Proposal What type of photography are you going to produce?

My photography will be based on Fine Art and all the different aspects within Fine Art photography. Fine Art can include anything from portraits up to landscapes and anything that can come across artistic and that is my goal for the images I take. I want to try out the different aspects in Fine Art and try taking as many different pictures that are included in Fine Art. I will be focusing on portrait and trying different ways of capturing the beauty of an individual. I will be focusing on different plants and flowers and try out different techniques using the flowers. I will also focus on Still Life images and capture artistic pictures using Still Life. I will look at capturing pictures to do with nature landscapes and try different ways as to making them look arty. I want my photographs to be seen as different and I want them to leave the people seeing my photographs questioning what is actually in the images. !ut on some scale I want some of my images to be easier to understand but still having an arty feel to the image. What contexts could this type of photography be used in? Fine Art photography can be used for Fine Art maga"ines. A well#known e$ample is %& maga"ine 'neutral density(. )he maga"ine has photographers who work as Fine Art photographers and their work and also provides interviews with some of the photographers. Focus Fine Art *hotography Maga"ine is another Fine Art maga"ine that displays photographer+s work and also includes interviews with photographers and different techniques to help amateur photographers. Fine Art photographs can be seen in art galleries too. ,Fifty -ne+ is a Fine Art gallery that has different e$hibits that include different photographers Fine Art images. For some Fine Art images they can be published in books and could maybe be used in articles for maga"ines. Who are your influences for this project? -ne of the influences for my portrait photographs is .dith Maybin. /er photography is seen as different and unusual and creates a story through a series of images. She shows the stages through a woman+s life in one series of images and I find her unique portrait images very influential. She uses different body parts as well as full shot portrait images to represent the stages in a woman+s life and represents the freedom in a girl+s young life. 0on 1an &ongen is influential to me for his Still Life images. /e uses a mi$ture of monochrome as well as colour photography and uses different angles and also uses macro to get really close to his sub2ect. /is images are clear and sharp and also have an artistic look. )ierney 3earson really shows her Fine Art element to her images. Some photographer+s keep it quite seduced but she really e$presses Fine Art in a different way. /er images are inspiring and really fascinating to look at. )his is what I love about having different images and being able to show it and it+s a choice between love and hate. Some people love images like 3earson+s but some people hate it and don+t understand the message behind he image. What will your subjects be for this project? I will have quite a few different sub2ects for my images as I am trying out a range of different photographs. For my portrait photographs I will be using a female model. /er make#up will be quite bold and aggressive and her clothes will be quite calm and neutral. I want to get really close on the models facial features and body parts rather than full body shots. )his will make more interesting portrait photographs and add an artistic effect to the images. I will have flowers and plants as part of my Still Life element to Fine Art. I will try getting up close to the flowers and using different angles for different outcomes. I will also try co#operating different shapes within the flowers to make different patterns or shapes for the images. For my nature photographs I will be focusing on trees and maybe wildlife depending on the weather and what wildlife appears. For my tree image I will want to get up close to the leaves and the bark to get different te$ture images instead of taking quite long images. I will be going around and seeing what different te$tures would make good artistic photographs. For e$ample te$tures like wood rust concrete peeling paint and run

down features on buildings 'brick work(. )his will give my images a feeling and te$ture and will be quite interesting when they are up close and have all the different effects and details. I want all my sub2ects to be up close and try to fill as much of the frame as possible. What techniques will you use? &epending on what techniques I have tried using on the photograph I will be using quite a lot of post production on the images to try and accomplish the look I was wanting for the photographs. I want to go quite over the top with the arty theme of my photographs and make my images unusual or quite soft. I will be ad2usting the colours in my images and making them quite washed out and that+s how I will make my images soft. I will also be taking some of my photos or converting them into black and white. I will be using a macro lens for quite a lot of the images so I can get really close to my sub2ects and fill the frame up. I will be ad2usting the shutter speed so that it will be on for longer and this will make my images quite out of focus and capture movement when it+s there and this will make it harder for the people seeing my images what is in the image and it will also be quite an artistic effect. 4hen I get close to my sub2ect and there are parts of the background in the image I want to have a shallow depth of field so the background doesn+t become a distraction and take the focus away from the main sub2ect. Some of the post production will include ad2usting some of the lighting so that it can be quite dark and mysterious and so it doesn+t give a lot away.
