CX700, CX3-20, CX3-40, CX3-80 has 4 bus/loops.

CX400, CX500, CX600 has two bus/loops CX700, CX3-20, CX3-40, CX3-80 has 4 bus/lo ops. Each bus is numbered as BUS 0, BUS 1, BUS 2 and BUS 3 depending on the model ty pes. Each DAE (Disk Array Enclosure) located on the BUS is numbered based on the actu al physical loop number running into it. Again numbering starts at 0. So for a CX700, if yo u have 4 Buses and 8 DAE 4 GB of memory per storage processor------CX700 Each processor has four 2GB fibre channel opical ports It has four 2 gb ports back end whih supports 240 of maximum hard disk The 2 Gb storage processor enclosure (SPE) - houses only the storage processors (SPs) A 2 Gb disk array enclosure (DAE2) - houses up to 15 drives and can be added to, to scale to a maximum of 240 drives RAID level 0, 1, 1/0, 3, 5 and individual disk support, All CX700 storage systems are shipped with 4 GB of cache and dual 3.0 GHz proce ssors on each SP There are two 2 Gb Fibre Channel communications messaging interface (CMI) channels between the SPs The SPE and DAE2 do not use the same enclosure; however, unlike other CX storage systems, the CX700 has a separate enclosure for the SPs, while the first DAE2 contains the drives w here the configuration, cache vault, and boot images are stored. The DAE2 enclosure has room for up to 1 5 drives. Drive 0 is at the furthest left side of the enclosure, and drive 14 is at the furthest right side of the enclosure CX700 has dual SPSs for redundancy and fault tolerance. One SPS output connector powers up one of the power supplies in the SP CX700 Support: Maximum number of MetaLUNs per storage system 1024 Maximum LUN size (Base or MetaLUN) 2 TB Maximum number of combinations (striping/concatenation) per Base LUN 16 CX600 characteristics EMC has released the characteristics of the CX600 along with performance informa tion. The performance information comes from EMC and not through the Storage Per formance Council. Some of the notable characteristics are: Four Intel 2 GHz processors are used in the dual controller system Cache memory can be either 4 or 8 GB) 4 back end Fibre Channel ports supporting two loop (2 Gb Fibre Channel) 15 disk drives in a package with a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 240 per system Use of currently available 2Gb Fibre Channel disk drives 1,024 LUNs are available Up to 128 hosts may be attached by either point-to-point or Fibre Channel RAID 0, 1, 10, 3, and 5 are supported and may be intermixed 10 operating systems are supported initially including Windows NT/2000, Solaris, NetWare, Linux, AIX, Tru64, and IRIX Battery hold up until cache contents are de-staged

CX3 model 80 supports 480 drives It has 8 gb of memory per storage processor It is only midrange storage system in industry that delivers 4gbps throughout t he entire system CX3 can be designed to to recognize and support 2 as well as 4 gbps speed CX4 model 960 We use flare 29 in cx4 and supports four ultrafloux module
