Kitchen equipment
Commercial kitchens require industrial strength equipment, including hoods and ventilation systems, commercial stoves, walk in coolers and freezers, plus safety equipment.
1.
Gas Range A large, six burner range is ideal for a commercial restaurant kitchen. Stay away from electric models, since they are more prone to breaking and can raise your utility bill sky high. Vulcan ranges are some of the most durable, ideal for a busy restaurant kitchen. Viking ranges are another commercial brand, though a lot of their models are better suited for home kitchens who want that industrial chic look. Commercial Hood A commercial hood is necessary for proper ventilation and air quality. Unless you have experience installing ventilation systems, hire a professional to install your commercial kitchen hood.
2.
3.
Stove Warming Shelf This space saving shelf will help busy cooks stay organized during the dinner rush.
4.
Commercial Refridgerator Keep cold items handy with a commercial refrigerator. Models include upright (pictured) or reach in coolers, which also serve as a prep station.
5.
Walk In Cooler
6.
A walk-in cooler is essential for any restaurant, in order to store large amounts of food safely. Your walk-in cooler should be adjacent to your restaurant kitchen. Prep Table Prep tables should be stainless steel for both durability and food safety reasons. Look for tables with built in shelves, for extra storage in your restaurant kitchen.
7.
Floor Mats Rubber floor mats are a must have for any commercial kitchen. They not only make the kitchen safer, by helping prevent slips and falls, they are more comfortable to stand on than a hard linoleum or tile surface.
8.
Dishwasher Restaurant dishwashers are essential for any commercial foodservice operation. Units are much more powerful than models designed for home use. Most commercial dishwashers can wash dish racks full of dinnerware or glasses. Specialty pots and pan washers are also available.
Kitchen furniture
For an Asian themed restaurant I would choose these kind of furniture :
The round dark wooden tables will be suitable for my restaurant, because they are quite simple, but at the same time comfortable as the guests can chat freely, classic but stylish and chic. Also would like to have dark wooden chairs with armrests, and red leather seats and backs. I think the colors a really common for Asian theme, and also they are in harmony between them.
Customers do not only buy food in a restaurant but they also pay for the services provided. The customers expectation is to receive quality service. Even in cases where the quality of food served is quite low, it is possible for to overshadow it by providing exemplary quality customer service. To save the Asian restaurant from the declining popularity, the services offered need to be improved in terms of quality. This would attract a large customer base and increase the profit margin. To ensure that the quality services are offered to customers, Asian restaurant would ensure that customers are served in a courteous and prompt manner. Exceeding the expectations of customers with additional and quality services may overshadow even food that is mediocre. The waitresses and waiters should not only be friendly but also entertaining. A good strategy that the Asian restaurant can employ is for waitresses and waiters to play a musical instrument or sing a song at the customers tables. More business could be brought in by the more novelty of this extra service. Extreme service is another way of improving the service quality of the Asian restaurant. This means that the restaurant has to value its customers and show great dedication to them. A good example is having one waiter to be dedicated to a single customer. This act would give customers the feeling that they are receiving extreme services. Of course to compensate for the extra staff, the cost of the meal would be set a higher level, which in turn increases profitability. How to Set the Reasonable Price One of the key skills for any business in having knowledge of how to set prices for various products and services provided. Pricing plays an integral part in determining the amount of profits earned by a business. A valuable business may be lost by setting prices that are too high while setting prices that are too low may imply working for long hours unnecessarily and earning less than anticipated. Hence, it is imperative for the Asian restaurant to set reasonable prices for the food and services offered. In order to set a reasonable price, it is essential to begin with cost-based prices. These are costs reflecting the amount of money used for starting the business as well as running the business. Categories of costs may include salary and individual taxes, business and office expenses and benefits. The pricing should reflect the cost of running the restaurant. The restaurant needs to determine the equivalent salary expected at the end of the daily, monthly or even annually. Moreover, personal taxes should be included when making the calculations. Some of the taxes include city and state income taxes, federal income tax and social security tax. The costs of benefits and its impacts on pricing should not be overlooked. Some of the benefits include insurance, health benefits, life and disability, profits sharing and retirement benefits. The annual costs should then be considered to be the sum of business and office expenses, benefits, salary and personal taxes annually. This gives the annual amount that the restaurant expects to earn, which means that a reasonable price has to be based on this amount. There are other strategies that can be used for setting reasonable prices for products and services provided, though the strategy presented above is the moat appropriate one for the Asian restaurant to employ.
In conclusion, improving the quality and taste of food, quality of services as well as setting reasonable prices of the food and services provided would help in solving the problem of the Asian restaurants declining popularity.
Restaurant location
Golden Dragon
I chose this location because over here arent any restaurants, this place is quite populated and well known. Over there is a nonstop parking where guests can leave their cars in safety, or if they dont have a car, up street its a bus station, where they can take a bus or a maxi taxi. I chose center district because people tend to come to the center as there a lot of places to relax. If I chose another district or another place, the restaurant wouldnt have any benefits.
Interior design
I think that for an Asian themed restaurant this interior design will be perfect. The red color takes an important place in Asian culture. Its found everywhere, especially during holidays and it means good luck and its element is fire. This color along w ith other matching colors could make a relaxing and pleasant atmosphere. Along with golden, white and black colors, the red color make the interior look rich and full of power which makes the guests fill like they are in Asia. And also dim lights will make the atmosphere more relaxing and comfortable.
I would like to have in my restaurant these kind of wall-paintings, because Sakura is common for Asian culture and think its matching Asian concept.
Restaurant menu
For the menu I would choose a leather one with plastic sheets. The red leather looks quite classic but still rich. I chose a folder with plastic sheets because its advantageous and its practical. In case of changing the design the menu could be replaced. And also plastic sheets will prevent the menu itself from clumsy guests or other incidents. For the first sheet I chose this design for menu there is shown Sakura, the name of the restaurant and the theme. Here are also some strips for design which represent colors common for Asia.
On the cover I would like to place this symbol. I chose it to represent this restaurant. On this coin are shown two golden dragons in a circle and it brings luck.
Restaurant staff
Kitchen staff as well as wait staff is the integral parts of any restaurant, so I need to hire the perfect person for each position. Kitchen staff should be experienced in their sphere. For example in my kitchen must be an executive chef , a sauce chef , a cook which does all the dishes except of pastry and dessert as I would like these two to be apart, for these two spheres I would like to have another person who is experienced in them. These persons must have the desire, potential, attitude and even talent to cook. Also they should be quite responsible (especially executive chef), accurate and have the ability to work quickly and to work in team. For executive chef it is required to act reasonable and fast in extreme situations. They all have to know perfectly Asian cuisines (Japanese , Chinese, Korean and Thai). For wait staff is required to be young, as young people are faster and easy to work with. They also need to be good looking and be sociable. They need to show good communicative skills, need to posed 2 or even 3 languages ( Romanian, Russian and even English). For my restaurant, if its possible, I would like to hire persons with an Asian appearance. For the wait staff uniform I chose this one. Black classic pants and red Asian styled coats with some black and white details would complete the restaurants concept.
As for the kitchen staff I would chose a white classic uniform. For females I would choose the whole uniform to be white, while the males pants to be black. The coat could be whether long sleeve or short one. And of course a classic white hat. So I chose a classic uniform for kitchen staff, because its practical and it is known that is the most comfortable to work.
