Processing and preservation of agricultural produce is essential and unavoidable proposition for achieving food security for all. New, effective, and appropriate technologies are essential for processing, preserving and value adding foods. Well trained technologists with good preparation on the subject are rare and are important to take our food processing systems forward.
OBJECTIVES
MAKING THE TECHNOLOGIES KNOWN TO ALL AND MAKING THE TECHNOLOGISTS MEET THE INDUSTRIES are the two folded objectives of our First Student Conference on Food Technology.
ABOUT IICPT
Indian Institute of Crop Processing Technology (IICPT) is a pioneer educational and R & D institute under the Ministry of Food Processing Industries, Govt. of India. The institute is located in a panoramic campus on the outskirts of Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. It has state-ofthe-art and hi-tech research and teaching laboratories and a world class ISO certied Food Processing Business Incubation Centre. IICPT has strong tie ups with national and international research and academic institutions.
A quiz on technologies of food processing 30 entries will be allowed for the Preliminary round (written) 8 teams will be selected for the second oral round 4 teams will be selected for the third and nal round. 2 members per team and 3 teams per College will only be allowed On rst come rst serve basis
