The point of the Battle of Britain was for Germany to try to take over the Royal Air Force. Soon after day after day the British gathered the pilots of the RAF and went into battle against Hitler. As England, despite her hopeless military situation, still shows no sign of willingness to come too terms, I have decided to prepare, and if necessary to carry out, a landing operation against her. The aim of this operation is to eliminate the English motherland as a base from which war against Germany can be continued and, if necessary, to occupy completely Adolf Hitler August 1st,1940 The Luftwaffe will use all the forces at its disposal to destroy the British air force as quickly as possible. September 15th is celebrated as the anniversary because on that day the Royal Air Force shot down 185 German planes, and it was about that date that the failure of the Germans to overwhelm the British defenses by daylight bombing.

Geoffrey planned on firing one of the leading machines when he thought no one has seen him and after he heard the enemy fire and stared to try to destroy them before he was destroyed. He heard a bang and he couldnt believe he had been hi as his plane was starting to catch fire the last thing he did before self destruct and his last sight was watching the enemies plane being hit.

Hitler decided to attack Britain because they were the last enemy left in Eroupe after the fall of France in July and so they thought they could conquer them quickly with little planning attacking in flight and didnt get to the next part of the operation after Brtian defeated them. "Eagle Day". The Luftwaffe launched its offensive against Britain, with 1,485 sorties. The Germans lost 45 'planes and the RAF 13. A day of intense attacks. was to be sunk without warning. August 25th The RAF launched its first raid on Berlin. September 7th Some 300 German bombers, escorted by 600 fighters, attack London. The RAF claimed to have shot down 183 German 'planes - a figure later September 15th found to be inflated. September 17th Hitler postponed "Operation Sealion" until further notice. October 12th "Operation Sealion" postponed until 1941.
