Soc 4 initial wealth should be 2d6 x 50! Inventor should not specify which specialty is taken on Engineer. ! Inventors should start with one exemplar of each patent.!

Alternate Skill Resolution 1!


Roll (Attribute)d6's, count 1 success for each die which rolls adjusted skill or less.! Each 1 allows rolling an additional die.! Difculty! Easy! ! Moderate! Hard! ! Formidable! Impossible! Succeeses! 1! ! 2! ! 3! ! 4! ! 5!

! If more than half the dice rolled 6's, some mishap occurs (even if the task succeeds).! !

Roll (Skill)d6. Each die is checked vs a TN by difculty! Difculty! Easy! ! Moderate! Hard! ! Formidable! Impossible! TN! ! 5! ! 3! ! 1! ! 2x 1! ! 3x 1! Each die coming up that range or lower is a success. Each 1 allows rolling an extra die. Formidable and impossible tasks require multiple 1's to generate each success.!

New Skills!
Surveyor (intellect) - Skill at using survey instruments for precision cartographic surveying. Yes, this overlaps with the map-making specialty of Wilderness Travel, but also includes setting survey plates, range-nding, and a host of detailed annotation models.! Musician* (Agility) - Ability to play musical instruments to a public performance level. Specialties: Strings, Keyboards, Woodwinds, Brass, Drums, Bagpipes, Composition.!

Starting Gear!
Clothing: Soc outts. Each outt includes socks, trousers, shirt, waistcoat, jacket, collar, and tie or cravat. Additionally, soc/2 (round up) sets of footwear and soc/2 additional accessories (hats, canes, etc.). Military Uniforms count 1/2 an outt each. Military ofcers also may take a sword as an accessory.!

Crew for Ironclads & Ether Flyers!


Use the rates from Sky Galleons, but Ether Flyers only crew for the larger drive - either the boiler or the coal plant. A radium plant would require additional rating/2 crew.! Bridges and Conservatories are not required on military shipping, but are required on private luxury craft.!

Age!
Characters should have an age of 15 to 20 plus 5-15 years per career. Soc 5 or 6 can add 5 years.!

3 and 4 career characters!


3 career characters 1st career only gets 4 skills, the second only gets 6; the third is normal. Only 1 general skill point! 4 career characters get 4 skills for their rst and second careers, 6 for the third and full for the fourth, and 1 general skill point.
