5. INTRODUCTION, OVERVIEW OF ORGANIZATION AND ORGANIZATION STRUCTERE 5.1 Brief introduction of the organization
It is an uphill task to trace the origin of word bank. Some people think that banco is the origin of bank. Banco means a bench. The early bankers had done their business on the benches in Lombardy-Italy. There are others who say that back is the origin of it. It is a German word and means a joint stock fund. There is no record for checking the correct opinion. We can say
The Bank is a man who lends you an umbrella when the weather is fair and takes
it away when it rains.
What is Bank
A bank is an institution for the custody, loan or exchange of money for sanctioning credit, for transferring funds by domestic foreign bills of exchange. It is a pipeline through which currency moves into and out of circulation. As it is clear from the definition of banking, the main activity or function of banking is borrowing and lending of money with a margin of gain. However, as far as the present day banking is concerned, there are a number of different banks, set up under specific different objectives, performing various functions.
According to KINELY
A banker is an institution which receives deposits and advances loans.
According to GILBERT
A banker is a dealer in capital or more properly a dealer in money. He is an intermediary party between the borrower and the lender.

According to CROWTHER
A bank collects money from those who have it spare or who are saving it out of their incomes. It lends money to those who require it.
According to COULBARN
Banks are a variety of firms for the safe keeping of money and to granting and transferring of credit. The national bank of Pakistan was established in 9 th November 1949 under the ordinance XIX. The NBP commenced its operations from 20 th Nov 1949. The Bank was incorporated under the National Bank of Pakistan Ordinance 1949 and is listed there Pakistani stock exchanges. The bank controls treasury dealings for the Government of Pakistan as a representative to the State Bank of Pakistan. NBP offers a commercial banking and interrelated services in Pakistan as well as outside of Pakistan. The business sector of NBP is banking sector and the banks plays a vital role in an economy of country NBP also played an important role NBP also provide banking or financial services in Pakistan bank plays a major part in economy now a days the current economic crisis in united and Europe as well as Pakistan as we see day by day downsizing and is because the ongoing weakness of major bank and the result of all this is credit and capital crush so we can say its prove from history that the banking sector is plays a very vital role in national and global economy. Banks play an important role in the economic life of the nation. The growth of the economy depends on the strength of its banking system. Although banks create no new wealth, but borrowed, exchange and consumption. This makes the generation of wealth. This becomes more effective partner in the development of this country. Encouraging the savings habit and to mobilize these savings is the main objective. Banks deposit surplus years and then progress these surpluses as loans to entrepreneurs, farmers, entrepreneurs and unemployed under different plans to establish his own business. Banks to help capital formation If banks were not, there would be no concentration of

CAUSES OF NATIONALIZATION
The nationalization of banks may be justified on the following grounds: Large commercial and industrial houses dominate the lending policies of commercial banks, which carried out the problem of the concentration of wealth. And guided by the commercial banking operations by the profit motive and as a result, the underdeveloped regions and small business have never been his clients favorite. Run banks, in contrast to business, and direct participation in the national economy. For example, if the banks raise the cost of credit, can the cost of everything rises.
Result of Nationalization
Though there are doubts about the positive results of the nationalization, but we can say that the nationalization of banks to provide professional management efficiency to expand banking services in every corner of the country. Banks full focus their lending policies in priority sectors and the national construction projects, and activities that encourage non-productive and unhealthy speculation and monopoly; there was also an increase in the number of overseas branches of Pakistani banks. The Pakistani banking system was significant growth. Expansion of banking services in rural areas. Increase in bank credit to a large extent, especially in the public sector. Part of this expansion in the banking credit system seeks the goals set by the credit of the National Advisory Council (NCCC) and establishes priorities for this year to increase the flow of bank credit to small and all agricultural exports. And bank deposits increased to a very large extent during period when total assets increased cash also sharply.

During the first days means staring day we are not perform our work efficiently. But when go any permanent job in any organization after completion of degree then we are perform efficient work in any organization due to that the benefit of internship that are learning many to you.
