Emergency Visitation Travel


What is it? EVT allows an eligible employee/family member assigned at a foreign PDS to travel at government expense to the CONUS in certain family emergency situations. Who? Ordinarily only ONE authorization allowed: Employee or eligible family member. Authority? Medical Immediate family member is seriously ill or injured and faces imminent death. Death Immediate family member has died. Incapacitated Parent a parent becomes incapacitated and travel is necessary to arrange for assisted living arrangements. *Must be supported by physician's statement. Unusual personal hardship provides for certain exceptional circumstances involving unusual personal hardship other than those provided in C7602-E1. What is paid? Air transportation only. What is NOT paid? Ground transportation/per diem/excess baggage.

Emergency Visitation Travel


Immediate family member:

Spouse or domestic partner Child including step/adopted/legal guardianship Parent of the employee or spouse/partner Sibling of the employee or spouse/partner in case of death

Eligible Family Member:


Unmarried child under the age of 21 or who is incapable of self support Parent who is at least 51% dependent on employee for support Sibling who is at least 51% dependent on employee for support unmarried and under age 21 or who is incapable of self support Spouse or domestic partner

EMT: Required health care is medical or dental at

which there is NO ADEQUATE FACILITY to provide suitable care at the PDS.

This determination must be based on the advice of an appropriate certifying physician

Emergency Medical Travel


What? Required Medical travel that cannot be postponed until the employees next scheduled PCS/RAT travel Who? Employee/attendant/accompanying family member

Where? Facility closest to the PDS based on the advice of an appropriate professional certifying physician
What is paid? TDY: per diem, lodging and transportation

Casualty Assistance
Each DoD Component must provide assistance in arranging, and must pay the expenses for, the preparation and the transportation of the remains. Employees:

Mortuary Services Transportation ground and air Requirements for transportation i.e. casket, air trays, etc. HHGs/PCS costs return to HOR

Dependents: Mortuary Services on a reimbursable basis Transportation ground and air HHGs/PCS costs return to HOR
