Prior learning exemption exam

While developing The Co-op Difference we consulted with co-op managers across the country. We heard overwhelmingly that managers wanted recognition for their years of experience and expertise in co-op housing. To give you credit for your prior experience, CHF Canada is offering experienced co-op managers the option of taking a Prior Learning Exemption Exam instead of the complete course. The exemption exam is made up of the final exams from all five modules, but no course material is provided. To pass the exemption exam you must score at least 80% on the final exam of each module. There is a $100 fee for registering for the Prior Learning Exemption Exam. If you struggle with the final exams for just one or two modules, you can purchase just the modules (with course material) you need to work on for a fee of $150 per module and retake the final exam. If you fail the final exams of four or more modules, you can purchase entire The Co-op Difference course for a fee of $500 and retake all the final exams. When you pass the final exam for all five modules, CHF Canada will consider that you have successfully completed The Co-op Difference course and provide you with a certificate of successful completion. The Institute of Housing Management (IHM) will consider passing the exemption exam as a half credit towards its Property Management Certificate - because there is no course material component. In comparison, participants successfully completing the entire The Co-op Difference with course material will receive a full credit towards IHMs Property Management Certificate. To be eligible to take the Prior Learning Exemption Exam, you must have worked as a housing co-op manager for at least three of the past five years. The Prior Learning Exemption Exam for The Co-op Difference is made up of the final exams of all five modules. To pass the exemption exam, you must receive a grade of 80% or higher on all five exams. If you fail the final exam for one of the modules, you can register for that module through the Course Catalogue. No course materials are provided for the exemption exam.
