenor said the council had squandered its credibility by failing to address continued rocket attacks against Israel. Todays actions do nothing to help the Palestinian people, in whose name the supporters of this session claim to act, he said in a statement.

Jesus Movie for Iranian Movie Screens

TEHERAN - A director who shares the ideas of Irans hardline president has produced what he says is the first film giving an Islamic view of Jesus Christ, in a bid to show the common ground between Muslims and Christians. Nader Talebzadeh sees his movie, Jesus, the Spirit of God, as an Islamic answer to Western productions like Mel Gibsons 2004 blockbuster The Passion of the Christ, which he praised as admirable but quite simply wrong. Talebzadeh said he even went to Gibsons mansion in Malibu, California, to show him his film. But it was on Sunday and the security at the gate received the film and the brochure and promised to deliver it, though the Iranian never heard back. The film, funded by state broadcasting, faded off the billboards but is far from dead, about to be recycled in a major 20 episode spin-off to be broadcast over state-run national television this year. Talebzadeh insists it aims to bridge differences between Christianity and Islam, despite the stark divergence from Christian doctrine about Christs final hours on earth. It is fascinating for Christians to know that Islam gives such devotion to and has so much knowledge about Jesus, Talebzadeh told AFP. By making this film I wanted to make a bridge between Christianity and Islam, to open the door for dialogue since there is much common ground between Islam and Christianity, he said. The director is also keen to emphasise the links between Jesus and one of the most important figures in Shia Islam, the Imam Mahdi, said to have disappeared 12 centuries ago but whose return to earth has been a key tenet of the Ahmadinejad presidency. The bulk of Jesus, the Spirit of God, which won an award at the 2007 Religion Today Film Festival in Italy, faithfully follows the traditional tale of Jesus as recounted in the New Testament Gospels, a narrative reproduced in the Holy Quran and accepted by Muslims. But in Talebzadehs movie, God saves Jesus, depicted as a fair-complexioned man with long hair and a beard, from crucifixion and takes him straight to heaven.

It seems impossible to believe but it is true, only Canada cast the opposing vote against this resolution. Quite apparently, no one asked for the reason that caused the suffering of the people of Gaza. With this resolution, the United Nations, the representative of the entire world, clearly demonstrate their one-sidedness against the Jewish state. One wonders why no such resolutions are being adopted against other countries of which there are many who outrightly violate international law and disregard basic practice human rights. But here again we see, Israel is different, these votes and resolutions just confirm the prophetic Scripture: For thou art an holy people unto the LORD thy God, and the LORD hath chosen thee to be a peculiar people unto himself, above all the nations that are upon the earth (Deuteronomy 14:2).

Islam will not swallow Christianity neither will Christianity displace Islam but the tendency towards a peaceful understanding has been in the works for almost 2000 years. 2nd Corinthians speaks of another Jesus, another spirit and another Gospel. Therefore such development is nothing new. However, the so-called politically correct unity among religion is something new and so is the new spirit of the new Roman Empire under the motto United in Diversity. Also we must recall that the Catholic film The Passion of Christ was whole-heartedly received by the overwhelming majority of Christianity, therefore we should not be surprised that Churchanity is drawing ever closer to Islam.

Another Intelligence Failure

The Syrian desert facility that Israel apparently attacked in a shadowy Sept. 6 raid-and that some administration officials believe was a secret nuclear reactor-might be several years old.
Israel bombed the complex near the Euphrates River months after alerting the United States to the existence of a suspect Syrian facility, according to intelligence sources. But photographic evidence obtained by NEWSWEEK shows the boxy main building already existed in 2003, and a European intelligence source said the program might have begun years earlier. The source, who asked for anonymity when discussing sensitive information, said fresh intelligence suggests the Syrians actually started a hush-hush program under the regime of late president Hafez Assad, who died in 2000, and that initially, clandestine factions of the government may have kept it secret from Bashar al-Assad, Hafezs son and successor. If true, it could be a significant intelligence failure by American and other Western spy agencies. (The CIA declined to comment.) The facility in the 2003 satellite photo, taken by the commercial remote-sensing company GeoEye, appears identical to the one pictured in satellite images snapped weeks before the Israeli strike, with one notable distinction: the recent photos include what analysts have described as a pumping station along the Euphrates. Nuclear experts say Sryia probably put in the pumping station to cool a reactor, which many believe was based on a North Korean design and was years from completion. A post-raid commercial satellite image taken last week showed the site had been flattened by bulldozers-evidence that most experts agree demonstrated Syrias desire to hide all traces of the facility. Israel has kept quiet about its attack, while Syria denied having a secret nuclear program. Immediately after the bombing, many nuclearproliferation experts in the United States and Europe expressed doubt that Syria had the money or the scientific capability for a secret atomic program. They also questioned whether North Korea would be desperate and greedy enough to sell nuclear wares to Syria. The new photos now have skeptics admitting they may have been mistaken.

