MARKET COMPETITORS
Direct competitors
W2E project does not have any direct competitors. Electricity generation in the government and private sectors is by conventional means of Hydal power and fossil fuels.
Indirect competitors
The indirect competitors in the industry of electricity generation are as follows 1: Nishat mills:
Nishat group of companies is a premier business house of Pakistan. The group has thermal based power generation sector through establishment of Nishat Power Limited. The group currently holds 56.84% of Nishat Power Limited. Their fuel supply agreement has been signed with Shell Pakistan Limited. They generate electricity for their own firm but they sell it to WAPDA at rate of Rs/13 per unit during the period of shortfall. They produce electricity using furnace oil but furnace oil per ton is Rs/25,445 which is very expensive. 2: Sitara Energy Ltd: Sitara energy limited. Is one of the most modern and largest captive plants in Pakistan. The electrical energy is produced by twenty-four generator sets .Eight generator sets operate on diesel fuel and sixteen operate on natural gas. But the recent price of diesel is Rs/57 per liter which is also very expensive. If we compare all these methods with W2E project, then W2E project is also very effective than all other energy generations methods.
