General introduction
The enhancement of technology implied in our lives, have been profound. From the inventions of Marconi, Alexander graham bell and fellow innovators onwards for the Caribbean have preoccupied the society with improving conditions that both has a positive and a downfall. It is appallingly obviously our technology has exceeded our humanity-Albert Einstein. Technology has shifted the human mind so banal, that we barely notice it. This forms the theme for my communication portfolio. Negative influences of technological advancement on human psychology. The theme of technology was chosen as I found it very intruding because I grew up being exposed to all sorts of technological and electronic equipment. I have always been interested in technology and I have always tried to keep up with its rapid advances. Exposition, a ten minute speech was presented to my communication studies teacher. The downfalls of technological changes were discussed in the ten minute oration. Topics that were discussed were the preparation of society when dealing with technology as well as the influences on human psychology in the precursory of the exposition. In the reflective piece, quotations were taken from secondary sources. I have chosen to compose a monologue genre titled What gone wrong, which reflects the purpose, the intended audience and the context. I have also chosen to analyse the monologue in terms of communicative behaviours and dialectal variation found therein. Technology has changed our environment and extensively our mentality. Academically, I am interested in attaining the knowledge about psychological changes due to technology amelioration. Acquiring the knowledge would assist me in my future career; psychology as well as my personal interest.

Preface
I have great satisfaction in introducing this monologue entitled The boy from foreign, as my reflective piece. This evaluation study was initiated by me because I trust that it is the most appropriate medium in which the characters of what had gone wrong can imitate the phenomena of technological lifestyles compared to non-technological lifestyles and it influences on their behaviours. The purpose of this genre is to further emphasize and show the negative influences of technological changes on human psychology through the characters in the monologue. Although slightly comical, it is meant to highlight negative changes in human psychology due to technology. The intended audience is firstly, teenagers like me, adults, senescence and the young upcoming generation in the world of technology. This piece would be best presented either as a PowerPoint presentation in the classroom or as an item for debate amongst teenagers for the expansion of their knowledge. This can also be performed by students in a drama group to convey the message on negative influences of technological changes in human psychology.

Reflective piece

Danielle: jus let us take we food and go take in d movie Na.. And leave Mr. Technology alone. Mark: I always taught you have to be dependent on technology for everything but could you teach me how to be independent from technology? Adel: dont worry!

Analysis
I have chosen to analysis my reflective piece The boy from foreign in terms of communicative behaviours and dialectal variation which are found therein. The term dialectal variation refers to a person choice of dialect which can be any variation of Creole or Standard English. Dialect refers to any variety of a language spoken by a group of people. Choice of dialect is determined by the speakers attitude, emotional state and educational background. There are instances in this monologue when both Creole and Standard English are used. Creole language is used by the students in the classroom e.g. Adel: watch he iphone five na, which is used by an Trinidadian to express his attitude towards Mark wealthy possession. The selection of dialectal variation amongst the student was based on education that they used to communicate to each other based on their culture from Trinidad compared to mark who was from England. Adel perception of the language is not being a fancy language influences his choice. In scene three Tiffany, Adel, Dan and Danielle still used Creole English to represent that they were from Trinidad and to show mark that they had a love for they language . This shows the emotional function of dialectal variation. It was also showed that Mark switches his language from Standard English to Creole so that he can carry across his message. Standard English was used by Mark continuously because of his culture. He code switched to Creole English because of his environment that he adapted. Dan also code switch from Creole English to Standard English when the teacher addressed him in class. Dan: allyuh miss coming!! Go back in allyuh seats (Teacher enters the classroom and place her books on the desk. The students is well behave) Teacher: Dan, how are you? Dan: I am fine, thank you. The use of Standard English was easy for Mark to use because it was his natural language since born.

Communicative behaviours associated with language, the non- verbal aspect are used by speakers to emphasize their words. This can be used to show how the speaker truly feels. Within the monologue we saw the evidence how tiffany felt. Tiffany: (eyebrows rise while hands crossed) stupzzzz like wat happen to d rest of

we? Eh. Like he special!. This shows how irritated tiffany was when the teacher only addresses one of the students in the class is one element of communicative behaviour. Mark: excuse me miss, can u email me the notes (The class started to laugh) Adel: he not for real! This is another example of how the class reacted when Mark made his statement. They taught that he was a spoil person who has someone doing this work for him. Mark: stupzzz (With hands on his waist and eyes rolling) while I could stay home and Google maracas bay. This shows pride in his method of research for places to visit. Tiffany: wayyyy like d Trinidadian coming out in yur.. His behaviour show others that he has change from culture for that moment to convey his message. Dialectal variation and communicative behaviours are two of the elements that I have chosen to analysis my reflective piece

Conclusion
In my portfolio: Negative influences of technological advancement on human psychology. I have delved the various issues that came up with this topic including the factors of technology that influence mankind, how it impact on us negatively and our reactions to the negative impacts. Throughout the research, I have concluded in the exposition, reflective and analytical piece, information based on the theme for this portfolio. In the exposition which is an oral presentation, I spoke about the negative factors that will change our behaviours as well as the challenges and an evaluation of the medium used. I also used a dramatized piece to further explain the theme and an analytical section to explain the reflective part in terms of communicative behaviour and dialectal variation. Overall, in the completion of this project it had taught me the importance of commitment and putting your best forward which requires hard work. In the end I fully understood the negative impacts technology has on human.
