Standout Players
CLASS OF 2014
Kamau Stokes, PG, City (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 60 Projection: Mid-Mid Plus D1 Notes
Pure scorer who is possibly the best outside shooter in the area (usually shoots over 50% from 3-pt in games). A vocal on-ball defender who rarely gets beat off the dribble. Simply knows how to play and is a savvy scorer. Tends to fade from play sometimes on the offensive end and disappear a bit, but always puts up solid numbers. Has won at every level. (Note: At his third school in three years, will likely wait until spring to commit).

Clint Robinson, PF, CH Flowers (Springdale, Md.) Height: 67 Projection: Low-Mid D1 Notes
One of the areas top uncommitted post players. Robinson casts a very noticeable presence inside at all times, and has the ability to block shots and score a bit in the low post. He has shown off a few nice post moves in the past, but in this viewing he did most of his work off a dribble or two from about seven feet out. Still seemed to be a bit hobbled by a knee injury he suffered in early December, limiting his ability to run the floor at the level he usually does.

Trevis Buckhanon, PF, Dunbar (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 67 Projection: Low-Mid D1 Notes
Very long, big-time athletic specimen. Has shown MAJOR improvement from last season. His hands have improved, hes developed into a vocal leader on defense, and added some bulk and strength. Main knock on him was that he played soft. Starting to shake that reputation by competing hard and playing through contact down low. Full D1 qualifier who would be very good at a low D1 and a bit of a project at a mid D1. Has real upside though and is finally beginning to realize that upside. Late bloomer.

Rashad Wattie, CG, Edmondson (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 63 Projection: Low-Mid D1 Notes
Built very well and fits the mold of a classic Baltimore City bruiser at either guard spot. Plays with a swagger and toughness that is difficult to describe, but definitely has an imposing presence. Good basketball IQ. Very athletic and has ability to get up and put defender on a poster. Question how effective he is at using his dribble to get into the lane. Having a big senior year and could see a late surge in recruitment in the spring.

Jerrel Cooke, 2G, Randallstown (Randallstown, Md.) Height: 64 Projection: Low-Mid D1 / D1 JUCO Prospect Notes
Scored 24 points in a loss, but had to play the whole game as the lone scoring option on a team struggling with injuries to top players. Was gassed by the end of the game. Extremely long, major upside as a defender. Streaky shooter who get hot and hit shots from deep. Good athlete but wont jump out of the gym. Has a great passing feel for a player of his position and skill set, mainly due to his very good court vision.

Omari George, 2G, City (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 64 Projection: Low D1 Notes
Strong, bullish two guard who quietly and efficiently puts together high scoring outputs. Can defend the wing well and does a really good job at adapting with rotations and movement within a zone. Does not get bullied off the dribble and finishes through contact around the rim. Good foul shooter. Not as explosive as a lot of the players he will match up with at the next level.

Demonte Ojinnaka, WG, JH Blake (Silver Spring, Md.) Height: 64 Projection: Fringe D1-Low D1 Notes
Strong, sturdy wing guard who can handle going either way and can get into the lane. Have seen him on multiple occasions and his jumper is looking tighter with a quicker release, while his body control has improved. Built well and finishes strong around the basket. Very much an isolation-style player at times, hard to tell how much he grips team concepts and working within an offense. Nice upside.

Josh Garrett, PF, Edmondson (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 66 Projection: Fringe D1 Notes
Fairly long, runs the floor well and actively makes plays in transition. Catches the ball well and has nice body control within 10 feet of the hoop. Can operate off a dribble or two. Isnt overly imposing on the boards and can get lost in the shuffle sometimes offensively.

Devin Shuler, PG, CH Flowers (Springdale, Md.) Height: 511 Projection: Fringe D1 Notes
Dependable scorer who has a smooth left-handed jumper and can create his own offense off the dribble. Nice first step with a good wherewithal to know when to drive and kick inside the arc. More of a halfcourt-oriented player who can be very effective coming off screens. Not necessarily a true point but certainly handles well enough and has the inclination to get his teammates involved often.

Patrick Johnson, WG, CH Flowers (Springdale, Md.) Height: 62 Projection: High D2 / Fringe D1 Notes
Having a breakout senior season. High-level athlete who ended up impressively winning the events dunk contest. Moves really well off the ball and gets high-quality looks at basket. Almost all of his shots in multiple viewings have been from within five feet, simply because he has a knack for getting to the rim and finishing through contact. Height is deceiving because he is very long and can defend 2s and 3s. Good defender who is consistently in the right place at the right time. Never will be the primary offensive option on a team, but has a lot of potential. Hasnt needed to show off jumper in multiple viewings because of how many looks he gets right around the rim.