Russia sent two long-range bombers to the Bay of Biscay, off the French and Spanish Atlantic coasts, to testfire missiles in what it billed as its biggest navy exercise in the area since Soviet times.
British and Norwegian Tornado and F-16 jets were escorting the Russian Blackjack bombers, Interfax reported, quoting the Russian Air Force. However, the French Defense Ministry spokesman said his country had been informed about the Russian exercises. Firing missiles off the coastline of two members of the NATO military alliance is the latest in a series of Kremlin moves flexing Moscows military muscle on the world stage. The Russian bombers joined aircraft carriers, battleships and submarine hunters from the Northern and Black Sea fleets for the Atlantic exercises, which come as the country enters an election campaign to choose a successor to President Vladimir Putin. The air force is taking a very active part in the exercises of the navys strike force in the Atlantic, Russias air force said in a statement. Today, two strategic Tu-160 bombers departed for exercises in the Bay of Biscay, which will carry out a number of missions and will conduct tactical missile launches, it said. Putin, widely popular as his second four-year term draws to a close, has sought to use such moves to revive domestic and international respect for Russias armed forces which were shattered by the chaos of the 1990s. A former KGB lieutenant-colonel, Putin has boosted military spending, renewed long-range bomber missions and approved a plan to upgrade Russias nuclear attack forces, which he said was needed after NATO built up its forces close to Russias borders. But some analysis note that while the saber rattling is popular at home, Russian military spending in absolute terms is substantially lower than that of China, Britain or France and less than a tenth of that of the United States.

Scientists in Finland said they had replaced a 65-year-old patients upper jaw with a bone transplant cultivated from stem cells isolated from his own fatty tissue and grown inside his abdomen.
Researchers said the breakthrough opened up new ways to treat severe tissue damage and made the prospect of custom-made living spare parts for humans a step closer to reality. There have been a couple of similar-sounding procedures before, but these didnt use the patients own stem cells that were first cultured and expanded in laboratory and differentiated into bone tissue, said Rittia Suuronen of the Regea Institute of Regenerative Medicine, part of the University of Tampere. Renault and Nissan Test Battery Cars

