1. Research Background:

After approximately a quarter century business logistics remains a


relatively new field of study in business administration. Following its
inception in the early 1960 the logistics fields continues to be somewhat of
a paradox of old and new. The4 traditional function of movement and
storage are the focal point of activity in the area. Its important is being
increased to minimize cost and increase efficiency in operation to
maximize profits. So, different organizations are giving attention in this
area. Navana group which is a leading business organization is also
concern of this factor. We are only going to cover logistics activities of
Navana Furniture.

2. Research Objectives:

The broad objective of the research is:


 To identify and analyze the overall logistics activities of Navana
Furniture

In the pursuit of achieving the broad objective, the research will also
address the following objectives:

 To gain an understanding on issues that are important in logistics


activities
 To get familiar with the logistics activities of a leading corporate
institution.
 To find out the problems (if any) and prospects of logistics activities of
Navana Furniture
 To recommend some suggestion to improve efficiency in logistics
activities

3. Scope of the Research:

3.1 Location/Geographic coverage: The research will be conducted only


in the Dhaka city.
3.2. The sectors we will cover: We will try to cover each and every
sector of logistics from purchasing raw material to disposal of wastages
including warehousing, transportation, inventory control etc.
4. Data collection

4.1 Source of Data: Both primary and secondary sources will be used for
the research purpose. Secondary data will be used for providing the
theoretical background to the research problem. Primary data will be
collected through the appropriate research instrument.

4.2 Methods of Data Collection: Primary Data regarding the research will
be collected by:
 Interviews with the employees of the organization.
Secondary Data will be collected by:
 Different text on logistics
 Brochures & reports of the organization
 Websites

5. Method of Analysis:

The collected data will be analyzed to find out the current strategies that
Navana Furniture using to perform their logistics activities.

6. Expected Limitations of the Research:

The proposed research is expected to be plagued with several limitations.


These are as follows:

 Limitation due to improper accessibility


 Limitation due to the non-cooperation from Navana Furniture in
collecting various relevant information
 Limitation due to lack of sufficient data and information
 Time limitations