Clay Conner, PG, Oakdale (Ijamsville, Md.) Height: 59 Projection: D2 Offer Notes
Still shocking that Conner doesnt have any D2 offers. Bulldog point guard who is one of the areas toughest, most consistent players and plays with a chip on his shoulder at all times. Had trouble getting going against the very long and athletic City backcourt, but was also dealing with foul trouble (two questionable reach-in calls). Spreads the ball around and gets everyone involved. Hits 3s with range about five feet outside the arc but needs significant space to get his shot off.

Keandre Gibson, PG, City (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 58 Projection: D2 Offer / Possible JUCO prospect Notes
Very small but very efficient and heady point guard. Has as good a natural feel for the game as any point guard in the area and always knows what to do with the ball. Can be trusted as a leader on the floor. Facilitator who makes critical passes and racks up assists. Starting to score a bit more now as a senior. Still very difficult to project level because he is so effective and consistent, but is extremely small. Seems that the Division I ship has sailed, but could be a very capable D2 offer point guard.

Aaron Williams, CG, City (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 61 Projection: D2 Offer potential / Possible JUCO prospect Notes
True combo who can bring the ball up, break a press, and initiate an offense. Doesnt typically look for his own shot too much but has ability to pull up on kick-outs and shoot from deep off the catch. Shoots best from the corners. Looks a step or two slower than he was last year.

Jordan Brooks, 2G, Boys Latin (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 62 Projection: High D3 Notes
Athletic lefty who looked very good going to his right (to the point where a local reporter was shocked to learn that he was left-handed). Brooks gets to the rim and operates well in transition, but can force some shots when he gets around the rim. Has a tendency to leave his feet, which is the main cause for his occasional turnovers. In past viewings, he had mostly played the two, but he played a lot of point and handled the ball quite a bit in this game. Still see him as a two guard, but showed an extra dimension to the point where he could be a combo option.

Khalil Carroll, PG, Woodbridge (Bridgeville, Del.) Height: 60 Projection: High D3 / Possible D2 JUCO prospect Notes
Energetic, playmaking point guard who gets out in transition and plays with swagger. Looks to push the pace often and is effective leading the break. Has a tight handle but sometimes tries to get too flashy; he has the ability to fit passes into tight spaces but seems a bit too comfortable doing it, which could hurt against more aware, savvy competition. Has sneaky bounce - pinned a fast break dunk attempt and can elevate to get his floater off in the lane. Has a decent hesitation dribble to create space for pull-up jumper, which is a fairly reliable shot for him.

Jahmal Eggleston, 2G, Ben Franklin (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 61 Projection: High D3 / Possible D2 JUCO Prospect Notes
Capable scorer who stands out with his energy. Played as hard as anyone in an extremely hard-fought loss. Tough and gritty but somewhat undersized two guard who can stroke from deep and draw contact slashing to the hoop. Showed off ability to finish with either hand on the glass. Classic example of a Baltimore-style guard. Moves well laterally and did a good job of defending a dynamic combo guard.

Trey Henriques, WF, Ben Franklin (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 64 Projection: High D3 / Possible D2 JUCO Prospect Notes
Long, athletic wing forward who was very effective playing at the top of a 3-2 zone. Have had multiple viewings, and looks much better now than ever, especially when operating from the wings on offense. Has transitioned from a 4/5 last season to a 3 this season. Has very good body control now, which is a major improvement. Limited range offensively but now showing the ability and willingness to put the ball on the floor.

Alex Cohen, 2G, Crisfield (Crisfield, Md.) Height: 60 Projection: High D3 / Possible D2 JUCO Prospect Notes
Mainly a shooter who comes off screens and has a trigger-quick release. A lot of range on outside jumper. Can put the ball on the floor and take care of it but doesnt create much of his own offense off the dribble. Would be a good specialist at the JUCO or D3 level to come off the bench and hit shots. Fills up score sheet on a nightly basis against weak competition.

Blair Davis, PG, City (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 510 Projection: D3 Impact / Possible D2 JUCO prospect Notes
Pure point guard who is quick off the bounce and distributes well. Mainly defers to teammates for offense but can get to the rim and is crafty in getting his shot off. Gets after it defensively and embraces being one of the smallest guards on the floor. Does a great job of keeping his man in front of him and preventing dribble penetration. Recovers quickly on skip passes and controls his body well on closeouts.

