It is the standard size for a high quality social media website.

Tools needed: (use one sentence to describe what the tool is for and another

sentence to explain how you will use it for this project. If it is not obvious.)
Mac OS X Version 10.8.5 This is the specific laptop and software needed to create the product. It is preferable to use a MacBook for this specific project as it has more features and easier accessibility than a PC Windows laptop. Nikon Camera A camera will be required to provide a high quality video interview of the students and the champions. Using a professional camera to video record my interviews is another way of visually persuading the audience that my issue is a very thorough problem in the school, rather than an issue that is not important and is shown through a Photobooth video recording. SD Card Converter to USB This tool is very crucial in importing videos from cameras to the MacBook. The SD card or memory card is taken out of the camera and inserted on one side of the converter. The other side is inserted as a regular USB connection to the laptop. Keynote 09 Version 5.3 Keynote is a software application for creating presentations. This is the main platform for my persuasive presentation and the link to other technologies such as my website, my surveys and petitions, my Google Docs graphs and charts and my social media. It will also include my videos from iMovie and QuickTime.

Farzin Sadeq Design 9B Saturday, January 11, 2014 iMovie 11 Version 9.0.9 and QuickTime Version 10.2 iMovie and QuickTime are two video editing software applications used to create movies and clips. These applications are where I will edit and add more enhancing features to the interviews, making them look more professional and persuasive. The more professional the video looks, the more likely people will want to influence a change. Google Sites (web hosting) Google is a web host that owns many other smaller websites useful for many purposes. In my blended system, I will Google Docs, Spreadsheets/Surveys/Petitions, a part of Google Drive, and Blogger, which are owned by Google Sites.

I will use these features of Google Sites because they serve as a digital presentation rather than a physical presentation. For example, instead of drawing graphs and charts by hand, I can use Google Spreadsheets to digitally create and share with others using technology. It then can be a part of the blended technologies system, unlike a physical poster or flyer. I also chose Google instead of other search engines like Yahoo or Bing because they do not have any other features that can be managed under one account like Google. Likewise, they can also be linked and shared with each other

Farzin Sadeq Design 9B Saturday, January 11, 2014 more easily.

Knowledge needed: (List any information you are going to present in your

project. Include any images/videos etc. that you are going to use in your project.)
Creating a Keynote The Keynote is an important element of my blended technology as it combines most of the products together under one platform. Creating graphs and charts on Google Docs This knowledge is needed to gather all my evidence from the surveys and petitions in one single graph and chart. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=713apMgym-w Editing videos and voice recordings on QuickTime and iMovie This knowledge is important to edit the voiceovers and images correctly, making it look professional.

Skills needed: (Which of these do you have and which will you need to

learn/develop in order to complete the project.)

Analysis These analyzing skills are very useful in determining whether my research and statistics are valid and informative or not. Without these skills, it could mean that my issue is void and my evidence is weak, thus creating an unpersuasive and useless presentation. Time Management This skill is important as I need to manage the limited time that is given in the create stage. Time management is crucial and helps

Farzin Sadeq Design 9B Saturday, January 11, 2014 me to make the right decisions and options for my product. Otherwise, everything will be last minute and incomplete. Collaboration It is important to work out what works best to support the cause and accepting decisions with the champions. It is also important for other students to agree with the cause. Collaboration is key in persuading both audiences to support the cause. Communication It is a key element in interviews to have confident speaking skills to get a point across and to persuade the audience to support this cause. Strong communication skills can make a person change their perspective.

Follow more people on Twitter. This is important, as it is the main tool to raise awareness and gather support from

30 mins

Farzin Sadeq Design 9B Saturday, January 11, 2014 the school. Follow classmates, friends and other students of the school to gain access to a wider audience. In this way, we can be able to spread information and gain support as quickly as possible. Try to follow people from different grade levels, as it will extremely impact the results of the survey, petition and graph. 6 Another important reminder is to continuously update the Twitter feed. It will provide a good image of the fact that the issue is real and does actually exist in the school community. It is also noticed that if the news feed is constantly updated, then people will be persuaded that the solution is feasible and can influence the people around them. 50 mins

Feasibility of the Plan My plan is feasible as according the calendars below. (next page)

Feedback Amal: Your plan is thorough and very comprehensive. I can see myself clearly doing the product right now. The added information makes the plan more useful. Hamizah: The plan has different sections on how to create each different product. It makes it easier for me to see what I need to do and which tools I will need. The red sections help me understand that I need to focus on the blue and green sections.

Can someone feasibly create your product using this plan and your design? Justify your answer. I believe someone can feasibly create my product using this design and plan. My plan lists all the tools I will need and describes its role in my presentation. I also have the skills and knowledge required for the task and describes how I will achieve these skills. My instructions are logical and detailed. My instructions are in sequences and are in sections, making it easier for others to read and easily create the same product I have in mind. They can also use the calendar to make sure that they stay on task.

Discuss your time estimates and total time. I believe I have enough time because my time estimates are reasonable and realistic. I predict that I will have enough time to complete the blended technologies system and submit on time during school lessons.

Farzin Sadeq Design 9B Saturday, January 11, 2014 Type of Technology QuickTime Keynote Survey and Petition Twitter Google Graphs Total Estimated Time 93 150 50 112 62 467 minutes

What strategies will you use to make sure you have enough time to complete your project? I will make sure that I will work hard and efficiently in class and at home. I will ask and search for answers on anything Im uncertain of, like watch a tutorial or read instructions. Finally, I will stay on task and not distract anyone else from his or her work. I also have a calendar with notifications each time I needed to start or finish a task.

Why did you change your design? I changed some elements of my design according to my teachers feedback. (next page)

Changes in the Plan I have made many changes in the plan. Towards the end of the project, I teamed up back with Amal after working on the projects individually. We combined both our petition results and our

Farzin Sadeq Design 9B Saturday, January 11, 2014 twitter followers. Since her project was Speak Up QA and my project was Improving PSE Classes, we made a common name The Voices of QA. I made a logo for my project. I used comments from my Twitter account @ClassPse as evidence that students want some type of change where students can have their opinions heard. I also used QuickTime for screen recordings of my website like a small tutorial on how to use the website to its extent. I also used Google features to make a form, which is linked to the website, where students can submit any issues that are occurring to them. It is anonymous and also has the option to use names. I did not use a Google chart for my results because the viewers would assume that the students in Grade 9 signed it more than the other grades because they were doing the same thing for each other. I decided not to use an online petition because nobody was signing it, even though I posted it online. There might have been some privacy issues or other circumstances. I created a petition on pdf and decided to print it out instead. I received way more votes during school time. The Keynote itself has changed slightly. I wanted to keep the audience interested so I decided to use bullet points on the slides and to voice record my speeches. I had to write out my speech and then record in one go. I also used timed transitions between the slides to keep the flow of the presentation going.
