Proposed
Amendment
To
The
Constitution
and
Canons
Of
the
Diocese
of
West
Texas
(Second
Reading)
RESOLVED,
That
Article
II
The
Diocesan
Council,
Section
7
of
the
Constitution
and
Canons
of
the
Diocese
of
West
Texas
be
amended
to
read:
A
quorum
for
the
transaction
of
business
shall
consist
of
a
majority
of
the
clergy
entitled
to
vote
and
registered
at
Council,
and
a
representation
of
lay
delegates
from
a
majority
of
congregations.
A
quorum
shall
not
be
necessary
to
recess
or
adjourn
the
meeting
of
council.
EXPLANATION:
The
purpose
of
amending
Article
II
Section
7
is
to
allow
the
Secretary
of
the
Diocese
to
consider
only
the
number
of
clergy
registered
to
attend
Council
when
determining
a
quorum
for
conducting
business.
The
original
Article
II
Section
7
and
proposed
change
is
illustrated
below:
A
quorum
for
the
transaction
of
business
shall