Renault has not yet mastered all the technological challenges involved in swapping electric cars battery packs between vehicles, according to its head of product planning. The French carmaker and its Japanese partner Nissan outlined an ambitious electric vehicle project backed by Israels government that hinges on quick battery exchanges at a net work of filing station-type establishments. Under the plan, Silicon Valley start up Project Better Place will wire Israel with 500,000 charging points and 150 battery-swap stations where motorists can exchange their depleted batteries for recharged ones within about five minutes. Tests of the grid will being this year, and Renault/Nissan will sell a new electric car from 2011. The project will, if successful, help Israel reduce its reliance on oil, and mark the largest nationwide roll-out of electric vehicles yet. Renault/Nissan said that the scheme marked the first illustration of the alliances commitment to mass-market zero-emission vehicles all over the world. Electric cars have thus far failed to catch on because of high prices, short driving ranges and limited charging infrastructure. It remains unclear whether Israelis will buy Renault/Nissans cars in large numbers. Electric cars are not a proven technology yet, so people have to wait and see whether it works in the way intended, said Estelle Lloyd, founder of Venture Business Research. Sons of God Dear Brother Froese, A friend gave me a couple of copies of Midnight Call a while back, thus the slow response. These sons of God have caused my curiosity to be ever with me over the years, and bit by bit, I believe The Spirit of God revealed their place in history, I would very much appreciate it if you would go over my hypotheses as to where they fit in history, with your critical analysis. These sons of God appear in the book of Beginnings therefore they existed in that time period. The Jehovahs Witness believe or believed they were fallen angels who took on the form of man, and were terminated with the flood. When the Jehovah Witness tell me some thing my first reaction is to question it, so thats were my quest for the truth began about 1967. First of all, you must ask yourself how long did Adam and Eve live in the garden before they sinned? Two weeks, two years or a millennium. I do not believe Satan could have deceived them in a short period of time, after all they were our parents, so we can have some idea of their traits. Having said that, why do you suppose God told Eve, after they were expelled from the Garden, that she would now bear children in pain? The significance of that pain would only be relevant if she bore children without it! Therefore, I must assume children were born in the Garden, if they were in the Garden for a short period of time say 50 or 100 years, how may children would have been expelled with Adam and Eve? There will never be more than one third the population of the Angels that rebelled. Gods Heavenly Expansion is taking place here on earth by His children from Adam, and then only the redeemed. I have speculated that when these fallen angels are replaced in number by the redeemed, then Gods heaven will be full again. Answer: There is no evidence in Scripture that sons were born unto Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. After the fall, Adam called his wifes name Eve (Genesis 3:20). That was the birth

of womens liberation. She now had her own name. Before they had but one name: Male and female created he them; and blessed them, and called their name Adam, in the day when they were created (Genesis 5:2). They were a perfect unity, according to Gods plan. After they were deported from the Garden of Eden we read, Adam knew Eve his wife and she conceived (Genesis 4:1). Regarding the sons of God in Genesis 6:2, there are diversive opinion among Bible scholars. My understanding would identify the sons of God as true believers in God, not angels or demons. Looking at Strongs Hebrew Dictionary, the word bn; bane or ben reflects the Hebrew translation into English but does not necessarily mean son. The definition is given as grandson, nation, quality, or condition. That also applies to Job 1:6 and 2:1. In regard to the word virgin , the literal translation is young woman but in the context, it means virgin. Its been several decades ago since I did some math and found that before Adam and Eve died, they could have

Answer: The Bible identifies three categories of nations: Jews, Gentiles, and the Church. All nations, by whatever name, are Gentiles subject to Lucifer, the god of this world. There are some countries specifically identified in Scripture, first Israel, then her neighbors and a number of European countries such as Greece, Italy, Spain. Of course, China is significant, so is the United States, India, and

about 200 others, but their significance is only revealed through the last Gentile power structure, that is Rome (Europe). Note carefully that the Bible specifically identifies the last Gentile kingdom as being global, all the earth, that means through Europe, representing the nations of the world, being the counter weight to Israel, all nations find their identity. Remember that only Europe conquered the entire world by establishing colonies on all five continents. Sooner or later, we will see the progressive integration of Asia and Africa into the European power structure. The other two continents America and Australia are based on European principals, laws and practices. It is interesting to see communist China hosting the next Olympics, a European created, administrated and dominated event. Democracy, a political system, originated in Greece and was practiced to a small degree in the Roman Empire. Today, its global. When trying to understand China or any other country, look at Israel where God will establish His kingdom on earth and bring peace to the world and then look at Europe, you will notice its the great imitation, mimicking Gods prophetic Word of establishing peace on earth, but on their own humanistic basis.

Christ Omniscient? Dear Editor, I am writing regarding your response to a question posed in the Letters to the Editor section of the January 2008 issue. The question posed was Is Jesus Christ omniscient? I was very taken

aback by one part of your reply in which you stated For example, when Jesus was praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, He did not know whether He would die there instead of on Golgothas cross. Thus, He prayed to the Father, asked if this cup (in the Garden of Gethsemane) could pass, which it did, according to Hebrews 7:5. Incidentally, I find nothing in Hebrews 7:5 which refers this topic. I believe it is quite clear that Jesus knew He would die on the cross and not in the Garden of Gethsemane. First of all, Jesus was a student of the Scriptures and would have been very much aware of the prophecies dealing with His coming to earth as the sacrifice of our sins. Secondly, Jesus Himself spoke of the manner in which He would die. In John 3:14 Jesus said, And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up. Also, in Matthew 26:2 He said, You know that after two days the Passover is coming, and the Son of Man is to be delivered up for crucifixion. He also demonstrated His foreknowledge when He predicted that Judas would betray Him and Peter would deny Him three times. So, although Jesus was not given the time of His return to earth by the Father, it is clear that He had the ability to foresee events that were to occur here on earth.

