RESUMEN
El presente informe de tesis intitulado Mtodos de Ense anza que usan los docentes del rea de Idioma Extranjero Ingls en las Instituciones Educativas Pblicas y Privadas de Educacin Secundaria del Distrito de Nuevo Chimbote - 2006 , se realiz en el Distrito de Nuevo Chimbote, cuyo propsito principal fue conocer los mtodos de enseanza ms usados por los docentes de dicha rea.

La poblacin estuvo constituida por 62 instituciones educativas de educacin secundaria del Distrito de Nuevo Chimbote, de las cuales se seleccion una muestra de 14 pblicas y 15 privadas (se consider un docente por institucin y todos los alumnos de un grado y aula especfica a cargo del docente seleccionado). Se dise una Gua de Observacin la cual fue aplicada durante el desarrollo de clase; asimismo se aplic encuestas para los docentes como para los alumnos las que sirvieron para contrastar lo observado en el desarrollo de la clase con lo expuesto por los docentes en las encuestas. Los resultados obtenidos de acuerdo a la aplicacin de las tcnicas e instrumentos dirigidas a los alumnos y docentes del rea de ingls y el anlisis de la Programacin Anual de los docentes, mostraron que la gran mayora de ellos usaron los mtodos de Gramtica y Traduccin, y Comunicativo para la ejecucin de sus clases, lo que indica que no estn cumpliendo a cabalidad lo establecido por el Ministerio de Educacin en el Diseo Curricular Bsico.

ABSTRACT
This research is titled Methodology of teaching used by the teachers of the Foreign Language English Area in Public and Private Institutions of Secondary Education in the District of Nuevo Chimbote 2006. It was applied in the District of Nuevo Chimbote. The main goal was to know the teaching methods used by the teachers of that area.

The area was served by 62 Institutions of Secondary Education in the District of Nuevo Chimbote with a sample of 14 public and 15 private institutions (a teacher was considerated by a school and all the students of a grade and specified classroom under the charge of the selected teacher).

An observation guide was designed in order to apply it during the teachers class development, therefore surveys were given to the students and teachers, which were used to contrast what it was observed during the class development and what the teacher wrote on the surveys.

The results were obtained according to the applications of the techniques and instruments such as the Observation Guide, the Surveys for the teachers and students, and the Analysis of the Annual Programming, showed that most of the teachers used the Grammar Translation and Communicative Method during their classes, What it means that they are not doing what the Education Government established in the Basic Curricular Design.
