1.6 ListofFiguresandTables
If the report contains figures or tables; a list of these should be provided. Figures include diagrams,
photographs, drawings, graphs, charts and maps. The list should give the table or figure number, the
title of the table or figure and the page number. Remember that all figures and tables used must be

1.7.1 Introduction
Thisshouldbetreatedasthefirstchapterinprojectreport.Inthischapter,thestudent(s)shouldadda
briefbackground,motivation,problemstatementandobjectivesoftheproject.Thischaptershouldalso
list the organization of the thesis. Introduction should not be confused with literature review. Ideally,
theintroductionchaptershouldbe34pages.

1.7.2 Literature Review

Theliteraturereviewshouldnot bejustacompilationorreproductionoftheworksofothers.Itishighly
recommended to explain the ideas in your own words along with proper referencing. The literature
review requires the student to examine and comment critically on the literature relevant to the
studentsareaofresearch.Itshouldclearlyindicatevarioustechniques/ideasinthisareaofstudy.Itis
againsuggested thatallthematerial usedinthis chaptershouldbeproperlyreferenced to.Incase,a
pieceofinformationisdirectlycopiedfromasource,itshouldbeclearlydistinguishedfromrestofthe
text.

1.7.3 Methodology
Thissectioncouldbedividedintoanumberofchaptersandsubchapters.Eachoftheseshouldcontain
a reasonably separate topic of discussion and be arranged in a logical sequence. The student must
clearly and coherently describe the method(s) he/she has adopted in the project. Use past tense to
describewhatyoudid.Dontaddyourresultsinthissection,justlisttheprocedures.
Thepossiblesubsectionsareasfollows:
1.7.3.1 Design Procedure (or appropriate title related to project)
Discuss your design decisions for each subproject at the most general level: What alternative

1.7.3.2 Design Details (or appropriate title related to project)

applied.Giveequationsanddiagramswithspecificdesignvaluesanddata.

1.7.4 Results and Discussion

Discussthetestingofthecompletedprojectanditsmajorsubprojects.Includethedetailsofallsortsof
simulations done to verify your design and also provide details of the data collected during hardware
testing. Provide solid technical data, and present it in an easily grasped manner, using graphs where
possible.

this chapter is to convince the reader that the proposed design will work. Any sort of uncertainties,

The recommendations for the future work related to the project should also be listed in this chapter.
However, usewordsonlyandavoidstatingany sort of equations or diagrams for this purpose.

1.8 References