Answer: Thank you for your alertness. The reference given, Hebrews 7:5 should be Hebrews 5:7: Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared. This is the only time Jesus asked the Father to spare His life (the cup). This Scripture confirms that His prayer was answered because He was saved from death at that moment in the Garden of Gethsemane. I would take issue with using the words, foreknowledge and foreseen events because Jesus knew about these things based on His knowledge of the prophetic Word, not because He was a super human being, as some imagine. Jesus Christ was fully man and experienced all the limitations of our physical existence on earth. Philippians 2:8 reads: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Incidentally, note the two types of death; in the garden and on the cross. Hebrews 2:17 furthermore confirms. Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren. He was 100% man. But He was also 100% God and that is the mystery of the Lord Jesus Christ which we cannot fathom with our intellect, neither through theological studies.

Answer: Here are my answers: 1. This speaks of the remnant of Israel who will see the dead bodies of those who rebelled against the Lord. The second part of verse 24 simply defines their eternal destination: the Lake of Fire. That does not indicate they literally see a lake of fire. 2. This is the Rapture. It will happen in the twinkling of an eye. At the moment we will be translated from our earthly body into our heavenly body (read also 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17). 3. This reveals the day of the wrath of the Lord. At that time, nothing will help, no possession, no gold or silver.

4. It will occur when we are in the presence of the Lord. Read 1 Corinthians 15:55 and Revelation 7:17. 5. Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty in the war (Isaiah 3:25). Prophetic Understanding Dear Arno Froese, The sea mentioned in the Bible means hell. Lot of people should understand that the beast is coming out of hell and going into perdition, that is hell go into the Vatican, chapter 18:2, the habitation of devils, etc. In Hal Lindseys book, The Final Battle, he refers to the fallen angels rites, etc. going on in the Vatican, which also takes place in it. The beast was and is not and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit (Revelation 17:8) that will happen 3 1/2 years into the tribulation, hell destroy the Vatican in one hour. Antichus Eppiphanes, who slew a pig in the Jewish temple and threw both all over the walls was also a slave in Rome. As soon as he destroys the Vatican, it will burn in one hour, then hell go to Jerusalem at the end of the first half of the tribulation, hell kill the two witnesses. There will be many Antichrists making false peace pacts with Israel, but the best will not come up out of hell until the great serious second part of the tribulation. In a Moslem newspaper, they said theyd conquered Rome when

they built the mosque near Rome. Jesus talks about having a meeting with the Assyrians on his mountains in the book of Isaiah. However, the Rabbi in Charleston who was in the newspaper here, a few weeks ago, says Antiochus Epiphanes was a Greek and Greeks do have last names ending with it. Was his mom an Arab? The Moslems are known for beheading 666. They are with the Lord in heaven. I dont agree. Chapter 7 in the book of Revelation says hurt not the earth, the sea, nor the trees until we have sealed these 12 tribes. They will go out to witness for Christ during its tribulation. That will be their protection the seal. Revelation 9:4, the locusts will not hurt the 144,000 Jews. The Jews are back in their own land speaking their own language after almost 2,000 years. These 144,000 Jews will be present days Jews, who are alive right now. In Revelation chapter 11:5, God will protect Enoch and Elijah by fire preceding out of their mouth and devouring anyone who gives them trouble. Im sorry my writing is messy, Im tired tonight. Answer: The fact that the Vatican can be seen in the Book of Revelation, particularly beginning with Chapter 12 is clear but, it is wrong to assume that only the Vatican is being referred to here, because the Bible specifically says, all the world (Revelation 13:3). See also verse 8, Revelation 17:3; 18:3; 18:23. You seem to assume that the United States is less demonic than the Vatican. If thats your assumption, then the Scripture is wrong. Also, the sea is not Hell, but the sea represents nations. The devils final destination is the lake of fire. You make some statement about the book, Foxes Book of Martyrs but provided no page number or exact quote. I would be interested to know the reference so I can check as to the truth thereof. Furthermore, you state that I wrote that the 144,000 are with the Lord in Heaven. Again, you need to show exactly where I have written these words. Without proper identification, I can not do any further investigation about these allegations.

