Human population grows up By: Joel E.

Cohen
There were more young people than old people before 2000 Ever since 2007, there are less rural people than urban people Plagues and wars caused population to decrease its growth rate o Along with the entire Earths population Developing countries doubled in population of the developed ones, in 1950 o Researchers predict that it would be six times greater in 2050 These changes attracted political attention People predicted that there will be 9.1 billion people by 2050 if growth rates stay the way it is o There is a possibility that the population would also decrease by 2 billion The human population on Earth increases annually by 74-76 million An abundance amount of poor countries are expected to triple Richer the country, the slower it grows in population If the trend continues, then there will be no one in rural areas by 2050 Earth can sustain 50% more people it already have By reducing fertility rate, it would increase small amount of people into the young age group Babylonians, Thomas Malthus in 1788, Donella Meadosn in 1972 : recorded their worries about the human population on Earth o Written evidence: the inhabited earth...yields...13,385,000,000 human beings on earth." The environment is getting exploited at a quicker rate than its regenerating rate by 1999 due to humans activity In the past, one rural person feed him/herself and one urban person on average o But now it increased to two urban person

Massive demographic transitions have been occurring; some might be beneficial, but others might cause a countrys population to decline. The amount of rural people are slowly decreasing because they moved into the city, hoping to get a better future for their family. As medicine advances, and sanitation became better, human populations have been increasing. Not as many people died from diseases and wars anymore, so the growth rate changed. People began predicting what the amount of people there will be on Earth if it continues to increase at this rate, and some even question whether there is enough resource to sustain everyone in the future. I think that people should not worry if the amount of resource is enough to sustain every single human in the future, but they should think about how to use the resources efficiently, so that there would be enough for the future. I also think that the human population is going to continue to increase, but there will be a time in the future where the population declines due to some unknown factor.

So what? If the amount of people on Earth continues to increase, then there would be more elder people, more urban people, and possibility that there would be an increase of pollution, both air and water.

What if? What if the population constantly increases at this rate that it is at? The carrying capacity is possibly going to get reached, and there would be more urban people than rural people.

This reminds me of When someone is eating, they can continue to eat, but they would eventually get full.