Raymond McLeod, WG, Great Mills (Great Mills, Md.) Height: 63 Projection: D3 Impact / Possible D2 JUCO prospect Notes
Got a limited viewing, but his length at about 63 and energy level stood out. Got up and blocked a few shots and did a great job of driving baseline and getting to the rim. Seems to translate to the next level as a wing guard but had to play down low a bit for his undersized team. Did some decent work on the boards.

Nick Bullock, WG/WF, Westminster (Westminster, Md.) Height: 64 Projection: Division 3 / Possible D3 Academic Notes Started his game strong out of the gates but faded a bit as action wore on, as did the rest of his team. Bullock plays with strength and purpose, and operated all over the floor. Has a decent frame but looks like he can add some more muscle. Solid mid-range game; has a nice turnaround jumper that he scored most of his points on. Jumper from outside looks a little bit forced, not as effective as the mid-range.

CLASS OF 2015
Kani Coles, CF, Edmondson (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 66 Projection: Mid D1 Notes
Freak athlete who dunks everything around the rim, but also has some skills away from the hoop. Decent passer and not a liability on the wings. Can be a big-time producer on the boards when he brings max effort. Great body control. Poor attitude when things arent going his way. Key in development will be whether he embraces a role as an undersized 4 at the next level or whether he can develop into a true wing. For now, hes a bit of a combo forward who will be serviceable anywhere within 10 feet of the hoop.

Jake McIntosh, PF, Westminster (Westminster, Md.) Height: 66 Projection: D3-D2 Notes
First viewing, was pleasantly surprised with motor and activity level. Very skinny and needs to add muscle but gets out on the break and can finish in transition. Can block and contest shots due to great length. Not overly bouncy on first jump, but has a nice second jump and can control his body well around the rim. Needs to develop left hand. Very raw but has some serious upside. Could be a candidate for prep school.

CLASS OF 2015 (cont.)

Anthony Granger, PF, Randallstown (Randallstown, Md.) Height: 66 Projection: D3-D2 / Possible JUCO Prospect Notes
Was very good and energetic on the boards. Had to play increased minutes for Randallstown, who was struggling without big man Chris Manning (Mount St. Marys, broken wrist). Has an intriguing upside and is refreshing to watch because he genuinely gets after it. Did not get the opportunity to show much outside of rebounding and energy play, but has the length and motor suggesting that he could develop into a nice prospect. Sleeper. Doubt hes a D1 down the road unless he takes an extra prep year.

Terry Page, CG, Ben Franklin (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 60 Projection: D2 Offer / Possible JUCO Prospect Notes
Creative off the dribble and always finds a way to get his shot. Impressive rebounder for a guard who played hard until the final whistle in a loss. On-floor leader whose energy impacts those around him. Forced shots a little bit and played out of control down the stretch as he was trying to keep his team in the game.

Shakur Cottman, CG, Washington (Princess Anne, Md.) Height: 511 Projection: D2 Offer / Possible JUCO Prospect Notes
Somewhat undersized but plays physical and bigger than his size. Gritty combo who can cover ground and get places with his dribble. Can fill it up from deep. Gets to the line often and shoots a high FT percentage. Doesnt look to facilitate as much as he should with the ball in his hands in the halfcourt.

TreVon Taylor, CF, Ben Franklin (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 64 Projection: D3 Impact / Possible JUCO Prospect Notes
Undersized but aggressive and hard-nosed power forward. Very athletic and energetic with a great second jump. Would make an impact at D3 level as a rebounder and junk bucket-getter. Likely to go JUCO.

CLASS OF 2016
Kodye Pugh, WF, Boys Latin (Baltimore, Md.) Height: 66 Projection: D1 Notes
Has skills and size at his age that make him into a fringe elite local prospect for his class. Super skinny frame but has the length and bounce to be an intriguing prospect. Gets up very high to pull down rebounds. Has nice touch out to 15 feet and can get his shot off whenever, almost never getting blocked. Can handle a bit and initiate the break. Consistently hits mid-range jumper and has a decent crossover from the perimeter suggesting he will develop into a full-on wing.

Torrey Brittingham, PG, Stephen Decatur (Berlin, Md.) Height: 60 Projection: D2/D1 Notes
Has a nice first step that allows him to blow by defenders and create offense out of broken halfcourt sets. Smart with the ball in his hands, doesnt try to force play despite being looked to as a star on his team. Can hit the three when left open, lines up the ball well and gets good lift on his jumper. This was a first viewing; he didnt make his presence felt as much as youd hope, but definitely showed some flashes and has a big local reputation surrounding him.
