> SMS OTP uses Gemaltos SA Server 01 to send an OTP to any mobile phone via the Short Message Service (SMS) format. SMS OTP combines two-factor authentication security with the convenience and simplicity of mobile SMS messages. It is easy to use, it offers a simple end-user experience and there is no software to install or maintain. The solution has no impact on the end-users handset. When logging on to a secure network through their workstation, laptop, netbook, tablet or smartphone, the end-user enters their enterprise credentials of username and password. This generates a request for an OTP, which is sent to their handset via SMS. Employers need to subscribe to a Mobile Messaging Operator (MMO) that offers an SMSC- or HTTP-compatible API SMS service. Configuring the SMS service with SA Server is very simple. > Mobile OTP uses an application 02 downloaded to the handset that allows users to securely generate an OTP using their mobile phone as a token. Two solutions for maximum flexibility Protiva mobile OTP solutions provide safe and convenient authentication for end-users who are able to securely access their networks wherever they are without having to carrying an additional authentication device. They allow businesses to enjoy all the advantages of secure, two-factor authentication without the need for additional investment in OTP devices. When used in conjunction with an OTP token deployment, the mobile features can also serve as a back-up if a users OTP token is lost or stolen. Protivas SMS OTP and Mobile OTP solutions deliver an OTP to the users mobile phone via short messaging service (SMS) or the user has the ability to download an app which produces an OTP when initiated by the user similar to a hardware token. All Gemalto OTP solutions are managed by Protiva SA Server. When an end-user attempts to access an online resource (i.e., corporate network, cloud based service, online gaming environment), they simply enter the OTP received via SMS or generated by their mobile app. This several digit code (defined by administrator policy) is sent as part of the login process to the server.