Reflexology Again Dear Midnight Call, As I was reading the Letters to the Editorcolumn in your magazine, I was absolutely appalled at

the persons comments about Reflexology being demonic. From my personal experience and study about Reflexology, it turned out to be a God sent remedy for my only child, and a victim of Cerebral Palsy due to brain damage at birth. When Eddie was a year old, I took him to an ophthalmologist due to his obvious visual problem. I was advised by this eye specialist that Eddie would surely be nearly blind for the rest of his life, and advised me not to waste any more money to eye doctors. When Eddie was 2 years old, I started him with Reflexology

and Swedish massage 5 days a week until he was 6 years old. He tested 20-20 on a vision chart. A few years later he could read ordinary print and third grade level, proving once again when modern medicine can no longer cope with certain physical problems, natures methods often result in wonderful miracles. The writer stating that Christians should not believe in her words, demonic activity, simply proves that she was wrong and totally uninformed. I pray that this wrong will be corrected and the truth be printed about Reflexology in the future.

How are the new AIDS vaccines coming along?

e all know a vaccine is a weakened virus or bacterium which is injected in a catheter to the muscles, between the layers of the skin, or under the skin. But, in the case of HIV, the virus which causes AIDS, it simply does not work. This is because the AIDS virus is unique. Early vaccines containing any part of the AIDS virus were deadly, they gave the patient HIV/AIDS! Therefore, the testing of these vaccines were quickly stopped. AIDS was first seen in 1981 and only among homosexual men. In the following years it was seen among intravenous drug users as well. This is a disease of choice and is not spread easily, or by casual contact. The only effective measure against AIDS is abstinence. Unfortunately, AIDS is also transmitted by tainted blood transfusions or by an infected mother during childbirth to her infant or while nursing through the mother's milk. In the past quarter century, billions of dollars have been spent by scientists and researchers throughout the world looking for a cure, but to no avail. When they began searching for drugs to slow down the progression of the disease, they found the drugs destroyed the immune system and allowed other opportunistic diseases to kill the patient. In 1986, they developed protease inhibitors, which slows down the replication of the virus, allowing the patients to live longer, healthier lives. But at the same time, many patients continue their illicit lifestyle, and shoot illegal drugs, thus continuing the spread of this pandemic killer. Since then, researchers have been trying to invent a

vaccine to prevent the transmission of AIDS, without using any part of the AIDS virus. In September, 2007, the Merck Pharmaceutical Company was testing a new vaccine on humans which was to stimulate the immune system to produce T cells, which are antibodies to fight the AIDS virus. They used a common cold virus called Adenovirus and packaged it with a product that can trigger a protective immune system response to HIV without the Adenovirus that delivers them throughout the body. But, something happened during the testing: people who received the vaccine during the testing were more likely to contract AIDS than the people in the study who did not get the vaccine! And the researchers do not know why. Scientists say the Merck failure may set back vaccine research, and the other new vaccines aren't even as promising. There's a lot of disappointment, said John Bartlett, a Johns Hopkins University HIV researcher. Prevention is the biggest failure in the field, I think everyone agrees. Yet, there are other researchers who say we must continue because we were so close, and the Merck vaccine looked so promising before it failed. Of course they would say this, they are receiving millions of dollars in funding. I don't know why we even need a vaccine to prevent AIDS. All we have to do is avoid illicit and immoral behavior, and do not shoot illegal drugs. The Lord has given us a free way out, why would we want to jeopardize our health and our lives? Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death (James 1:15). MC
