How this rubric will be used: Every week students will complete two hours of weekly reading and write a two paragraph reflection about what they read, based on a writing rubric. I will conference with students, guiding them toward becoming proficient in the standards we are focusing on for the trimester. Students will work on achieving individual goals throughout the trimester. At the end of the trimester, students will pass in to me a weekly reading sheet for each standard that best shows how they have met the standard. This portfolio of work will then be assessed and given a grade. Throughout the trimester, students will also earn a grade for completing the reading.
